After hearing some good things about this place I thought I would try it out myself. Dont crucify me for being the person in Jax that doesnt think LaNop is all that. Thats why I thought this place might fill that void for some GOOD Mexican food. Wrong! It started out ok, brought chips right away and my hungry toddler appreciated that but the booth wasnt really put together all the way- everything- napkin holder, hot sauces, condiments were sitting in the middle of the table. No big deal, I can live with that and fix it myself. We got our order in a good amount of time except the waiter didnt even ask what my son would like to drink, no big deal again b/c he can drink my water with me. I ordered the guacamole for my son to go with the chips, he loves fresh guacamole(like at Chipotle) and the menu says everything is made fresh, right? Umm no, the guacamole was like the kind you get from the grocery store, really smooth, processed and bland. Not chunky or flavorful. I swear it looks just like the kind you see them pushing at Publix during Superbowl time. My son is 2 so he ate some of it anyways, but for 3.50 it was not worth it. I ordered the Fajitas Texanas, it was really BLAND and the meat was tough and really chewy . =( My husband ordered and enchilada/taco combo. His was ok, I mean cant go to wrong with that b/c its covered in sauce and cheese right? I do have to say the beans and cheese were very good and I have a strong aversion to beans in places like this after seeing a episode of Kitchen Nightmares, but they were the one part of meal that I liked. Our waiter was friendly enough but not that attentive, never filled up our drinks and we had to ask for more chips, (thats all our son would eat) He spent more time talking to a another table about ordering something special as a take out for someone not there,I understand Spanish enough to get their convo but come on man, you got 6 other tables you can tend to. The kicker was when we got the check they seemed to be having issues with their credit card processing system and asked if we had cash instead, they were apologetic but out of the 4 tables that he brought checks to none of us had enough cash for our bills, I mean seriously who carries cash these days?? I left and went to get cash leaving my husband there, but 10 min later their systems came back up. Working in the retail and food, there should ALWAYS be a backup system- such as manual processing. It was ridiculous. We may give it another shot and I will order something different, bring cash and sippy cup for my son. Ill let ya know.

Wow... The food here tonight was great...What happened later... No. My fiance had to pay with a 100 dollar bill. The change was supposed to be 47 dollars. When the waitress brought the change, my husband found 27 dollars(1 ten, 3 fives, and 2 one dollar bills). And he nicely explained that we were missing 20 dollars. She said that she didnt do the change, but she talk to who did. When she got back with the check book we had a twenty, 3 fives, and two one dollar bills. The ten, I noticed was gone. And thats exactly what we were short of. So this time we called the manager, who coincidentally was the cashier. And he had the audacity to more or less accuse my fiance or pocketing the money. And I blew. I fiercely pointed at the camera and told him to take a look and that we havent pocketed a dime. He told my fiance Ill give you the money but he knew he gave the correct change! When he gave my fiance the money, my fiance thanked him for being a gentleman and attempted to shake hands. The manager COMPLETELY ignored my husbands gesture and marched off after a very cold thank you. The food was good. But, if you go... Count your change with your waiter/waitress standing there. No one knows what proper customer service is here.

Just moved into a home close by this restaurant and was disappointed. Cheese tasted like Velveta very creamy and sweet. The ground meat tasted like just ground meat with no seasoning. What is with the white sweet cheese they put on everything that tastes terrible. The bean burrito was watery and tasteless too. Rice didnt have any distinctive flavor Id rave about. Overall bland flavored recipes. It appears they need competition but cant find one as the owner has done an excellent job saturating the area with his restaurants. The restaurant service was good and the look of the restaurant is good its just the food needs serious overhauling with the basic recipes. I have no choice but to continue searching for a good tasting Mexican restaurant Im sad to say. Ive been in three of the other sister restarants with exactly the same recipes. Does anyone know of any good tasteing Mexican restaurants in the Jacksonville general area that they would recommend not affiliated with this chain?. Im willing to drive at this point.

I dont know why I go back to this place. The food is good when you dont have to wait forever to order it. Service is awful!! On 2 separate occasions I have ordered chicken chimichanga and the girl has brought me beef. The second time she wanted to argue with me & tell me that I ordered beef. I KNOW I didnt order beef bc I dont eat beef!!! If she is going to be a waitress & cant remember what people order, then she needs to write it down or start working in the kitchen!!!

Enjoyed my meal....only down side..... the waitress wanted to charge me extra for salsa when my meal was served. Really???? That is really cheesy!!!! We eat here almost every week and this is the first time this has happened! Very unhappy and the tip will be adjusted accordingly! Next week I will go over to Los Portables on CR210 West.... they serve individual salsas!!!!!!! Stick it Casa Maria!!!!! You wont see me here for some time!!!!!!!

Rich dark wood interior with a bustling lunch time crowd. This is my local work lunch go-to Mexican restaurant. Portions are generous and the complimentary chips and salsa are homemade, fresh, and tasty. I find the spiciness of the salsa can substantially from batch to batch, personally I enjoy a bit of heat, but if youre the type that doesnt touch anything remotely spicy then keep an eye out.

The service was Horrible!! My Husband and I went last night, We asked nicely for more chips and Salsa and the waiter rolled his eyes he brought more chips but no salsa, we had to ask someone else. Never once did he come by our table and ask if we would like a refill on our drinks, he just stood around by the bar. It was a terrible experience will not be going back.

The food was decent, but for price not so bad. The service needs serious improvement. It took about 10 mins before we got to order food. We didnt get straws til 5 mins after the drinks came, didnt get complementary chips and salsa til 5 mins after we ordered and didnt even have silverware when the food got there.

Awful. I got tacos to go, asked to not wrap them so by the time I crossed back over to work, they wouldnt be soggy, well they were wrapped in foil in the box and the box was wrapped, so i had some pretty disgusting soggy tacos. Do your self a favor, go to Moes or Chipolte just down the street.
