I frequently go to the Blackbird Tavern with friends and family. We go there because the food is consistently delicious (Ill talk about the scrumptious desserts later) and we all feel very welcomed. This is a homey environment where people can truely relax and not be rushed by a gum snapping teenage waitress. We are always personally greeted by one of the owners- and by name- which immediately begins the Blackbird dining experience. The menu is by their own design with delicious appetizers (try the spring rolls and nachos), fresh salads (the warm goat cheese salad is yummy and my favorite), and entrees ranging from the loco hot dog to pulled pork (let me just say OMG!) to flat iron steak. I can recommend all of these as Ive eaten them all. The onion rings make you want to lick your fingers, and the fresh slaw must be from some family recipe- very tasty. All of the desserts are made from scratch by the one of the owners wife. The Guiness cake just borders on decadence with a taste so good it makes me almost feel guilty for the indulgence- but I get over it and order it again on my next visit. This tavern is a must visit. The atmospher is relaxed for both adults and children, the decor warm, the food too yummy, plenty of parking and everything is spotless. A good value for your hard earned money.

My family loves the food, atmosphere and friendly service at the Blackbird Tavern. The Tavern is one of our favorite places to dine...my husband loves the loco dog which is a deep-fried hot dog topped with wicked relish served with hand-cut french fries (to die for) and delicious homemade coleslaw. My favorites are the nachos topped with house chili, the blue cheese bacon salad and of course the best pulled pork sandwich around! There is a kids menu but my kids love the flat iron steak, the wings and the ale battered onion rings served with a chipotle dipping sauce...a perfect pairing. There is something for everyone at the blackbird tavern including vegetarian dishes such as the black bean burger and spring rolls...and lets not forget about the homemade desserts...which vary from delicious apple spice cake to a decadent rich chocolate guinness cake. They also make an excellent habenero margarita and when weather permits, you can eat outside on the patio and listen to the babbling brook that runs by! The prices are right and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable...making every customer feel at home in this family friendly restaurant.

During a recent visit to Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, four of us happened upon the Blackbird Tavern and what a find it was. Its a comfy little place located in a small office park that provides plenty of parking. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly throughout our visit. We ordered a variety of appetizers, which we split. The nachos with BBQ pork are out of this world, as were the Tex-Mex Eggrolls. For entrees, the Black Angus burger was given two-thumbs up, as was the Salmon Salad. Two of us went for the Deep Fried Loco Dog and man were we happy with the choice. I had never heard of "spicy bacon sauce" before that day, but Ive been craving it ever since. The beer selection is not large but with Guinness, Magic Hat and Smithwicks on tap, our thirsts were quenched. Of course, they also have the mass-produced generic beer as well. Well be back there soon and cant wait for the weather to warm so we can spend some time out on the deck.

I had Daves Steak & Cheese sandwich with fries & a side salad (small extra charge instead of coleslaw). The food was delicious & the portion was huge! I took half of it home for tomorrows lunch. My husband had the BBQ ribs - they were tender & delicious. The only small complaint was that whatever apparatus was used to cut the ribs caused small bone fragments to be in the ribs, so you had to be careful (same issue for my dad & stepmother too, who each got an order of the spicy mango ribs). Ambiance was nice, not too noisy or crowded, & everything was already festively decorated for Xmas. We ordered 2 of the ice cream bombs (?) for dessert to split between the 4 of us. I thought they were good, but my dad/stepmom (who are regulars here) complained that they werent as good as usual. They said the ice cream tasted different, not as creamy & flavorful as the Bucks brand they usually serve.

I have been to The Blackbird Tavern twice to eat and had no complaints. But now I will never go again. I recently went there with my boyfriend to eat around 4:00PM on a Thursday afternoon. We walked in the door and there was no-one to be found. We stood there about a minute and then a little Scottish Terrier dog came up to us and started barking at us. The dog started barking very loud and still no-one came to the entrance. He looked as if he were ready to attack us. We heard people talking in the background, yet they never came to the door. And with the dog barking so loud, I cannot believe they did not move a muscle. I have never in my life been so disappointed by a restaurant visit. We drove about 1/2 hour to get there only to turn right back around. It is unacceptable that they even had a dog inside the restaurant, and I will surely never go there again.

When Im home from college I make it a necessity to get dinner every tuesday at the Blackbird Tavern. Its a great place to meet with friends or for a first date. The atmosphere is impressive from when you enter the building to when you leave. The waitresses make you feel welcome, the bartenders make the best drinks in the area, and I have yet to find a chef that has been able to make a grilled chicken rap so quick and still taste as delicious as the Blackbird staff. The music played is great, the food is great, the staff is great, and the experience is great.

The Blackbird Tavern is one of those restaurants you just love going to. Walking in, you feel relaxed, and the staff there only enhances that. They are friendly and accomadating and the space is warm and down to earth. And the food! The menu offers something for both vegetarians and omnivores and everything is super tasty and affordable. The dessert is out of this world. Its a great place to grab a drink at the bar or on the patio that overhangs the stream at the foot of Powder Hill. Definitly an awesome place to check out.

Our family has made numerous trips out to the Blackbird Tavern since its opening. The family atmosphere allows us to relax when we go there. Sometimes on a busy night you may even see the owners children helping out. My wife loves the pulled pork and I favor the flank steak. Our daughter looks forward to meting us there for dinner after work. Besides the warm greetings we get from the owner the thing we really like about Blackbird is that we dont need our MC or Visa to go there. Cant go wrong here.

Great Service, Angus Burger & Ambiance. The Barkeep met me with a warm hello, fast beer and menu. She did the next most important part from old school and followed up on my meal and anticipated my second beer before it was empty and dried out. The millennials dont have a clue about those most basic principals. The ambiance is very cool and the music wall art is nice. Good menu selection and craft draft beers. Very popular with locals.
