Stopped in for a late, solo lunch while sightseeing one day and was very disappointed. Found it online and was really excited to visit due to its history, proximity the Capitol, unique clientele set, and what sounded like an excellent menu. I was immediately disappointed by the abrupt service I received, which was strange given I was one of only three tables being served on the bar side of the house and made worse when my waiter awkwardly apologized for being disrespectful while I was paying my tab. Had the food been exceptional, however, I would have written it off. But the salmon BLT was like a combination of a piece of fish from Applebees with a McDonalds breakfast sandwich round of bacon. For $14. Its apparently a popular spot for Senators, but if youre a tourist Id find another spot.

Went here for lunch after touring Supreme Court. I felt slightly under-dressed (wearing khakis and polo). Nearly everyone else was in suits. The service was exceptional as was the food. I think we were the only tourists in the place. The rest appeared to be Washington insiders talking business. Even so, we were treated with the utmost respect by the maitre d. They were out of the wine my wife ordered so they offered her more expensive choices. When we got the bill, she was only charged for what she originally ordered. And the lunch prices were very affordable for the level of service and quality.

Found the restaurant here at Maps, I felt a little underdressed when arriving. Very nice and beautiful restaurant, throwing one back to last century. Excellent service and absolutely delicious meals for a surprisingly fair price. Being a German, I especially loved the fresh bread. Remarkable.

The Monocle is located right next to the Capitol. Often times you will see congressmen dining here. Pictures of politicians line the walls. Our server and host were extremely nice and helped us pick items from the menu. The food was very good and the ingredients appeared fresh.

This place is awesome. I love their hamburgers, I get it with no cheese. You see a lot of politicians at this place and most mornings if you go early there are lots of famous DC faces and names in this place. You feel like you are in the center of power when you eat here.

The food was good, but they ran out of oysters, so we had to double up on the calamari for our appetizer. The waiter was a bit of a jerk. He made comments when my husband ordered his steak medium well. Just shut up and take the order and be helpful.

Crab cake sandwich and fries excellent. Fries with garlic and big salt pellets. Very good. Wify had shrimp with asparagus and risotto in vodka sauce. Food is very good. But, need reservations, the place is packed. Yes, we will come back.

Joel, the bartender, is amazing! Drank off the drink menu but he was fun to talk to when he wasnt busy. Put a drink on ice for us when the hubby wasnt done. Small but lovely place! Will go again when we visit D.C.!
