Excellent service! Food = Meh. 4 Stars for service. 2 Stars for taste of food. Maybe it was just what I had ordered, Wet Steak Burrito, but it wasnt very good. The "salsa" that was on it looked/tasted like it came straight from a can and was pure salt water. (Not saucy like the Burritos Suizo Im used to. The steak itself was beyond salty, cut so small it might as well have been ground beef, and tasted as if it had been made earlier that day and reheated. Beans and rice were good however. Everything was salty (And I LOVE salty, but my god, I couldnt chug my glasses of water fast enough.) My friend had ordered a taco salad with chicken (which in my opinion was even worse than mine.) This is NOT authentic Mexican food, if it is, its from a part of Mexico that no one has ever heard of. The guy working the counter was exceptionally friendly, just dont take his recommendations on food or you may end up disappointed like we were. I am more than likely going to return and try something different, as it is a local place and the service like I said, was exceptional.

I have been coming to this place for years great food and prices. But I keep having bad experience with the guy at the front counter named Chuck he is very rude and disrespectful. We visted the restaurant on Thursday for lunch and he took our order with an attitude he started yelling at my husband saying he was a gangster and he didnt like the way he looks at him. He started cursing saying hes a mother F and to get out of the restaurant. My husband told him to have respect as the restarant was filled with customers for lunch hour. Once the food came out he threw the bag at him. We got home to eat our food and tacos were spilled all in the container. This is not the first time hes been disrespectful. Its sad that I cant even go to my favorite restaurant without being disrespected. I suggest that you guys get rid of him before you start losing customers.

As a Mexican, I can recognize that the food is quite good. I love the carnitas tacos! The only problem I see in this place is the cashier with ego issues; hes rude and racist. Im glad I didnt tip him, because he wasnt friendly at all and I had to pick up my food tray from the counter. If hes the owner he should hire a friendly cashier or his business would never grow. Its funny how every time I go to Chipotle restaurant, which is a fast food Mexican restaurant and all the people working over there (who mostly are Americans), treat me really well. Its because Chipotle management actually understands what business is about. Anyways! If you want good Mexican food in Fort Myers just come here and ignore the cashiers rudeness, at the end of the day its only a human being with the need of happiness!

To the few people who said the guy at the counter is racist and unfriendly to Hispanics; Im White and he treated us the same way. I dont think he was purposely being rude. It looked more like he was high or stoned out of his mind and was trying to cope with reality. His eyes looked wasted. As far as the food goes, it was TOP NOTCH! I dont know who they have in the kitchen, but he/she definitely knows what theyre doing! It was excellent and I would definitely go back. Crappy location though, but what are you gonna do?

It is expensive and not authentic at all!!! I order the steak cooked in salsa with beans and rice. The meat tasted so salty I felt like I needed to drink a gallon of water after eating it. My boyfriend ordered 12 tacos when we got home they only gave us 6 and the tortillas tasted like the ones they sell at Walmart it was truly disgusting. Dont waste your money coming here.

Food is average. Owner/manager is not very friendly. We grabbed a whole hot sauce bucket to our table since restaurant was not so busy. He came up and took it off our table saying "these are for everybody". Sorry, I dont feel like walking back and forth to get the individual hot sauce bottles. Felt bad, wifes first the being there. Not going back.

This is the only place we go for tacos.. The best ever!! We have tried a few other Mexican restaurants, nothing compares to Jalapenos...Every dish we have tried from here is delicious!! And as far as the gentleman at the front counter, he is so nice and helpful, always treated us good!! Forever our go to place!!

I am from Detroit and finding GOOD Mexican food was a problem until we hit Jalepenos!!!! The best Mexican food northeast of Mexico!!! MY wife and myself have found the spot that we like to go at least 1or2 times a week!!!! Good food, great service!!!!!! Dont pass by this place, youll be sure to be Pleased!!!

I havent had a bad experience here yet. Best food. Awesome tacos. No matter what type of meat you get its always perfect and moist. Great value. Fairly priced. If you dont see something on the menu or cant make up your mind the staff is always great at helping out and their choices wont let you down.

I have been here at least 5 times because the location is convenient and EVERY SINGLE time I regret it. The main issue is the bland food and the customer service. Seriously have you ever paid for guacamole and pico and then had to pay for the chips to eat it with too????? Crazy!!! Never again!!

Ok, maybe a Wet Burrito is not authentic Mexican, but coming from the home of home of the wet burrito, west Michigan, this place puts out a top notch meal. I closed my eyes and thought I was back at the Adobe or LaCantina. Superb... Youve got my business as long as I live in this area..

I have been eating at Jalapeno's for close to 10 years. I work near downtown and eat there several times a week. Absolutely the best around! Try the Horchata! EDIT- I am here right now and my gf is having a wet burrito and it is enormous, the previous commenter is wrong.

Food is Good but every time I go there, the cashier has a negative vibe. both male and female. you get that " what do you want and give me your money vibe" There is no politeness or smile. Take your food and get out of here is the feeling I always get from buying here.

I love this place. Stop in everytime Im in town. The gorditas are great and they have supremely good salsa, however, chips and salsa are not gratis. I enjoy the carnitas here. Try a torta with the shredded pork to really gain an appreciation of how good the carnitas are.

So far, the best I have run across in the Fort Myers area. Quality, price, selection and service is great. The atmosphere is a little drab, but for a quick lunch or take out, it is good. This is now one of my go to spots. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Food is very good!  What is good about it  is that its not over-spiced, but various sauces are provided to heat it up if that is your thing. Btw: the guy at the front was friendly enough. No problems....would eat here again if in the area.
