Usually the food is okay, but the service is always inconsistent. But last night was a comedy of errors on the part of this restaurant. Disinterested and down right rude servers and I doubt Ill go back. At 7:13pm I called in with a simple order of beef Pho. I was told 10-15 minutes and I showed up on time. I told the young lady behind the bar my name and that I was there to pick up an order. She said shed check and disappeared into the kitchen. I sat down at the bar next to another single woman, apparently also waiting for her to-go order. A man walked in and asked for his to-go order. He was offered a drink, served a beer, paid and he sat down at the bar. I noticed to-go bags near the servers area at the bar. The man received his order and left. The woman next to me got frustrated and left. The first young lady came behind the bar to get wine and I asked her to check on my order, please. She said she would, and disappeared into the kitchen. Another server came behind the bar and I asked for a glass of water as I was waiting on a to-go order. He just looked at me as if I were speaking a foreign language and disappeared into the kitchen. No water and no offer of a drink. I would have left if I wasnt so hungry. I saw the bag still sitting near the servers area. I walked over and asked if it was mine. It was. More than thirty minutes have now gone by. I asked the server to make me a fresh order, because now the Pho was certainly cold. He told me that they dont heat to-go orders. WTH? The 1st young lady came over to ring someone else up and I told her that my order had been sitting there for half an hour. She never came back to me either time that I had asked her to check on my food. I remarked calmly to the staff that their service was very poor and unprofessional. I only live 7 minutes away. Yes, the Pho was ice cold, the noodles were a congealed mess and there was only meat and onions. No vegetables or lime. I give up. Theres no way that this establishment will succeed if they continue to alienate the locals. And servers, hint, women tip better.

Ive been eating Pho (and other vietnamese food) for the last 10 years and this place is great. Ive been going all the way to 441 and Commercial for the last two years since i moved down here to get my pho fix and now I have Basilic! Only 5 minutes from my house! Anyway to the details. I went there today with my girlfriend and had the Pho, Spring Rolls, and a Vietnamese Sandwich. First off the decor was the best of any Vietnamese/Pho place (most are just good food and nothing more). The service was great and even had the owner John, guessing thats his american-ized name, come over to check on us and was a pleasure to talk to. The food: Top notch in every way. The presentation was way more than expected. Portions good and they even give you some shrimp chips to start. The Spring Rolls were way bigger than Im use to in a good way. Tasted fresh and were not premaid like my other place Pho Hoa (not saying they are bad because I think they are good, but these were tops). The Pho was great, ate every last bit of it. The meat in the pho was trimmed of fat and perfect. ahhh sooo good. And last... the sandwich. I didnt think Id find a place in South Florida with them. Well I did and it was awesome. Awesome. But I ordered a little off menu. I asked for it with pork. Thats how im use to them in Seattle and it was the best Vietnamese sandwich Ive had. If you like/love pho you must check this one out. Sorry for the long read :)

I go here at least once a week and its simply really good food. Last time I went they even hooked up some free flan mmm. Guess Im becoming a regular. I think some of the bad reviews might just be some of the other pho shops being a little mad about these guys taking their business haha. Dont worry other pho guys Ill still stop by when im over on SR7. I thought it was a little funny seeing 2 bad reviews in 2 days all with the word "mediocre". Sounds like the same person a little jaded. Anyway this place has awesome food. Service is good but when its packed understandably its not the fastest but the guys there rock. To the Falls Church reviewer... well I mean there are like 30 pho shops up there and they all are great, but be fare, this is still good stuff and they arent going for the tripe, tendon, crunchy flank eating crowd... too scary for normal folk that dont know hardcore pho. And last but not least the Pho Hao reviewer come on... better service? That was my spot for 2 years and they have awesome pho, but if you like spicy pho you better not drink all your water because its hard to get a refill.. except for the really small girl that works there and the hispanic looking busser who rocks. Anyway just my two cents. Oh and if the basilic staff read this you need to put out a little thing of sriracha and hoisen on the tables :)

I had high hopes for this s establishment considering my love of all this Phi and Vietnamese cuisine. Alas my hopes we demolished yet again.. At first the staff was accommodating and friendly having set up a table for 4 of us outside. It went down hill from there. We waited what seemed like 15 minutes before being greeted. They bring out complimentary shrimp rice cookies which were delish. We ordered our food and drinks. The food didnt come for what seemed like 45 minutes I even noticed tables that were sat after us being served before which I felt was odd but whatever. My food and two of my three friends plates came together. We waited for my fourth friends meal but it never came. We decided to eat so the food would not get cold. When we were all finishingup the server came out finally and apologized saying the meal that my friend ordered was 86d and she was just informed about it. It was what I would refer to as a dining disappointment. Eventually he got his meal and we were given 20% of all items on the bill. His should have been free same with our drinks. I still love Vietnamese food but sorry to say I will never return to this establishment.

Im from Boston, a big city where you can get any cuisine at any time. When I moved down here I was a bit disappointed when I couldnt really find good Vietnamese food. And I was starting to get homesick. But the pho here was great, reminded me of my moms home cooked pho. My cousin had the bun bo hue and said it was like home cooked also. Whereas her fiancé had the beef stew which he also enjoyed thoroughly. All the portions were great, you could finish it and be satisfied and not have leftovers. Because leftovers for stew/soup food are horrible. Honestly besides the fact that this is a pricey restaurant for Vietnamese food which is usually very affordable with huge portions this was a great restaurant. A large bowl of pho usually costs $7-9 whereas here the only size they have costs $11. A banh mi, which usually costs $3-4, costs almost $8 here. But its by far the best Vietnamese restaurant Ive been to in Florida thus far.
