The dinning experience at Sea Dog in Orlando was very poor, unimpressive, and not worthy of another visit. The menu does a nice job making the food dishes sound more interesting and appealing than they really are. In actuality the food ranged from lousy to mediocre. For example, the burgers were very typical; nothing stood out except for it being over cooked. The chicken wings were average, except for the one specialty blueberry wing sauce. It had a interesting flavor but not worth a repeat. The chicken and dumplings were not the typical southern comfort fare one would expect. It consisted of succotash, gnocchis, and bone-in chicken. The dish was was too dry, and the combination of ingredients was unappealing. The so-called crab cakes were horrible. The crab cakes tasted nothing like blue crab meat. Rather it tasted fishy like, full of filler and seasoning, and had the texture of imitation crab meat (kamaboko) from white fish that was frozen and reheated. Food items were slightly overpriced, especially considering the quality, or lack thereof. Portions sizes were average to generous. Their brewed beers were really boring, and too similar to one another. They carry a vast selection, however several types of their craft beers tasted like they were the same one; possibly just cut, blended and colored to make it slightly different so it could be sold as another type. In general I found this to be one of the worst microbreweries as far as actual real beer goes. Service was hit or miss. Foods came out promptly, but drinks were slow, and other request for sauces, extra napkins, etc. were not always filled. As for atmosphere, its nothing special. It has the typical brew house decor and rustic pub feel to it. Overall this place really needs to step up its game, especially considering all the really good dining options and microbreweries in the area.

SPARK NOTES VERSION: GO TO ONE OF THE BETTER PLACES NEARBY STORY: I went there today for happy hour with some friends. I personally am not a fan of their beers so i decided to take advantage of their half off wells and got a well margarita. So with my menu open to the happy hour page i ordered my marg. Actually I ended up getting four. However on receiving my bill I come to find that the well tequila marg did not count in their happy hour. After waiting what seemed like forever for our waitress to come grab our checks (she had a bunch of other large tables, this wasnt my issue) a manager came to grab them. I asked him about it and in the most condescending way he told me that they were not part of happy hour and spoke of how it was actually less than a usual margarita (because i ordered it with bottom shelf tequila). Had I known this i would not have gotten four. I have never had this happen before in a restaurant. Although the waitress should have explained this to me, the way the manager handled the situation was completely unacceptable. The way in which he spoke to me was ridiculous for a manager. I dont believe I have walked out of a restaurant never wanting to return again so badly. I ended up tipping the waitress more than she deserved because i know how hard it is, however the management in this place is awful. I paid far too much for being treated the way i was. I will not be returning and will if my friends ever talk about it i will happily direct them to the places in the area that have much higher quality service.

We came to this place midday around the time happy hour started to catch a breather from Disney World. We made perfect timing since the moment we drove off from the Magic Kingdom it started pouring and continued to do so until we finished our food and drinks at Sea Dog! Not only does this place have great drinks and a delicious happy hour menu, its also located relatively close to the Disney World Resort. When I say relatively close, were talking about a 10-15 minute drive depending on which park youre trying to get back to or come from. Not bad at all! The Hazelnut Porter and Smashed Blueberry beers were great in taste and refreshing to sip on and highly recommended to anyone that likes darker brews or flavorful beers. Since happy hour consisted of $1 oysters, the three of us ended up with three rounds of a dozen oysters to satisfy our seafood appetite but for some reason that wasnt enough. In addition, we got the lobster Mac & Cheese with bacon sprinkled on top and a seafood pasta dish. Needless to say, after all the drinks and food, we were stuffed and on the verge of a food coma! Anyone wanting to take a break from adventuring the theme parks and feeling thirsty for a cold one and some great seafood should definitely consider checking this place out, especially if youre trying to avoid paying those premium Disney prices at the parks and resorts!

The first time we went to Seadog about 6 months ago, we thought it was great! Tonite we went back raving about the place to my daughter, and the food was mediocre at best. While we were eating our appetizers, mussels that smelled like urine and calamari that tasted like it was sitting out so long they were on the verge of soggy...my daughter had a tiny roach crawl across her arm, then a few minutes later another came crawling across the window sill. Not trying to make a scene, we told our waiter and she moved us to another table, and her reaction seemed as if this wasnt the first time shes heard this. After we hastily finished our dinner, she brought us the check saying they took off 50% and gave us a free round of drinks, the discount was actually only about 30% of the entire check. The gesture was appreciated, none the less. We paid the bill and left with skin crawling. Hope they get the pest issues resolved, but we probably will not return!

My wife and I visited the Orlando Sea Dogs location. We were cheerfully greeted by the hostess. Since we were there just to taste some of the on-site craft brewed beer we opted to sit at the bar. Our bartender was very friendly and provided excellent information about the wide selection of beer on tap. We sampled a few different brews and enjoyed each one of them. We ordered an appetizer which was not all that good, however I would never rate a restaurant on whether we liked their nachos or not. The atmosphere was great! Lots of TVs to watch a game, a guy playing unpluged classic and modern rock on his guitar in the corner, lots of bar and tall-table seating, and servers that clearly enjoyed working there. I recommend going here if you want a comfortable and fun place with great craft-beer and a good-looking dinner menu. I cant speak to the food quality, but I suspect its pretty good given the happy dinner customers we saw.

Beer: Couldnt believe how bad the beer was for a place that calls itself a brewery! Food:The chicken was done well but the red meat was way overcooked, asked for medium rare and no pink left on my husbands burger. The calamari tasted like the fryer oil hadnt been changed in a very long time, basically we couldnt even taste the calamari. Service: Every single thing that we asked for wasnt done until the food came and we had to ask another time or two. They should outsource their beer selections because out of the 4 different beers we tried, none were good. We love good beer and know what were talking about; all 8 adults at the table tried the different beers and said the same thing. Every single thing could be better. If youre going to drop some coin on a nice dinner this is just not the place to do it. I will never go back here.
