Went for my Birthday, making this the 3rd year in a row. Arrived on a Wednesday, around 3pm. (Not lunch rush or dinner crowd) Was seated, waited FOREVER for the girl to come & ask for our drink order. Waited an ETERNITY for her to take out food order (I actually flagged her down & had to ask "can we order our food?"). The girl was in her early/mid 20s (I unfortunately didnt pay attention to her name). I ordered a pick 3 but was charged for an "add-on"...whatever. Was never brought my fried ice cream which was a little disappointing, but the service was so terrible & we had been there so long because of the slow service that I didnt have time or energy to put up a fight (say something). I got home & by the end of the night I emailed them, because it was so terrible. I wasnt trying to get another free meal. I just wanted to bring the poor service to their attention because this is the 2nd time in the last 3 months that Ive been there & had AWFUL service. The manager writes back the following & this is directly from the email he sent... Sorry for your experience, but when I tried to verify your statement I discovered this: The manager on duty yesterday at our Fort Myers Store was the Director of Operations, as he was covering a vacation, and he said that he did all the Birthday speeches and was checking on staff and guests throughout the day time hours and did not have any customer issues during the day. Since you did not provide a servers name or guest check/receipt # and based on the time of day, we researched all the guest checks for that lunch day part and could only come up with the attached guest check. It clearly shows that they subtracted $22.00 for the Birthday Meal & Fried Ice Cream. I also looked at our Birthday Gallery and found a birthday picture taken at the same table which clearly shows a Fried Ice Cream served ? We researched your name and found pictures under (**my name which I am removing** which bear a strong resemblance to the guest in the Birthday Picture taken. At this point, I think we could both just agree that it is time to go to another Mexican restaurant as you stated. **actually when I reviewed the guest check they discounted more than is allowed on the attached check as they took off an "add on" taco when two entrees were ordered and policy is that we only provide a free entrée as printed on the menu...which disallows "add-ons" Dirk Atherton President Iguana Mia Restaurants I cannot believe the audacity of this guy! Also, he attached a picture (of some random girl who is NOT me but he tried to say is me) & also a copy of a receipt (also not mine). This guy is a POOR excuse for a business owner & I honestly cannot believe this place has been in business this long with the terrible customer service.

DO NOT EAT HERE The Chimi Changa was the worst one I have ever had. It was dry, had practically NO cheese. It tasted like canned chicken deep fried in a tortilla; cardboard would have more flavor. The Spanish rice was equally as dry. After trying to eat 4 or 5 bites, I had to send it back. The server didn’t even bother to take it off the bill, I had to ask. When the manager came over, he eluded that I had eaten the whole thing, which was incorrect because it was DISGUSTING. The kids quesadilla was made with the same DRY chicken. The staff and management needs training on how to assist customers who are not happy with their food, because these two individuals have NO clue. Also, the health department should be called in to inspect the hole in the server station that is visible from the dining area. Based on that, I am sure there are other violations which is probably why the restaurant is so dark during the daytime.

I walk into Iguana Mia and I simply didnt like the ambience, no spanish music playing it was just a restaurant with mexican decor but the whole feeling isnt there. They sit us down in a booth and a couple of seconds later they sit someone behind me in a booth...and any movement that person made I could feel..... which was annoying..just imagine trying to view the menu when bam! their moving...lol....Then it took them about 20 minutes to actually take our drink order....-_- yes drink order...Finally I asked the lady to take our order and to move us...after that I was annoyed...the food was ok too greasy..and it gave me a belly ache...anyhow...service was bad they employ people who are unenthusiastic...-_-...I not a picky eater I eat and enjoy any ambience but this placed sucked it felt so boring...not what I expected...

On Nov 1, 2010 at 6:30 we arrived and while the food was good, the service for our group of 9 (6 adults & 3 kids) was terrible. It took over an hour to bring our food (food arrived about 7:45!). Only one of the appetizers arrived & then both were on the bill! (We did get it adjusted off). The waiter had to be requested to bring silverware twice. Forget about getting any free refills - but if they could charge you for it - they were more than happy to get you a refill. Because of our group size - the 18% gratuity was added to the bill. But all told - that waiter did the minimal he could to deserve that. I doubt that I will visit there again.

The servers were great. The margaritas were weak. The flautas were the best Ive ever had but Thank goodness I told them to put the garnishes on the side. Very weird. Pickeled onion, feta cheese, cabbage, carrots and romaine lettuce? Ewww the beans arent refried either and its like the made up their own version of things. Even the sour cream had a different name. Maybe because it was like runny soup. The servers were really good though and the flautas superb.

What a shame. The food was amazing going down, HOWEVER it made both my husband and myself SICK SICK SICK for days! I am very disappointed because if that had not happened I would have definitely gone back, besides the prices being a little high for the quality, the atmosphere and service was awesome. Considering the fact though that it messed both of our digestions up, we will not be back and I would recommend proceeding with caution if at all!

Server was fantastic.. the sunset rita was great and so was the sangria swirl.. Food was ok.. chicken quesadilla was good and yellow rice and black beans were ok.. quantity for price is good.. but the queso dip was cold and runny, didnt look homemade.. the salsa looked fresh but had absolutely no spice to it whatsoever.. looks like a legit Mexican place, but I suppose its what you get when only one Mexican was working there as a busgirl

The food here is real authentic Mexican food, not tex-mex like you get in 99% of "Mexican" places. The waiter Jose is my absolute favorite and he does a phenomenal job, but the other servers can be a bit lacking. The prices are a bit high, but you get a LOT of food and its delicious. Ive never had bad food here and Ive been coming for 3 years. Really great place and Jose is one of the best waiters Ive ever met.
