Ive gone here a few times since theyve opened hoping that it would get better each time. Spoiler alert: it doesnt. The first time was within a month of its grand opening. I went with a friend and got the Mac and Cheese which was either $13-14. Not the worst price for good mac and cheese but this was not good mac and cheese. The sauce was thin - nay, nonadherent - and flavorless and the portion was for that of a child. The truffle fries I shared with my friend had no hint of truffle but were coated in cheap "parmesan". The chicken and waffles she got were so bad we took the leftovers and left them in the basket on the back of my bicycle while we went out for drinks hoping it would be taken by someone in need. It was unfortunately still there upon arrival. Fast forward a few months and I drop in for a special they had advertised for a burger and a beer. For either $5 or $7, the hook was in deep. Unfortunately they had 2 beer options (neither good) and the burger was more of a slider, which should have been advertised. I know I shouldnt have expected much for $5, but this was less than I expected. it took forever to come out and despite asking for medium-well (how I order all burgers) it was raw in the middle. There little to no pink in a burger properly cooked medium well. The final straw was back in June. I paid way too much money for a ridiculously poorly poured Two Roads Honey Spot one Saturday night and it didnt taste right. What good is a bartender if they dont know to tilt the glass? This isnt Cheers, I dont want 2+ inches of head on my beer. I dont know if ownership/management has changed since opening but the restaurant cant seem to stick to anything. It started as comfort food and now every month it seems its trying to cater to a different crowd. I dont see this place lasting. Maybe the building is cursed, or maybe the facade just needs renovation so people can actually see into the restaurant and see whats going on before entering.

I went to Camps on April 28th. My son was here from Denver where they have an impressive amount of fantastic restaurants. I thought Camps would be a good place to show off to him what Middletown can do! Three out of six of us enjoyed our dinners, but three did not. The hamburg in my Shepards Pie was overcooked and the menu says that there are vegetables on the side. When I asked the waitress about them, she said the menu was wrong. She offered to bring some, but I understood that there would be an extra charge. My husbands fish in his fish and chips was very greasy (as if it had been left in the grease too long) and the portion was too small. My son-in-law had the pork chop; he was not happy about the portion size and said it was just okay. The waitress was very pleasant, but when I asked what the difference is between the "Plates" and the "Deep Dish". She didnt know and didnt ask someone. The wait for the food was longer than typical in most restaurants, but it enabled us to visit. The positives is that the atmosphere is quite nice and I like that there were movies playing (with no sound). This harkens back to the buildings past as a movie theatre. Another positive is that the dessert I ordered was not available so they brought me a delicious carrot cake--on the house. I will probably go back again in the next few months and hope for an improvement.

Decided to check out Camps tonight with a friend of mine. Cant say that I was impressed. We tried to place our order and were informed that one of the meals we wanted, the "hot pockets" were out of stock (it was only around 7:00!) So we placed an order for both a dinner and a dessert for each of us. Twenty minutes later, the waitress came back and informed us that one of the desserts was out of stock as well, such a long wait to hear back! When we finally got our dinner, we were not impressed. My friend ordered the PBJ Chicken Wings and they were very hard, dry and tasteless, nothing at all like listed in the menu! I ordered the Million Dollar Mac and Cheese, and I have to say that it was one of the most bland things Ive ever had. As "comfort food" Id expect it to have a very rich and delicious taste, but after the crust, all we had were a thin, cream-like, tasteless sauce with the occasional piece of bacon or cherry tomato thrown in. My friend and I were not impressed at all. At least the prices were decent, but we will not be returning for another visit.

Went here for the first time the other day and I wasnt impressed at all. It wasnt busy at all and the service was just horrible. It took way to long for the food to come out and the waitress never came back to ask if we needed more drinks or even ask how the meal was. The only time she came back was to bring the check and still didnt ask how things were which was surprising seen as my plate was still full of food. I ordered the chicken and waffles, the waffles were so burnt that they were inedible and the chicken was so small that there was no meat on the bones. (it must have been a chick) Overall very disappointed and wont be giving this place a 2nd chance. I had to stop at a Taco bell on the way home just to get something to eat... its not saying much when taco bell is the better choice.

I went to Camps for the first time last Friday as a ladies night out. I ordered fish and chips and I was very disappointed. My fish was all batter, very little fish and burnt to a dark brown crisp. I practically had french fries for dinner. The service was excellent, however and my friend ordered totchos which was fun and tasty! (More of that please!) I wanted to love this restaurant but it was very difficult. They seemed to be struggling with an identity crisis. The front dining area had a fine dining atmosphere while the upstairs had a bar/lounge and club feel. Their menu reflects more of the latter. I would give it a second try but my first time here was not impressive.

I went with my family last night. I will tell you dont waste you time. The truffle fries are supposed to be hand cut they are not. I ordered the Cornish hen it was terrible smothered in grease and no flavored what so ever. My son ordered meatloaf and it looked like hamburger overlooked the mashed potatoes were runny and unfavorable. We paid our bill and walked out

Its comfort food with a twist. Now where will you find a kobe frank dogs and beans? The chicken on the waffles was actually a Cornish hen and was delicious. Desserts then do try the bacon and chocolate cookies although you may need to wait for it as they cook to order and comes out warm. On the bar side fathers root beer float was awesome.
