This place is amazing compared to its dive-bar predecessors (Fat City Saloon [from waaaayy back] and more recently, McGillicudys). Taprock has taken over the previously adjacent storefronts in the same building and made a large eatery. There is plenty of room, and the staff was extremely friendly. The menu is perfectly sized -- not too small but not large enough to get lost. The manager came out to make sure that we enjoyed our food, and the owner came and gave complimentary mixed drinks which was a nice touch. I ordered the Chicken & Waffle sliders.....they were absolutely delicious and something that I have never seen in a restaurant prior to eating at Taprock. Great beer/wine/liquor/mixed drink selections. There is parking in the back, if not get creative....Unionville has plenty of parking you may have to walk 50 yards. I give this place my highest recommendation, and will be patronizing this place of business for years to come. Bravo for bringing a breath of fresh air to our community!

First and foremost, parking is a nightmare. Theres a small lot next to the restaurant that holds maybe 20 cars. The rest is park wherever. I ended up in Parsons across the street. The restaurant is beautiful. They did a very good job renovating the old bar that was here. There are USB chargers at most of the tables and along the walls and the bar itself is very well thought out. There were some initial issues with the owners getting the staff onboard and adjusted to the setup when they initially opened. I was kind of skeptic going back this time but am happy to say that theyve definitely earned my patronage. The bar staff was attentive and very prompt. They made suggestions based on the type of beer I like and offered a sample just to see if I liked it. I talked to one of the owners who admitted it was kind of a work in progress but theyre definitely on the right track now. And yes. Its still the best bar in Unionville, hands down.

Pretty damn good.. the only reason why I didnt give it 5 stars is a horribly crappy parking situation! nice atmosphere great food wonderful beer... And in the summer it will be the place to be to sit outside... But not in the middle of January in New England. We had an assortment of wings sliders chili fries and a friend had a veggie patty that was pretty damn good from what she said.

This restaurant is a huge improvement over the dive that used to be here. Despite the wait, we had drinks and nachos at the bar before being seated. The waitstaff was attentive and kind, and the owner was very friendly, chatting with us while we waited for the food. There are superb vegetarian options as well as great meals for carnivores. Id definitely go back.

Went here for the first time last night. The place was really busy and they seemed to have it under control! I loved the idea of them having various sliders so you can get multiple tastes instead of commiting to one whole sandwich or burger. Very knowledgeable staff especially with the beer as I am someone exoploring more craft beer! Definitely will be back.

Met a friend for a very quick bite to eat and a drink. We got right in, the waitress was great and understood our time constraint. We split the chicken nachos and sweet potato hummus as those were "quick" items. They both were delicious. The hibiscus beer was a huge hit as well. They made a great first impression. Will be back soon.

Taprock has renovated and reinvigorated a wonderful corner bar in Unionville. From the upscale menu to the excellent beer selection, this is a refuge from the everyday hustle and bustle. I understand they have cocktails that will blow your mind too, if that thats the sort of thing that blows your mind.

I love the variety of both beers and food. I have been several times and enjoyed each trip. The only reason I am not voting 5 stars is that all but one time a beer that someone in my group ordered was not available. The server comes back and says "that beer just kicked." This seems to happen a lot.

Loved eating here. Seriously, try the chicken and waffles slider. Best Ive ever had by far. The atmosphere is great. The staff is incredible. I love that this place is out here where there arent that many great options. Awesome addition to the area. Cant wait to come back!

Pretty small menu and when we ordered they were out of several items making the choices more limited. My chicken in chicken and waffle slider was so tough at I could not cut it. Small parking lot. Good beer selection. I would go back for drinks but not really the food.

Ive only been twice. But both times i was ignored at the bar. (When it was not busy) it is open late which is a plus and usually have a pretty decent beer selection. No late night menu which sucks. I dont see myself going back in the future.

Great beer selection, burger and fries were good. Some of the younger bartenders could use some customer service skills but good to see Caleb there. Bartenders should ask if you would like to see a menu rather than having to ask for one.

Food here is pretty standard bar food but not bad and the service is good. Definitely more of a bar than a restaurant but has a fun atmosphere. I have been here for lunch and can see that it would be a good place to go for a happy hour.

An outstanding local tavern with excellent service, great drinks and good food, at reasonable prices. If you live in the Farmington area, a must see, if youre into the urban industrial look and feel. Parking, in the back, is small.

So glad to see this place got over its opening week jitters. Great job remodeling the place, lot of tvs, great atmosphere. Very friendly and attentive stuff. Menu is interesting and tasty and a lit of very good specialty drinks.

We waited over 25 minutes just to seated near a very drafty door. When we brought it to the hostess attention she didnt do much to comfort us, she said she would tell a manager but he never acknowledged us.

Love the ever changing tap menu! The food is great upscale pub food and they make all the condiments in house! Try the ranch dressing!
