We attended a birthday dinner at Rosa Mexicano in Mary Brickell Village. Because the group was over 8 people, we were FORCED to eat what they served us and at $45 per person no less. The problem with this was because of medical issues, I cannot eat gluten or red meat. I explained this to the server and he was arrogant and rude about it and told me that I could eat off the regular menu, but would still be responsible for the $45, plus the cost of what I ordered. The Grilled Shrimp entree was on the list, and was assured that this was gluten free, so I figured I could eat that. I asked the server if a small plate could be prepared for me due to cross contamination concerns (people using the same serving utensils to serve food), and not only did he refuse, he was rude and sarcastic about it and said, "Im sure youll be just fine", like he was talking to a 2 year old. Instead I had to ask everyone at the table (many of whom I did not know) to ask that I serve myself first, something that could have easily been avoided. So for $45, I had a few chips, 4 grilled shrimp and a little bit of rice. As for the others at our table, they were not pleased at all. There was very little food and we were there for 3 and a half hours, because the service was so slow. The other guests thought the food was just okay, and that there was no way close to $45 worth. If you are going there to eat off the regular menu, Im sure you will have a better experience, at least food wise. However, the poor service was enough for me to never return again. And if you plan on having dinner with 9 or more people, take your business elsewhere, because this place is a ripoff.

Poor service but the food was wonderful. Living in the Washington DC area I have dined at two different Rosa Mexicano locations in the DC area. What was lacking at the Miami location was the service that is present at other Rosa Mexicano locations. Shortly after being seated, our drink and food order was taken, however drinks didnt arrive until after the food was served. We requested chips and salsa, but didnt receive these. We also had to requested silverware, as the table wasnt set with silverware when seated. The wait staff did not refresh our drinks during the meal even though they were empty halfway through. What I found particularly disturbing, was while we were thinking over if we wanted dessert one of the wait staff, cleaned the table we were sitting at and placed glasses, utensils, and napkins for the next customers. Needless to say dessert was an easy decision, as it was made clear by the wait staff they wanted the tabled cleared for future costumers.

I did my anniversary dinner here a couple of days ago, since it was on a weekday night, they were able to arrange a private room for me and my wife, and all I can say is WOW, they absolutely blew me and my wife away, I did the reservation over the phone and told them my plan over the phone, the staff, the manager, everybody did an outstanding job, to make that day extra special, and the price they did all this for, was insanely affordable!!! All the different plates brought to our table were one better than the next, the waiter service was excellent, the room was really nicely decorated, everybody was a 10 and absolute 10!! My wife was reaaaally happy with the surprise and how special the night was. Everybody made it just perfect, thank you everyone that was involved!

For large groups - mediocre at best :( We went here as a large group of 18 people and while the staff tried hard to make us feel welcome and accommodate our needs, I must say that I left very disappointed, partially because our food took forever to arrive. In my personal view, the food was mediocre at best. Some of my colleagues told me that it was really good. Others commented on the fact that they had asked for a not-so-spicy (i.e. hot) option and what they got was very hot (spicy) indeed. In the end, I guess, it boils down to this: if you like Mexican food and you know what to get, youll be happy enough, but maybe not leave excited. The environment was very dark and the air conditioning set way too cold. No free WiFi.

The guacamole is very good here compared to anything else in the Miami area while the salsa is OK. There is no hot version of the salsa. The main course (vegetarian) is only acceptable. The enchiladas were boring and they do not have the signature red sauce that is used in Mexican restaurants. The mexican/spanish rice while colorful is bland to the tastebuds and lacks that typical flavor or tomato and spices. The black beans are made well - but again largely flavorless. Mexican food in Miami just doesnt cut it so far for me.

WORST F*&KING SERVICE!!!!!!! I cant believe how RUDE the staff here is!!!! Get a clue! love the food, HATE the service. I am on hold EVERY time I call, no matter what time of day. I finally got through after waiting for 10+ minutes and calling back after being disconnected & asked for delivery, and the girl on the phone acted annoyed and said slow & LOUD & tersely: "itll be at least TWO hours for delivery! then put me on hold again!!!!" GRRRR! F*&KING get a clue, management!!!!!

The experience was not a bad one, but I am used to more in Mexican places. Living in Miami and nobody in this restaurant beside the 2 bartenders(that is what the server told us) speaks Spanish. The tortillas they brought with my meal were from the supermarket, the ones that when you steam them brake in pieces and taste like paper... those, maybe somebody needs to introduce them at list with Maseca. The have great cinnamon cookies with the check...excelent cookies yummy.

I HATE this place! I used to consider this place one of my favorite restuarants until two days ago.I ate the pollo asado and the mushroom quesadilla. My stomach was so bloated.I threw up 6 times within 10 min and I have been sick since. The black beans were old and I ended up going to the doctor and they told me it was food poisoning!I I will never recommend this place where they serve rotten beans!Good Luck to any of you who eat there.I basically paid to get sick.

Rosa is your typical Americanized version of "Mexican food", not unlike El Torito, Chevys and countless others. I sometimes go here for happy hour, but even that can be tedious and not so happy. The drink specials are nothing to write home about, and the food is nothing Id order again. I stick to the complimentary chips & salsa during Happy Hour. Pro-tip: The bar area is very small, so if you dont arrive early enough for HH, youll be well out of luck.

Im giving them 5 stars for their salsa alone! The ambience is great; the lights on the ceilings and the running water on the wall really make you feel like youre dining under the stars. & whats really cute is that they serve you water from a tequila bottle, into a sipping glasses. Besides that, the waitors are very down to earth and friendly and the food is great, although the portions arent very large. I would definitely recommend.

Fast friendly and pretty damn delicious, we ordered the carnitas nachos and chicken quesadilla. So full of flavor. The hortatory is delicious. The only bad thing is your food gets cold really fast sitting outside. Very busy street, lots of traffic. Hard to find parking. Other than that, its pretty good. I will come back and sit in my car to eat. **i came back today, food was delicious!!!**
