I honestly cant see how anyone gave this place a good review. It was the worst Chinese food and possibly the worst food I have ever tried. After reading the reviews I was actually anxious to try it but its a bit out of the way. Yesterday I had a chance to check it out. I ordered the Kung Poa chicken lunch special with Hot and Sour soup and was brought a small bowl of murky liquid with about 7 uncooked button mushrooms floating on top. It was ice cold. I dont mean warm I mean cold like out of the fridge cold. I didnt dare eat it. i was going to mention it to the lady but she kept her back turned to me and it looked like she was texting or something. While I was waiting for my Kung Poa to arrive a screaming match erupted from the kitchen and I thought there was going to be a homicide or something. The chicken arrived and the screaming match continued. On the plate was what looked like a thick gravy with hundreds of raisin size pieces of (chicken?) floating in it, some chopped celery and a sprinkling of peanuts. Just the look made me nervous. A quick sample and I knew it wasnt good. As the screaming match continued in the back I quickly made my way to the lady and said I just want ed to pay so I could leave. She apologized and the rest is history. It was worth the ten bucks to escape. I would never eat here or ever recommend it to anyone. Stay clear. It wont let me give 0 stars hence the one star rating.

I NEVER write reviews but feel I need to let others know about my experience at this restaurant. My friend and I recently stopped in at Red Star 30 minutes before closing time where we planned on eating quickly and leaving. We had a young male server, and another young male who came from the kitchen with our food who were both obviously not impressed with serving us and did not hide it. The food was not that good and you could tell it was thrown together quickly but we were starving so we ate it. Now three days later both my friend and I are STILL SICK after developing nausea and diarrhea shortly after eating the food. This is one of the only times in my life I remember being sick from eating out somewhere! Im just praying they didnt intentionally do something to the food...

The food has completely gone down. They have two young men working there that will screw up your order. Those guys need to be fired or need to go to school for customer service. We order food, when we got there showed them the list off everything we had order. They said everything was in the bag. It wasnt had to go back they told us we got what we order. They wont last long if they keep that attitude up. Many other places we can go with better customer service.

All the negative reviews are just rediculous!! We have been eating here forever, and have never had a bad experience... some people are impossible to please, they expect perfection... the staff here is nice, the food is always fresh and delicious!! Everytime we eat there. The tea is out of this world... oh and there sweet and sour soup? Addictive!

This is a great little jewel of a place. Simply decorated, clean,quiet. Terrific number of menu items. Very sizeable portions. Great place for a quiet dinner as a couple but took family visiting here and ordered the "pick 4 entrees" and it easily served 5 adults and 3 children. Takeout is speedy and efficient. We highly recommend Red Star!!!!!

Very tasty food. Had lunch and my total with a drink was $7.39. I got Szechuan Chicken. It came with a spring roll and pork fried rice. Super delish! Ill be coming back.
