I live in NJ, so I was in Hartford to attend Blueman Group at the Bushnell Theater. I was looking for a nearby sushi place to eat before the show. Saw the good reviews on here, so I decided to check it out. Place had a sleek modern look. Very clean and relaxed atmosphere. I sat at the lounge/bar on the comfy benches. I started with the Vegetarian spring rolls, which is not on the menu, so I had to ask if they still had them. Delicious! And bigger than other spring rolls Ive had from other places. I also had the Veggie lo-mein, which was great as well. The sushi I ordered was cucumber, vegetable and sweet potato. Really liked how the sweet potato had that crunchiness. For dessert, I ordered the chocolate molten cake. Really enjoyed that too! My waitress, I believe her name was Margaret (from what I overheard from the manager...?) was awesome! She frequently asked how was everything and checked to see if I needed anything else. If Im ever in downtown Hartford again, Ill definitely be going back here!

I work in downtown Hartford and go to Feng up to 6 times a month for lunch. Needless to say, I am very familiar with the food and the service. Thank GOD the food is amazing because the service is terrible. I honestly cannot remember a time where our order was completely correct, or the bill was correct. A one hour lunch always turns out to be close to an hour and a half because something always goes wrong. A co-worker of mine had a server be very rude to her over $1, yes, $1. I usually feel like Im bothering them to do their job when I have to point out I got the wrong roll or they overcharged me. When the bill is incorrect, its always in their favor and we always have to prove we are right. The server generally huffs at it because they are forced to go fix it. Again, the food is incredible and thankfully for them, it keeps us coming back.

Late afternoon on New Years Eve and we were looking for a quick bite to eat. The restaurant we wanted to go to was closed so we ended up here. The reviews were good, we decided to try it. We ordered the duck spring rolls, Szechuan dim sum, Sushi Sashimi Omakase and Pad Thai. I have no words for the Omakase - except if you love sashimi, then you ought to try it. Every dish was excellent and very well prepared. Dino our server was attentive and knew exactly which dishes to suggest for a well rounded early dinner. I do not know what it was - either we were so hungry or the food was so good, we forgot to take pictures of everything we ordered. We only remembered to take one during dessert!

We had an enjoyable meal here a couple weeks ago. The seven of us ordered about 20 rolls / appetizers - from the angry dragon to the beef dumplings. At the end we also tacked on a couple lava cakes and a 20 layer crepe. I thought the sushi tasted great, although its a little overpriced - then again, most sushi joints are overpriced anyway. Lava cake is a must. Taking it down one star as service was only so-so. The waiter had at one point took everyones orders except one person and walked away. At another time, they took away some of our glasses before the wine in them were properly disposed of into our stomachs.

We were lucky enough to find out that Feng are starting a catering business and we had them come to our home for my wifes 50th birthday party. The staff were on time, well presented, courteous to all our guests and the food was quite simply amazing. The chefs were so polite, engaging when needed and otherwise humble. So many chefs these days think they are celebrities and have to entertain, these guys were the best. They cooked and prepared for 5 hours, fed our 30 guests to the brim and left having cleaned up beautifully. Great experience. We will definitely use them again and I know our friends will too.

Very good drink menu, a wide variety of sushi, and some interesting entrees & desserts. My wife and I shared the Angry Dragon roll (delicious), a California roll (ok), and some scallop parmesan fried rice (very good). For dessert my wife had fried ice cream which was too heavy on the tempura; I had a 12-layer crepe torte, which was just OK except for the raspberry sauce they put on it that was delicious. To cap it off I got an espresso which came with a rock candy stick (nice touch). Overall, I loved the decor and the food options plus service was very good. I would definitely return to try more stuff.

Been coming here for years, ever since I started working in Hartford. Sushi quality here is great. Their regular maki rolls are nice and, for lack of a better term, "beefy," (and by this i mean they really fill them, they dont skimp out their roll content). The side salads, Miso Soup, and the Tom Yum Soup are all delicious. Their special rolls (while theyre a tad on the expensive side), are really tasty. The Feng Chef roll is always my go to. Best Asian Food Happy Hour Ive ever been to. Thats where the deal is. Overall fantastic place to eat.

Have been to sushi restaurants all over New England and some in the UK. Nothing has ever compared to Feng. Its in a realm of its own. Im always sure to get the chefs pick, since its sure to be incredibly fresh, and the Miso soup with its array of mushrooms and broth from a cast iron kettle soothes the soul. Its shockingly good. Jalapeno roll is like no other sushi Ive had and its my favorite there. And their cocktails and sake selection is unparalleled. Im shocked this place has anything less than five stars. Id give it ten if I could.

Feng is amazing. Im a big sushi fan and this place is one of the best around. Its a must try for fans. The restaurant has creative rolls, great specials, and the traditional atmosphere youd expect. Occasionally youll find Groupons or deals on Yelp that are $20 for $10 so keep an eye out. The one complaint Id have is that lunch can take quite a while. If youre hoping to get in and out in under 60 minutes then youre too optimistic. Most lunches seem to range from 60 to 90 minutes. Be sure to plan ahead or plan on going for dinner.

The head chef of this establishment rented a room from myself in my home last year. He seemed like an honorable sort to begin with. After I had to evict him for not paying rent for 4 months in a row and giving a sob story every chance he had the truth came out. He is a heroin addict and shoots all of his money into his veins. Secondly he is also Hep-C positive and I dont understand how he is allowed to serve food to people? for this reason I would never go back to this establishment it is simply asking to get sick if you go.

Went there over the course of several months because they were the closest sushi place to us. Servers have been rude to us; the sushi is mediocre; theyve gotten the order wrong several times; the food is over priced; and two different times they double-charged our credit cards. Dessert is good though and the fish is quality. Better Japanese in the area: Ichiban on Farmington Ave. Better sushi (plus all you can eat): Rocky Hill Sushi on Cromwell Ave.
