My fiance and I decided to try Oh Mexico after reading on their website that they had a decently priced lunch menu available until 3pm. Upon arriving just before 2pm we were sat outside and immediately given dinner menus (double the price). We politely asked for a lunch menu and they were provided to us, this is where service went down hill. My fiance (vegetarian) asked for a menu item to be made without the meat in it (a burrito), they informed us that the burrito filling was pre-made because it was "after lunch" when according to the website, lunch is served until 4. She picked another menu item and the server acted like it would be pulling teeth to substitute a cheese enchilada instead of chicken. Food came out quickly and was decent quality, but the 3% service charge and included gratuity are OBVIOUSLY the reason this place doesnt prioritize customer service. The night prior to this we ate at Havana 1957, a Cuban restaraunt literally 20 fit across the street from Oh Mexico, it too has included gratuity; however, our server was very kind and informative, didnt try to up sell us on the most expensive dishes and made us feel valued and welcomed. The 90 dollar meal at Havana 1957 was absolutely worth more than the 35 dollar meal at Oh mexico, and it explains the reason why Havana is always packed and oh Mexico isnt. Id rather pay 90 dollars for a meal thats worth it than pay 35 dollars for a sub-par experience.

I recently ate lunch at Oh! Mexico with my wife and her family. We were a party of eight, plus a baby, and we sat outside on the street with Tony as our waiter. The margaritas were very good. I really enjoyed the jalapeno margarita - not the best jalapeno margarita Ive had, but it was very good with a lot of spice. The traditional margaritas were also very tasty. We ordered guacamole, which was fresh and delicious, as was the salsa and homemade chips. I had been hesitant about trying this place after seeing the mediocre reviews, but we wanted to sit outside and the other nearby Mexican restaurant did not have outdoor seating. We were so happy we chose this place. The food was excellent and had much more interior Mexican flavors rather than the traditional Tex-Mex you often find. The carnitas tacos were awesome. We also had the chicken sonora tacos, which were marinated in a spicy tomato sauce and very good. The tostadas de atun were also delicious and unique. Tony was an exceptionally good waiter and we were all very impressed by the service we received. A great lunch destination.

My group came for breakfast around 11. The service was excellent. The hostess and our waitress were very attentive and regularly came to check in on us and provided great drink and food recommendations. The food was out of this world. I ordered the huevos divorciados, which I can only assume received their name because any reasonable person would leave their spouse to have more. Special commendation goes to the refried beans, which I could eat by the bucket if given the opportunity. I ordered an espresso con panna with my meal, and it was fantastic. I got a taste of the breakfast burrito from a friend. It was great, but I would definitely try some of the more authentic fare first. This place is filled with little details that culminate into a wonderful dining experience. Fresh-squeezed juices, pepper ground over your meal by the wait staff upon request, and adorable little buckets for each of the checks were just some small highlights that make this a must-visit.

Went for an early dinner. They were very busy and it being Miami it rained! Once the rain stopped (about 20 minutes later) we were seated. This place is sort of small with a lot of its seating being outdoors. Keep this in mind in case it does rain. Nonetheless we braved the storm much to our delight! When we did finally eat we started off with their fresh, made to order guacamole that was great. The chips were a little thick but still good. We also had chicken nachos which were really good. They had a wonderful hint of lime. The meal portions were sharable size. We had traditional mojitos to drink and they too were equally as delicious as our meal. Our server was a true professional who was sensitive to the beautiful cultural diversity of Miami. This became evident when she asked if we ate pork... which we dont, so she suggested we go with the vegetarian beans! Immpressive! If you like Mexican, then oh baby you must try Oh Mexico!

To be honest, this place was awful. I will never recommend anyone to eat here. It took nearly 45mins to have nachos to our table and 90mins to have a plate of shared fajitas at our table. I specifically asked the manager for our check immediately after food arrived and it still took another 10 mins to get our check to pay. We had to pay an additional 18% for miserable service as part of the included gratuity system which is total garbage unless its a party of 6 or more. It was just my girlfriend and I and we were severely underwhelmed. Do yourself a favor and eat anywhere else but here. The manager on duty seemed sincerely unconcerned with my dissatisfaction and acted like nothing was wrong. If I could I would give this place zero stars just because of the lack of awareness by management.

I was in the Miami area on business, and chose a hotel for the night in South Beach --just-- to eat here again after having a stellar experience a few years ago. This was a mistake. I wanted to eat here again because the chips previously were made of flour tortillas and were homemade there at the restaurant- hands down, they were the best chips and guac that I had ever had. Fast forward to tonight- bagged, processed corn-based chips, mediocre guacamole, and runny ceviche. Oh and to top it off- they added an 18% tip PLUS a 3% service charge to my check before they even brought it to me. I regularly tip 20% and above for good service, but unfortunately I consider this beyond rude. Good luck to you Oh! Mexico, I now will say the name of your restaurant as Oh,mexico... such a let down. :(

I ordered chicken enchiladas @ $18.00. They were just OK. They came with a half-cup of rice and halfcup of beans. Quite overpriced for what I got. Wife got chicken fajitas @ $26.00. They were also OK. Came w same amt of rice and beans as well. They were definitely extremely overpriced. While the outdoors atmosphere is nice, the value is very low. In other words, the list of benefits obtained for the price is very low. The Havana restaurant right next door had an outdoor area as well and more reasonable prices. Wish we would have gone there instead. Probably will not return again given the low value proposition. Service was good though. Background: business degree and food connoisseur.

The staff is not alert or engaging. Every time we needed assistance we had to stare in that direction to have someone come over. Ridiculous. When it was time to split the check, the wait staff refused to split the checks to include our taxes & tips. We had to sit at the table for 25 minutes figuring out our individual checks. A simple function that could be completed by computer. I work in hospitality so I know how to use the software that he claims is limited. This place is the perfect example of horrible service that Miami Beach is infamous for. Will be my first & last time eating at this place. Save your money & time. Eat elsewhere.
