One star off for service... seriously black bamboo, if you read this please tell your employees to be somewhat courteous. Not the driver/s, theyre great. And your food is great, no complaints there. But the employee who took my order today over the phone had a huge beef with me for some reason, even before she picked up the phone :/ Edit: I reread my review and just want to know Im being taken seriously, as I am a woman and I know folks think we have a tendency to be dramatic. She was on speaker phone and my boyfriend agrees, she was quite rude. Not trying to be petty, Ive worked customer service myself and its not hard to be at least a bit courteous. Second edit: I want to be fair, the food is superb. Especially for vegan options - their vegan chicken is amazing. Still love this place, just... I dunno, try to treat customers like they didnt just punch you or something.

I am warning anybody who wants to go to this place or get delivery from it because it seems good due to the fact that they have 50 reviews. That was literally the worst Chinese food i have had, Ive never written a review on Google before but it was so bad i felt i had to do this. The chicken i got with general tsao was ALL brown meat by the way im not sure who would actually like that. I think they are cheap for doing that also. The chicken fried rice was pale and bland. ---i just read the reviews and it seems that they get many positive reviews because of their vegan options, well if i get meat this bad i wouldnt trust their vegetables either.

Worst most overpriced food we have ever had. We always go to greentea which is by far the best around but is in the middle of moving locations. So tried this place since nearby. All we got was pork fried dumplings, crab rangoons and egg rolls and literally is the worst food we have ever had. Threw out 90% of the food.... that was overpriced as is (40$ for a couple appetizers). Undercooked. Chewy, barely any meat and no flavor. Just plain awful. Would never go back again and recommend the same to anyone else. Go to GreenTea if want great Chinese!

Black Bamboo is my go to Chinese take out restaurant. The food is great, the prices are very reasonable (especially compared to other local Chinese restaurants), and the food is made fast. The owner, Sonny, remembers his customers and always has a smiling face. I recommend Black Bamboo to all my friends and have only heard positive reviews. In regards to the person commenting on delivery charges - Im pretty sure all restaurants that deliver charge a small fee. I think its nice they offer delivery, few restaurants in the area do.

The menu is diverse and has great options. The general tsos chicken sauce was gummy and not spicy at all. Ive had better. The orange chicken was not able to be ordered in the dinner special. Overall the food was 4 star, BUT i was very annoyed with the delivery policy. Even though I was located less than 4 miles away, apparently because my address was not technically in West Hartford, they couldnt deliver. Keep in mind I am MAYBE 0.5 miles from the West Hartford/Bloomfield line. So that was dumb and I probably wont ever order again.

The best gluten free egg rolls youll find anywhere, no doubt. I dont understand some of the reviews on here. Ive been here ~5 times and I love it, its a kind of clean American-Chinese fusion with fresh ingredients and I hope it catches on. Nothing is greasy, only the best cuts of meat are used, the shrimp are all deveined and detailed. Everything I need is always in the bag, its done on time, and the people are mostly friendly. I highly recommend the GF Singaporean Mei Fun if you like things spicy.

It took some guts to open up a small restaurant right next to a well-established sit down Chinese restaurant in town. This place will usually be packed when you come to pick up your takeout food, but the food is excellent. Everything always tastes like it was freshly prepared, which is not something I can say for most small takeout restaurants. We think this is the best Chinese food in the area by far. On a busy night you may have to park around back.

Best Chinese food in CT. The Chow Mei Fun is amazing, the crab rangoons are the best around, and the fried rice is perfect. That said, the place is extremely small (think NYC takeout small) so plan to get takeout. There are probably a dozen seats available, but its really cramped. The parking lot can be a headache too, but theres more parking around the side and back of the building. Definitely worth a try.

VEGAN / VEGGIES - Not only does this place have endless veg options, they care enough to double check with you if they think you ordered meat by mistake, clearly have their menu marked, and just now (Im not really a regular customer) called me back with "they, all of your past orders were vegetarian. Did you mean to order pork?" (I ordered them for a friend.) <3 Super awesome humans.

Although we have enjoyed this Chinese take out before, we no longer do. The vegetable fried rice did not have any vegetables and was basically steamed brown rice with peas. That is not what most would consider vegetable fried rice. I dont know what happened, but it seems their quality and consistency have gone way down. Its a shame since they did have decent food a few months ago.

Im surprised to see low ratings. Ive been going to Black Bamboo since they opened and the food has always been wonderful. Its not your average take-out: the veggies are very fresh, the sauces arent too thick and sweet, and they offer many delicious vegan entrees. In my opinion, Black Bamboo is by far the best Chinese take-out in the area.

When they first open the food was fresh dine in or take out. I have stop going because they have started to serve food that has been in a warmer or even fried again and served. And the egg rolls are greaseeeeeee....now Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice....no way, never going there again :0(

The best fake meat. Highly recommend the vegan boneless barbecue ribs. Also the vegan general tsos chicken. Also the vegan orange chicken. Basically cant go wrong with the vegan options at this place. I eat at this place every time Im in the area at least once. And they deliver!? Amazing.

Oh my!.... The food was so terrible. Never going to this place again. Me and my wife thought it would of been a good idea to try this but that was not a good idea at all. Chicken was overcooked and dry. Rice tasted horrible. Overall -2/10, I would pay to not eat this food...

Never again will i order from this place. Ordered from them twice n both times they took two and a half hours to deliver my food. Then when i call they say hes on his way with the food and another half hour goes by. When i finally get my food its cold as hell. NEVER AGAIN.

Best Chinese takeout around! The staff and owner are fabulous, the ingredients are fresh and if you ever feel like changing up your order make sure to ask for suggestions from the owner, hes great at getting me to try new things and I have enjoyed every dish Ive gotten!
