Hop Haus is a Plantsville/Southington Gem. The previous bar (Quinns) was nothing to write home about, in fact if my memory serves me right the place was downright dirty. So in comes Hop Haus, with a fresh clean look, and a craft-beer focus that was right up my ally. My first visit was great, i drooled at the sheer amount of taps they had (close to 30 I believe, and not a bud light in sight!!!). Now I have returned countless times to try new brews and meet old friends. I have enjoyed a ton of food here as well, the poutine is great particularly with a flight of beers. Recently I had a going-away party here, the staff were wonderful, taking my reservation of the whole VIP section at no additional charge. We enjoyed a private party area with waitresses tending the whole night, bringing food and drink to all my friends (which must have been no small feat!). The party was a hit, and I am happy I had it at the Hop Haus.

Food is enjoyable. I have had hit and miss experiences with the food and beer but more positive than negative. My only issue is lots of times they have tap lines that do not taste like the beers I love. New England Brewing Co. beers I get on tap there taste almost nothing like the beers I pick up at the brewery (with Sea Hag in particular).

I want to say that the tacos were discusting, the burgers sucked. No seasoning on the burgers at all, the calamari was swimming in oil making the bottom ones mush . How do you run a restaurant with this quality food? Our bill was $130 and its sad, we could have had a better meal at wendys and saved 100 dollars.

Small bar with craft beers and some great menu options. There arent a ton of food choices, but everything Ive had has been fantastic. They have loads of great local beers, and the staff is very friendly and willing to offer suggestions. Its not a fancy place, but its certainly not dumpy.

Decent beer list. Everyone is friendly. Bartender seemed new or at least not very knowledgable about beer. Had the fried ribs with Cajun spice, not bad. Hit the spot after driving 3 1/2 hours in the rain, but would probably look for something different if in the area again.

The food was not authentic at all. The "Spätzle" werent any; They were pearl barley. Most of our food was either deep fried (The "Knödel") or had barely any taste. Two stars for the nice view over the riverside and the lovely atmosphere. Not recommendable though.

Another gastropub - if youve been to one, youve been to most. The draft list is impressive but overpriced, but they did at least have some attractive happy hour specials most days of the week. Its a decent place, but nothing special.
