My wife and I were in Melbourne visiting old university friends and their new born baby (3 month old). They recommended the place so we decided to have breakfast there. Ill be upfront with it, our friends are caucasian, i am african american and my wife is hispanic. As soon as we walked into the place heads were turning. All through the service we were being gawked at. Very uncomfortable. Our friends, my wife and I ignored this rude behavior from the other patrons, had good conversation and overall enjoyed our time together. By the way, the baby girl was as quiet as a mouse. She didnt make a sound! Very well behaved and adorable. The waitress was friendly, and her service was prompt. The selection of food was good. The portion size once the food came out was good. The food it self was tasty. Another issue we had that made us uncomfortable. I ordered breakfast, in particular the Hungry Man Special, which includes pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage and ham. When my food came out, everything was there including a slice of watermelon. No where in the description is watermelon included. In case some readers do not know, there is a stereotype that all african amerians love watermelon. I actually do not like watermelon. The mother of the baby actually laughed and said, "never ever have I seen them serve watermelon here especially with breakfast". It was said in jest , but the point was clear. Regardless, I removed the watermelon from my plate, ate my food and enjoyed the company of my friends. The problem with this diner is with the atmosphere we encountered, and attitude of the other diners. Cannot not recommend this diner; you may feel uncomfortable eating here.

I tried it one more time hoping for a better experience but this is it. The fish special was terrible, and to add insult to injury the cocktail sauce looked like it had been frozen for 6 months and then sat out for 3. It literally looked moldy, I asked for another one, only to get something that looked worse. The waitress was totally strange, at the end of the meal we were waiting for our check, she saw us getting our stuff together and she disappears in the back, finally we go up front where some old coot, the father i guess is fishing around under the register, he doesnt say squat, no how was it, no nothing, finally someone gets the waitress and she acts like a total witch! She hands us the check and stares at us, finally I said are we suppose to pay at the table and she says YES... oh well, then she stares at us some more so I say, well can we pay up here and she says Yeah, Still more staring, finally I said Well who do we pay and she replies You pay me and reaches in her purse for change for a 50 dollar bill. Shes giving us change out of her wallet and putting the money in her purse. OMG okay whatever, the place is weird, I felt like we were in the twilight zone. Thats enough for us!!!

We went there this morning, (12/4/15) for breakfast. We were seated and then waited seven minutes before someone came and took our drink order. We waited ten more minutes for her to come back and take our order. incidentally I had to go up and get our straws. I ordered the loaded biscuits and gravy and when it finally came I did not get the home fries with it. The waitress came back when I was about half way through the meal and offered to go get them but by then it was to late, I would have been done. My wife had the ranchero ?? with toast. The corned beef hash was burnt black, the toast didnt come and when the waitress finally came back, (see when above) we told her about it and she said she would get it, she forgot again, then remembered and finally brought it. It was stone cold and had been when it was buttered as the butter did not melt on it at all. My wife could not eat hers and told the waitress so. No offer was made to adjust the bill or anything. My bill was $ 19.15 I went up and paid it and added a one cent tip. Maybe that might get her attention but I doubt it. Needless to say that as this was our second bad experience at this restaurant, we probably will not go back again.

I usually order my dinner to go when I eat from here but decided to go with a few friends and have breakfast one day. The food was very reasonably priced and it was a large portion of food (more then I could finish). The entire meal with a drink and tip cost about $7.00. I was very pleased with the service. The server always passed by to make sure that everything was ok. It was a very casual atmosphere. The food was prepared quickly and was served hot. We had no complaints about the place. Dont let the other reviews sway you from going here because the food is really good and its a great place to eat. They also have some of the biggest burgers that Ive ever had and they taste amazing. I usually order them for take out and the orders have always been ready on time when I arrive to pick them up. Id recommend this place to all of my family and friends!

Hair in the food, thats the news!. We have 4 people from 9/14/11 that had lunch there and they told us that the owner would not take the food off the bill. The waitress brought the first meal out and it was sent back with hair in it, them the replacement meal came out with hair melted inside the cheese. It was sent back and that was when the owner told them he would not take it off the bill. When I called him, he said lied and said that the food was eaten and that the customer put the hair in there food as a joke. Hard to believe that a owner of a local restaurant would treat people so bad. it took him 20 minutes of being mad to clam down and take the food off the bill. Then he told the customers he was calling the police and followed them to the parking lot and took down their plate number.... BAD PEOPLE RUN THIS PLACE>>>>CHECK FOR HAIR!!!

Original review (2 stars): Not terrible, but I wont be going back. Service was slow. When my sandwich finally came, it had shredded lettuce all over it, although I requested no lettuce. I picked it off with my hands, until the server finally realized he still hadnt brought us silverware (although he said he was going to get it three times before). The sandwich was pretty good once I got the lettuce off, but a little dry. The fries I ordered with it never came. They did bring some free pita & dip to apologize for the mistake. Edit: A friend convinced me to go back on Greek buffet night. It was delicious, and our waitress was awesome. I did have to steal one set of silverware from another table. Anyway, I would now recommend this place, but ONLY on Greek buffet night.

Horrible customer service....my coworkers and I use to order lunch from here all the time we would even recommend our customers to go eat here we tried ordering a couple times after the first incident but they seem to just keep getting worse..today we called to order and ask what specials they had the girl answered said she did have specials but she didnt know what they were, and she did not have them in front of her then she goes on to say rudely but if I did have them in front of me I would not be able to read them to you because I have a lime at the door then she hung up on me we were absolutely stunned I had her on speaker phone with everyone that was going to order they just lost all of our business
