Iffy meals. I ordered the steak and cheese omlette, which comes with three buttermilk pancakes. I requested to hold the cheese (Im slightly lactose intolerant) and was still charged full price. The pancakes tasted like they put all their salt into those, and focused on pancakes. The omlette was under salted, but fairly filled with the ingredients. What irked me was they put a nice, large pancake on top, and the bottom two were significantly smaller. To the point I felt like I was actually getting two pancakes instead of three. I dont recommend coming here after 9:30 am, it gets crowded with a line, and the service obviously suffers. We arrived earlier, about 6 am, and noticed a significant difference. Sure, the waitress was friendly and helpful, but not really on the ball for coffee refills. If you have children or just want to eat breakfast, Chips isnt terrible. It has very sweet pancakes, albeit oversalted. If youre trying to enjoy a nice Sunday morning breakfast, between two adults? Eh. Their coffee was 2.19 with unlimited refills, steak and cheese omlette is 12.59. Fairly high priced for the quality. I would consider myself an experienced customer due to having come here multiple times. (My daughter loves their breakfasts. Like I said, good for kids with a sweet tooth. Just dont do it too often.)

Yecch. Went to Chips, the four of us after going to the Home Show in Hartford. Greeted warmly by the hostess who showed us to our seats, gave our drink order. Hostess was cheery. In a few moments we gave our order and enjoyed the company. Shortly thereafter, our waitress delivered a special kind of kale salad, greek salad, a wrap, and a special, ravioli stuffed with pumpkin or something like it (I could be mistaken). The ravioli wasnt cheap, 12 bucks and it had 12 ravioli, basically not enough to fill a cavity. The wrap with chicken was non-descript devoid of any real flavor. The super duper kale salad came without dressing. The greek salad came without dressing. After the selections were delivered we had to corral the waitress because there was no settings/cutlery. We started eating and had to flag down the waitress, dressing please! . We sat and ate, all looking at one another but not saying anything. Kreskin could have looked at all of us and read our collective minds, "This place sucks". I take that back, kind of. The salads, non-descript, wrap non-descript, ravioli, forget about it. Leaving the hostess was bright eyed and bushy tailed. She wont see us again.

My experience was horrible. Wemt out for Sunday lunch and service was slow, the server kept forgetting combo items(cream for coffe, butter for toast, ect) and everyone had something wrong with their plate, whether it was wrong or missing. We got white toast instead of rye, home fries instead of hash browns, cold eggs, no butter for the toast and we all know that by the time they bring butter the toast is cold and it doesnt melt, and every time we said something the response was oh its on its way. I know no one will pay attention to this review but its a perfect example of getting franchised and quality going down the toilet. I will never go back to Chips, CTs worst service winner!

Found Chips when I googled restaurants in Weathersfield Ct. Read the reviews and my family decided to give it a try. Our waiter Frank was one of the best waiters I have ever encountered. Friendly , funny. His recommendations were spot on. My step daughter ordered the burger and bacon pancakes and even though my fiance had eaten earlier on we couldnt pass up trying the pancakes. We ordered the Cinnabon pancakes per Franks recommendation. Well these were by far the best pancakes we have ever had. My step daughter devoured the burger and loved it. We will most definitely be coming back often.

Extremely disappointed for the restaurant that is supposedly well rated in the area. The positive: seems clean and the service staff was friendly. The bad: the food. Fried fish (2 frozen filets about equal to Gortons in the bos from Stop & Shop) with rice pilaf (bland pasty looking tasteless rice - Uncle Bens Ready Rice would be better) - at $14.99 !! (??) Incredibly over priced for what you get. My wife got a chicken fajita wrap that was OK - about what youd expected for $10.49 I guess. There are just too many other places to choose from for casual dining to ever go back.

Very good food for a great price. Ive tried almost all of their pancakes and my favorites are the bacon, chocoholics, and cinnabon! Definitely coming here for breakfast is a must! And even the food not on the breakfast menu is delicious. Ive had the turkey club and chicken parm, both were so delicious and very large portions. Unless you are a good eater, prepare for leftovers!! Ive always had pleasant wait staff here, never got the grumpy miserable waitress that clearly hates her job type. I would highly recommend this restaurant for any time of day, all of it is fantastic.

Very friendly staff. Pancakes must be their specialty because my husband enjoyed his, but my Benedict was bland. My biggest disappointed was not that I found hair in my food, but that after the manager was told, she came to the tables on both sides of us and made sure they were enjoying their meal, but did not even visit our table. I was only back in town for the holidays so I will not be going back and I will make sure my local family and friends are aware of the poor experience. A simple apology would have meant so much.

Decent service. Our first time there, I had the Cinnabon pancakes (would recommend), and my SO had the smores pancakes, which didnt make sense as pancakes. It was more like cake and just mediocre cake at that. Most of the special syrups they have are tasty. Would recommend keeping it semi-simple with the pancakes - one flavor or no flavor and add flavor with the syrup. Unless you have a big appetite, a short stack is plenty. Near impossible to get into on a weekend for brunch, though.

As a first time customers I found it to be bad service , they have a lot of employees running around and not attending to the customer. We got to the restaurant they found us a table and we seat there for more then 20 mins and no one came up to us to ask us for drink or ask us if we are all set to order. The were 2 customers that came in and seat them down and got there drinks quick fast as us we were still sitting there and waiting, so we walked out the store and that is my review

Busy during the morning hours but not a long wait. Decor and atmosphere are a bit dated, but once the food is in front of you, all that is gone. Pancakes were light and fluffy and served pretty quickly for the wait we should have had. Hasbrowns eggs and toast were all served in great porportions. Wait staff was super friendly and kind. Service was fast and efficent and it was an overall great meal. Would definitly try to make the drive to come back in the future! :)

If youre a parent with small kids then this place is 5 stars. Good food, other kids, helpful staff, etc. That being said, if youre not a parent then this place can get on your nerves. Things are sticky, the place can be bit too loud from the kids, etc. Either way, the food is respectable. The omelets are fairly big, pancakes are fresh, plenty of syrup options, etc. It can be a bit pricey and the coffee isnt great, but otherwise a decent place.
