My fiancé and I debated where to go and we ended up choosing this place. I ordered the chicken parm and he ordered the combination platter. So first off, we were seated and we asked to be moved to a both, the lady kind of got aggravated with us, Ive been a hostess so I know how that goes. But there is something called a poker face. We let that go. Then the waitress we were given asked us to move to another table for some reason, and we did, and when she found out we were actually her table and they werent rotating she wanted us to move back, but basically yelled across the restaurant that she wasnt going to ask us to. The time finally came to order and once we did our bread and salads were brought, the bread was dry and had obviously been sitting out somewhere, the salads werent awful, but couldve been better. My fiancé said his food was pretty good, but hes had better. And mine....well the chicken had a weird burnt taste to it and the whole dish just didnt have any flavor at all. Highly disappointed. I was looking forward to genuine Italian, but I get better in my hometown in Georgia. The only reason I gave it two stars and not one is because of my fiancé and our waitress. Dont remember her name, but she was the youngest one there I do believe and she had short blonde hair, she was sweet. Id only recommend for last resort or if youre close to it and dont feel like driving.

This restaurant describes itself as an authentic Italian, but I must have visited a very different Italy to whatever this place is based on. Plastic table cloths, dingey lighting, decor from a bad 1970s English pub and a very suspect smell that was somewhere between poorly maintained toilets and disinfectant did not exactly remind me of Italy, but still, the food was really what we were therefore. It was terrible. Our salad was swimming in cheap vinegar that could very easily have been malt vinegar rather than balsamic, with a slab of cucumber that could have been used to repair potholes in the interstate. The mains were dreadful - chicken was basically rubber covered in tasteless tomato sauce. It also arrived within 2 minutes of ordering so it clearly never saw an oven unless it was of the microwave variety. Service was ok I guess, but a "friendly" Italian slap round the face was pretty surprising for my friend. They also outright refused to refund his meal when he couldnt eat any of it which was wonderful. Perhaps the most galling thing though was the price - $67 without a tip. Mind you, by that point we just wanted to leave. The fastest restaurant experiemce I have ever had, all done in 25 minutes, just so we could get away. Avoid at all costs

Absolutely love this place! We try to eat at Portofino each year while on our vacation. Our most recent visit did not disappoint! Its hard to decide which was better - the food or the service! Our server, Colleen, made the visit pleasant and humorous with her quick wit! Food is so good... I had the Chefs Special Shrimp Scampi (YUMMM), my husband had the fried fish (another YUMMM). Our friends had spaghetti with clam sauce and spaghetti with meatballs (yes - YUMMM)! A must have is the antipasto platter; fresh & tasty. We also ordered a pizza to-go; heated that pie up and totally enjoyed it the next afternoon. Definitely a "go-to" place for us. No worries - well be back!

We went to Porto-Fino on 9/13/09 for sentimental reasons without high expectations because of recent reviews. I used to take my boys there every year on our annual trip to Daytona Beach (25 to 30 years ago). This is not the Ritz and should not be measured against that type of expectation. It is a comfortable place, with good service, serving unpretentuous casual Italian food. We had a large Greek salad which was very fresh with plenty of feta cheese. I would have liked a few more olives, but lets not nitpick. We had a large specialty pizza with plentiful toppings, and a nice crispy crust. Prices were reasonable. We would certainly go back again.

Well, we thought we were going to one of Daytonas finest Italian restaurants but quickly found out we werent. After finally getting to the entree we knew we were in trouble. The food was horrendous! We couldnt eat it and just asked for the check. The waitress got the owner who came to look at the food on our table. The owner asked us what was wrong and we explained that it just simply didnt taste good. To the owners credit he didnt charge us which is why I am giving two stars instead of one. This is one of those restaurants you would expect to see on Restaurant Makeover or something. Do yourself a favor and go to Olive Garden!

Im sorry. I feel like we completely wasted our money eating here. Well I hardly ate anything at all. The salad was decent, fresh with a homemade dressing. The bread is actually pretty good with a little sour tang. But the spaghetti... Spaghetti was totally lacking. It tastes like nothing, like tomatoes and oregano, thats it. No depth of flavor whatsoever. Once I satisfied my hunger, I stopped eating altogether. He had the veil francais or whatever. It tasted better but he felt sick later, maybe it was the food, we dont know. Anyways, felt like I wasted money and an opportunity to eat somewhere better on our vacation.

7 of us came from 30 miles away some out of state but let me start with the stale bread cut hours before i got there..And the minestrone soup was like sludge made days ago!! My main course came luke warm and the Veil Marsala was a rubber texture and chewy..Looking at everyone else the salad was the only fresh item on the table. This place needs a fresh update and a new cook although our waitress was a older sweet woman who could not remember who ordered what!! I never write reviews but if i had read this i would have gone else wear.

We had a larger party and walked in and they looked at us like "are they seriously coming here". Then when we told them we could separate to make it easier( we only had 10). A waitress right there said "dont set them in my section" we were shocked not to mention their terrible attitude as it is. They really werent looking out for the owners and the money they would have gotten from us. Too bad for them we skipped over to the next pizza place Milanos and was greeted with a SMILE, great service, and great food.

The dinner portion size was meager. More of a snack than a dinner. Even a dieter would want a larger portion. I paid the bill with a credit card. I noticed that they printed my credit cards entire account number and expiration date on the copy of the receipt they retained. This creates a huge fraud threat to the card. Nearly all establishments now obscure the first digits of the card for our protection. If you insist on eating at this restaurant, pay the bill in cash to protect yourself.

Pizza was good. We got the house special. This isnt NY style thin pizza. This is more of a pan crusted gourmet pizza. Spaghetti sauce tasted like...ummm.....Chef Boyardee with some Italian sprinkles in it. Frozen meatballs. Cheese garlic bread is ok..the free bread is, well...gross. Waiter was not very attentive. Didnt notice that our drink were empty any of the 3 times they were empty. Decor is soooooooooo out of date. It has adirty feel to it. I wont go again.
