Wow, this place was terrible. As a recent transplant from Oklahoma my wife and I were hoping to find a "decent" Mexican/Tex-Mex place here in Pitt, but this place was not it at all. Salsa was bland but the chips weren’t too bad (hard to mess those up). My wife had the pork with green chiles and tomatios, which wasn’t bad, just nothing special and probably is the only reason why one might consider giving this place more than one star... but my meal so terrible, I pray that if you read this review you will not go there. I ordered a dish that had chicken, spinach, mushrooms and green peppers sautéed together then covered in queso. Sounds great, right? Should have been because it is very simple, BUT the spinach was from a can. Think back to the last time you make the mistake of eating canned spinach... do you remember the intoxicating aroma and bitterness that comes from predigested canned spinach? Well, it so eloquently permeated through the dish to make it quite repulsive. On top of that, the mushrooms were from can as well and devoid of any flavor. Service was also very average and I think I would rather eat dog food next time (hmmm... maybe it was?). Hope this steers you from ever go there, I wish someone would have given me this advice.

So I am being extra critical of this restaurant for one major reason... They use some strange white Velveeta-like cheese in a handful of their dishes. I experienced it in the chile relleno, and I believe it was also in their quesadilla rellena. I have lived in Southern California for four years and spent two of them immersed in the Mexican culture. I dont recall once having this nasty cheese in an authentic dish. Also, the ground beef should be substituted for some carne asada and removed from the menu. Its sad, because apart from these "fails," this place is the real deal. Salsa and chips were fantastic, ambiance was moderate (but good for this type of place), and service was fast and mildly friendly. But for heaven sakes, replace this Velveeta garbage for some Queso Fresco, Oaxaca, Cotija, ANYTHING! Message me when this is fixed and Ill come back. Otherwise, Ill keep searching for a real Mexican restaurant in Pittsburgh.

Where do I start, Ive been craving Mexican for a few months now. My boyfriend isnt a fan but he caved in, while shopping in Bridgeville we decided to go to El Paso. Strike 1. Our beer was warm Strike 2. They have roaches Strike 3. Our food was terrible The taco was soggy and all it had in it was meat and lettuce. The enchiladas were indescribable, no really, we couldnt tell what it was. I motioned for our waiter, he came over and I politely told him to give us our check for the 2 warm beers, that we had, we would not be paying for whatever the food was that they brought to us. We then drive to the other side of the parking lot and ate at our favorite restaurant, TEXAS ROADHOUSE, shout out to our man RONNIE, (manager) food and staff is always spot on. Ive never ever had a bad meal at the Roadhouse, we give them

I arrived around 430pm on a Thursday. The place was empty. I was greeted promptly. I was led to a booth. The booth was clean, and had enough room for 4 adults. The menu was clean, and not sticky like some places. I oreded a water. It was brought quickly to my table along with chips, and salsa. The chips were fresh, and the salsa was mild, but good. I oreded steak, mushroom, and bacon fajita. It came within 10 minutes. It was outstanding. When the waiter brought it to my table it was still sizzling. The mushrooms and bacon were put on top of the steak with sauce. It wasnt neat, but still very presentable. Along with it came a dish of beans, and rice. They were both very good. Also came with fresh tortillas which were soft, and tasty. All in all very clean, quite place to have a great meal.

I have had authentic mexican food when I lived in the California area. This resturant was a great disappointment. My husband had the pork dish with bell peppers and onions, shredded lettuce on the side.....tasted old and on the 3rd bite, he experienced a large piece of fat..., he ate no more. I had chicken enchiladas with salsa verde, it was just okay, could of used some seasoning in the chicken. The waiter we had was distant and uncaring. We would of sent the pork dish back, but the attitude displayed in the resturant was that it would not make a difference. The waiter removed my husbands full and basically untouched plate without a word , never inquired if something was wrong. We will not return.

I love this place. Ive been their customer since they opened in 2011. Food is always great and super fast. Chips and salsa are amazing. And their fried ice cream is to die for! I love the wall art that the owner of the restaurant creates. Theyve changed it at least 4 times and every time its a masterpiece! I dont love close by but every time I am even remotely close to bridgeville, that is my to go place.

My boyfriend and I have been to many Mexican restaurants around the pittsburgh area and we by far like El Paso the best. Their food is always delicious. My boyfriend always gets the burrito patron. He swears by it. We have had several things from the menu and everything is always great. We highly recommend them.

Having lived on the Mexican border for years and experienced "authentic" Mexican food from restaurants to homemade - this place is awesome! By far the best option Ive found in Pittsburgh for Mexican food. The service is great, food comes fast and you wont leave hungry!

This place has terrible service. It might have good food, but I waited 10 minutes at the front desk waiting for someone to address the four people standing in line to be seated at one of the visible empty tables before I left, so Ill never know.

Wow this place was a major disappointment. Everything they served was either reheated or canned.. nothing had any flavor. Nothing in that restaurant could even be considered cooking. Youd be better off going to Taco Bell.

The food was great, the prices are great and the service was awesome. I have visited all over the south west and Mexico and the food is right on. The services is always quick, and I have never had a bad meal.

I love these hole in the wall mexican restaurants across the country. This one in particular has unique choices that actually taste well. love the simple cheap decor like a true hole in the wall!
