The only reason for the two stars is the food, aside from my main dish that was a little bland everything else was amazing. The service however was the worst I have ever experienced. I made reservations for my boyfriends birthday (side note: my boyfriend is from India), I wanted to go somewhere we had never been. We were seated in an intimate booth, which was nice. An older couple (white) was seated about a minute or so after us right behind me. The waitress proceeded to immediately wait on them, all while ignoring us. We waited 10 minutes before she even came over to take our drink orders (all while checking on her other 2 top tables multiple times), without any introduction and very rudely (do you want anything other than water was the first thing she said to us). We then waited another 15 minutes before she came back to take our orders, we then had to ask for our bread because she apparently wasnt going to bring us any. Our appetizers arrived and were delicious (not delivered by the waitress). Another table was then seated next to us, it was a table of 3, none of which were white mind you. As we watched, they were experiencing the same poor service we were all while the waitress was constantly checking on her other tables and extremely friendly with them. (Their food arrived before the waitress even brought them their salads and bread). An hour after we arrived our food was finally served. By the time we had finished we had seen our waitress maybe 3 times while the tables around us had been visited at least 6 or 7. The manager never came over, my boyfriend had to call him over and complain about the blatantly racist server, he seemed more concerned with getting us out of the place as quietly as possible than correcting the problem. He discounted our bill and gave us a free dessert, because apparently that fixes it. I wish I could say that I will return because of the food but I have never been so upset with service in my life, I doubt we will EVER return.

I would actually give this establishment one-half of a star. A friend made reservations for the two of us on a Saturday evening. The older female hostess started to seat my friend (whom arrived minutes before I) at the back of the house but my friend insist she wait on me to be seated. Once I arrived we approached the hostess stand. The older female then directed us to a totally secluded booth where we were completely segregated from the restaurant. The first thing that came to mind was, "We are not TOGETHER this is way too intimate!" My friend, whos Persian then explains to me what happen before I, an African American female arrived. I then suggest to her lets just wait on a better table at the back of the house. We then go back to the hostess stand and the older female is totally incompetent. We express to her that we werent happy with the seating and would like to wait on a better table. She proceeded to tell us that the booth was the only thing available and she wasnt sure of a wait time. (Giving us a take it or leave it attitude) Of all the restaurants Ive been to, I have always been given an estimate or round about time. There was a family of 5 waiting to be seated also. My friend and the hostess then begin to go back and forth and my friend accuses the hostess of being racist and she neither denied or agreed but in a lump sum told us we had to sit at the secluded booth if we wanted to eat there and she had no clue of a wait time for any other seating. Ive never had such an experience in fine dining or the local mom and pops. I didnt appreciate the service one bit and hope no one else experiences such behavior in this day and age.

This place is amazing! Cane into Columbia for the New Years Eve parties and ice she skating. A friend and I wanted soom good Italian food. So no Olive Garden. Found this place on Google maps and Zomato. Both places had good reviews so we checked it out. If youre looking for a quaint little romantic restaurant to take a date to, this place is perfect. Food was amazing! Service was great! My friend is a really picky eater. She had a hard time picking something for her meal and the waitress was helping her decide. My friend had mentioned she didnt like tomatoes in listing ingredients she didnt like. They finally found a dish for her and when her salad came out there were no tomatoes. The waitress just paid attention to the customer and knew what my friend wanted with and without her salad. Both of us left stuffed and extremely satisfied!

What a lovely little, romantic Italian restaurant! The staff are so friendly and attentive, the owners are so friendly and accomodating, the place is absolutely beautiful (more charming than several restaurants Ive dined at on Mulberry Street in NYC). The music is soft classic Italian. You will have a LOVELY Italian restaurant experience, . . . even though the food is not particularly good. Frankly, the quality of the food at an Italian restaurant is only one piece of the equasion. They have all the pieces in place, except that one. The food is not BAD, its just not very good. So buy a bottle of wine, and you will have such a good time there you probably wont notice the food is second rate (at best). If they could bump up the quality of the food, this place would be 5 stars!!

Awful! Villa Tronco used to be such a great restaurant. What happened?! I went a few weeks ago and the food was tastless. I thought it was because I was with a very large group and decided to try again later. I went back this week, just two of us during a slow time and the food was worse. My chicken Marsala was too sweet, my friends Saltimbocca was awful. The sauce tasted like a jar of Ragu with some wine mixed in and she couldnt tell if she was eating veal or chicken. Gray means veal I assume. The rolls were bland, as was the antipasto which is quite and acomplishment. The only thing saving the meal was the Amaretto Bread Pudding. Not specatular but good. I cant imagine ever going there again whcih is sad as it has been a special place to me for so many years.

I visited this restaurant in Columbia, SC Saturday March 5th, 2016 with a party of 5. We waited for our food about 40 minutes when the restaurant wasnt that busy. We heard hammering that kept coming & going very loud from the kitchen. One dinner came out way overcooked, almost burnt. The waitress was not very sympathetic. After we paid for our dinners, THEN, I asked to see the manager. I told him I wouldnt be back. He could have cared LESS. I suppose, that because the restaurant had been established for past years, he didnt care what we thought. I WILL NOT BE BACK!!!

The staff was friendly and pretty knowledgeable about the entrees. The first time I went in by myself and so I sat at the bar. The barkeep and I started talking about Columbia and beer. Turns out they had one of my favorite beers, the Ballast Point Sculpin IPA. Excellent. The blackened fish was good, not too dry with some roasted veggies and fettuccine. Was a nice dinner on a cold day. A vegan friend joined me the next week and his meal was accommodated too.
