I really cant say enough about how good Yak and Yeti is. Friends have been recommending it for a while, so I dragged in a group of people to try it out. Every single item we have tried, from either the buffet or from the menu, was superb. It has been decades since Ive eaten Indian food that even approaches this (with the added bonus of Nepalese items). Unlike many places Ive tried, the buffet food is just as good as the individually-prepared menu items. I was especially pleased to discover that you can order meals in thali - many small dishes, coordinated to taste fantastic together and create a complete meal. Many restaurants will no longer server thali style, as each order requires coordinating many small plates, but Y&Y has it down to a science. They serve four kinds of Lassi drink - sweet, rose, mango and salti. They are about the best I have ever had, but I would recommend sharing one with a friend. If spicy food is a little difficult for you, a Lasso will take away the burn immediately. There are a wide variety of both vegetarian and meat dishes. I am an inveterate meat-a-tarian, and I find myself drawn to the vegetable korma and especially the samozas. Meals (including buffet) come with delicious, freshly-prepared Naan bread, and either white or pillau basmati rice. The paiilau rice is aromatic and complements the other items perfectly. I especially recommend the Rogan Josh lamb, Tandoori Chicken, Spinach Pakora, and Vegetable Korma. There are always several varieties of chutneys for bread or samozas, as well as traditional desserts. Save some room, after your meal (if you havent burst) for a cup of their hot Indian-style coffee with condensed milk, and a gulab jamun (sweet milk pastries steeped in sweet syrup and rose water - trust me, youll only need one). The atmosphere here is very casual - though the restaurant itself is spotlessly clean, it isnt extremely fancy, but thats actually part of what I like about this place - I saw everyone from well-to-do looking people to blue-collar families, all enjoying fantastic food. Every time Ive been in there, the service has been attentive and impeccable. The only time I experienced a slight delay was when a group of twenty or so people all came in at once. I cant recommend Yak and Yeti enough - I keep bringing friends there.

I used to go to the Denver location all the time and now that we moved to this area I was excited to hear there was a Yak and Yeti nearby. The man I spoke to on the phone to make an order for pickup was unbelievably rude. He had zero patience, put me on "hold" by setting the phone down on the counter for over 10 minutes, and was very rude to me. He picked up the phone after the long wait saying "Alright, what do you want?" In a gruff tone. He sighed and groaned when I was trying to tell him my order and kept asking "is that it?" Rushing me. I understand when you are busy in the food industry, but that is no excuse for treating a customer so rudely. When we came in after giving more than 10 minutes extra of the expected finish time to pick up our food it wasnt even ready and they were trying to figure out what wr ordered and when so we had to wait even longer. I do not mind waiting, but when someone does not have the patience for a paying customer to place an order and you are faced with utter rudeness, sitting and waiting for longer just adds to the overall negative experience. We are never coming here again. Not only was the customer service disappointing but I had a dime sized piece of black rubber in my food.

Highs and lows. I have been to the Yak and Yeti once, I had the dinner buffet. The bad: One of the pieces of Tandori chicken had blood in it, luckily I cut into it instead of biting into it. The people who prepared the buffet didn’t set the containers in properly and ended up creating a scolding hot steam zone they set the tongs on and I ended up getting a pretty red burn. At the end of the meal I had to track down a server to get my bill, and when I paid it came up to 35 dollars for 2 people. Not what I would expect to pay for buffet food. The good: Varity, lots of different items on the buffet. Some I had never tried. The food seemed fresh (I arrived as they set up the buffet). All in all it was comparable with the other Indian food restaurants I have tried in the Denver area in regards to taste. It loses points for the lack of attention to detail the staff applies. My visit was also soured by a drunk guy at the bar talking at the staff like he owned the place, he said he was a fixture in the Yak and Yeti, and if he is, I won’t be back.

As others have stated, absolutely WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. The food is pretty good if ordered fresh but anything from the buffet is luke warm and tastes a bit old. As far as service, they should be ashamed of themselves, If i could combine every single bad experience ive ever had at the worst restaurants all in one, it would add up to yak&yetti. From being ignored as we walked in, to rudly being asked to "pay and leave " 35 minutes before closing time, as the cooks come out to help themselves coughing and sneezing all over the food. Heres what amazed us the most: We found a piece of a rubber band in our chai and we watched them take it to the bar and stick their finger in it and dig it out!!!! They did not want to replace the drink and when we confronted them of their code breaking action they became offensive and asked us to leave! Much more happened during our dinner but it would take a few pages to vent and i would rather not remind myself of that horrid experience! Unbelievable.

This place is the bomb. My wife and I started a weekly date night two years ago and have eaten all over the Boulder/Denver metro area from 4 star to drive thru. This place is always a treat and we love coming back. Recently we tried the lunch buffet instead of the dinner and we were happy we did. They had all of our favorite items and was $5 less than dinner. You get free hot naan with the buffet and everything always seems fresh. As a plus, we are not a vegetarians but like meatless dishes sometimes and they have just as many vegetarian friendly dishes as they do dishes with meat. Which is great because we can come here with our vegetarian friends and family and everybody is happy. If you are looking for something new and fresh to try, let Yak and Yeti impress you. Oh and a side note, weve eaten at both locations and other than the unique location in Arvada, we prefer Westminster. You dont have to walk downstairs to get your food and its more quaint with the exact same food selections.

I am new to Indian cuisine but am a foodie and somewhat familiar with the spices used in its cooking. My first experience with Indian food made me interested in finding out more, but didnt exactly make me want to rush back to try it again. The Yak & Yeti made me hungry for more! While eating there I was thinking of all the people I would want to bring to this restaurant to enjoy it as I did. I can think of a few people who would be less than enthusiastic to try this place, but who would thank me for suggesting it once they did. The price is high, but the quality of the food and service seemed to fit the $8.95 lunch cost. The Daal soup was excellently spiced with both hearty and bright flavors. Rice Pudding was exceptionaly familiar yet new at the same time. The Mango Custard was amazing! I was first put off by the thin consistency but taste was a great way to end a great meal! Next time I will have to try their beer, but I was on lunch and I like my job.
