Want good Mexican food? Go somewhere else. I was looking for some good Mexican food and went here based off the reviews. I wish I would have left when I had the chance. The restaurant was empty and dirty. The food was overpriced for what it was and very bland. I was looking forward to the chips and salsa, but all I could taste in the salsa was the onions. I mistakenly ordered guacamole and was surprised to find that it had lettuce in it. I think they were trying to stretch the avocados even further. Not sure if I would say that it is authentic Mexican food. I would not recommend at all.

Had the beef enchiladas. Nasty, nasty. First, I asked for ground beef with salsa roja. I got shredded beef instead, that was tough and poorly spiced. The side of rice and beans wasnt any better, the rice was flavorless and the beans were too liquid, like they were poured directly from a can into my dish. I ate a little less than a quarter of my food before throwing it out. The reason I didnt return it was because I got a to-go order, and was already back at work. I will not return to El Ranchero.

This quaint Mexican restaurant has a very wide selection of dishes at reasonable prices. I had a combination platter and enjoyed every part of it, but I would recommend their chimichangas above all. The texture of the skin and seasonings in the filling were absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in Mexican cuisine. However, the only downside is that there is a lack of free parking, but this is true of all of downtown Danbury.

This place is absolutely amazing! The food is the best Mexican Food Ive EVER had. All authentic. Better then actually being in Mexico. The people are very nice, Music is a little loud but the place is CLEAN. The food is so fresh and authentic, Place is Never packed.. Open late on the weekends. The Margaritas are sooo good. Try the REAL Mango Margarita or any other, You will LOVE IT! This place is a real Diamond in the rough!

I enjoy the food here and i will always come back. But i have a problem with the staffs inconsistency. One day its one price, one day they charge extra, and other days they dont. Sometimes i order takeout and i ask for tacos with everything, and there is just meat. Im paying too much to have all these issues. Overall they are friendly and its a nice environment, but others would of already given up.

Food was ok but not amazing... I would not call this place an authentic Mexican food. I had tacos but they were not that great, they were missing onions and some flavor.... I would give this place a 2.5 starts but there is none. However the service here is very nice though.

Great for Authentic Mexican. Parking is kinda hard to find.. Technically the big parking lot across the street is for the businesses in that plaza only but sometimes you can sneak in and they wont notice. (Do that at your own risk) Otherwise this place is awesome

On my second visit to the restaurant I felt very comfortable with my partner. The food was delicious and there was a great variety of foods and drinks. The margaritas are the best and our waitress gave us good service. We will be back soon! :) -Geo
