I can honestly say that I probably wont be back to Royal Docks Brewing Company any time soon. But why? Im giving them the coveted 5-star treatment, after all. OK, its the distance thing. I just cant do long-distance relationships. Sure, its great at first, we both promise to call or text every day. Follow each other on Instagram and Facebook. Even sending the occasional snail mail card is a nice touch. But soon enough, thingsll get awkward, well both start living our separate lives, meeting other breweries, drinking strange beer. Its best just to avoid the inevitable acrimony altogether. So how was our one-night stand? I loved my experience here. My wife and I were meeting her dad, who happens to live in North Canton, for a lunch date and, because he knows me, he suggested Royal Docks. Sure, in laws mostly suck, but he gets points for this. Sure, its in a strip mall, but from the outside and all the work they did to the interior, its like youve been transported to beervana and left to your own devices. I really loved the huge garage door windows. Great for sliding open during those 60-degree February days. Huge amounts of natural light, beautiful stainless steel tanks, wooden barrels lining the walls. The place is a craft beer geeks wet dream. Speaking of craft beer, theyve got a massive selection for such a small brewery. If memory serves, and it normally doesnt without a struggle, they had over a dozen different house-brewed beers on tap during our visit. Had a few guest beers, too. Went with a bigass flight of eerthing and didnt regret it a single damn bit. Sure, there were a few beers that didnt touch me special, but thats bound to happen. Cant please everyone all the time, right? But on the whole, they pretty much nailed the beer. Everything was fresh, they clearly have a brewer that knows his later tun from his hopback, and if they keep it up theyll probably be in cans soon enough. Among my favorites were the Her Majesty Flanders Red Ale and the Vlad the Impaler imperial stout. Theyve also got a nice little selection of grub to tantalize your buds in between sips. Not just your standard tasting room stuff either. Theyve got salads, flatbreads, wings and some bigger plates like fish and chips and a brilliant charcuterie platter that youve simply gotta dig into. Cmon, meat, cheese, beer, fancy spready things. Whats not to love? We all shared the soup - which I think was some kind of red pepper dealie - the pulled pork sliders and the shrimp quesadilla. There wasnt a single bit of food left behind, so theres that. The service was another bright spot during our visit. Sure, youve gotta go to the bar to order your food and beverages, but after that we were well taken care of. Our water glasses were always filled, wait a sec, I filled our waters from a bottle on the table, anyway, our server checked in on us occasionally, brought us more beer, made some corny jokes, all the stuff youd expect. Just good service. So, in a nutshell, a huge selection of freshly brewed craft beer, some tasty edibles, beautiful space with plenty of extra photons to bathe in, and some service thatll treat you right. If youre from up north like me, its worth a drive, if youre closer go there more often. Its a good thing,

The food and drink were fabulous, but the service was lacking. One bartender in particular seemed annoyed to help some members of the group while others were served quickly and friendly (enter flirtatious). Water was served without ice on an extremely hot day, food was served without utensils. They were out of several beer options and ran out of another throughout the night. When asked for another glass, the said bartender wasnt particularly eager to offer suggestions for alternatives. Although we were a large group, the only time anyone came around was to take away dirty dishes. I was perfectly willing to pay for the overpriced food and beer, but struggled to leave a tip. If you go, be prepared to eat with your fingers and go to the bar for every little thing.

I havent been back in a while but have herd nothing but great about this place. Had the opportunity to stop in this weekend and was over the top impressed. The beer selection is by far the best around when it comes to craft beer. The food selection is really good and has increased since my last visit. My wife and I really enjoyed the food and selection. Service was really good and from what we herd, one of the bartenders was recently recognized in a local magazine. The venue is really cool and they had live music which we also really enjoyed. We come to the area from time to time to visit family and looking forward to coming back as this place is by far ahead of the rest when it comes to atmosphere, food and beer. Big city feel in Canton, Ohio.

The beer was tasty, the olives were different but devoured ... AND the chef has perfected the art of no-grease "frying". You want wings, battered fish or fries CRISPY? Done! Want them a bit softer, and wings saucier? Done! Want them all soft and chewy instead? Done! The portions are smaller than mainstream gluttony and are priced just right in case you want to double up on wings or more, and skip the oh-so-awesome Flatbreads (which you wont, trust me)! I was skeptical because theyre different, but their difference was what sold me (not to mention my taste buds!). Different is GREAT here.

Had the opportunity to stop by this brewery at the recommendation of a friend. Very pleasant experience. Not often I leave reviews but the food, service and beer was impressive. The patio is like nothing you find around here. The service was friendly and very helpful as Im just getting into craft beer. I would recommend some of the "bits & pieces" as they call them on the menu and try a flight. The menu is perfect for a good meal or to share. My wife enjoyed the fact that there was a patio, wine and pleasant selection of music.

Weve become regulars for the simple fact that service and beers are the best around. These guys have brought a big city concept to town and have succeeded at making it what it should be. Live music on the weekend. Food menu is perfect and their beers are the best around. They are taking beer all over the state which is great because it good stuff and Im round to say it comes from our home town.

I had the octoberfest ale...........an OK drink, but to me a little watery. However I thought that the the cost of a growler of octoberfest to go was somewhat outrageous........$29.68 [includes tax],I have never ever been charged that much before.I have bought growlers at over a 100 microbreweries on 49 states, and this price was crazy.!!!!!!!!!

After numerous visits, I can conclude that Royal Docks does everything right. Excellent selection of top-notch craft beers, creative and well executed food selections, friendly and attentive staff, coupled with a modern, casual atmosphere. Royal Docks rivals the best craft breweries in the NE OH area ... and beyond.

Had dinner at Royal Docks with my family to celebrate my birthday. This was my 1st visit. Have to say the food was outstanding (especially the flat bread pizzas). Also the waiters were very attentive and friendly. Appetizers were tasty. Beer was as well. Thanks Curtis for making my 54th birthday an enjoyable one.

Royal Docks is an excellent brewery with great food and staff. Not only do they have beer that fits your taste buds but great food to go along with it. Excellent enviornment and atmosphere with that European pub style you cannot experience else in the Stark County area. All beer lovers this is a must try!
