We were excited to try the new restaurant around the corner from our home with our neighbors. We had a reservation at 6, but I called earlier in the day to change the time to 630. When we arrived we were greeted by "the managers wife". She asked our name, then said "we held your table for 45 minutes and you never showed up". I told her I called to change our reservation and she asked who I spoke to (I had no idea). She then said "I dont know what to tell you, we never received a call, it will be at least a 30 minute wait." First of all, I called much in advance to change our reservation. Second, (and I do not work in the service business) I know there is a much better way to handle that situation, common sense really. Something like, "Im so sorry, there must have been some miscommunication, we will work on getting you the next available table". We live within walking distance and know a lot of people in the highlands. We will spread the word on the terrible service here and will not be back.

Although the food tastes great. There are some major shortfalls with their service. Last weekend I attempted to place a take out order. I called multiple times without an answer. It was earlier in the evening after they opened so it shouldnt have been overly busy. Without being able to place an order over the phone I placed an order through grub hub. The ordered arrived completely wrong, all of the entrees were vegetarian when only some of them were supposed to be, only one order of samosas instead of two on the order. When I called to voice my issues and request a refund for the items that we did not receive the hostess asked for my name and said that the manager would call me back. I have yet to receive a call. If they cannot adjust their service it will become another restaurant destined to close.

An amazing restaurant. They offer an atmosphere unprecedented to any other Indian/Nepali restaurant in the area. A place that offers great wine pairings with fantastic food. I went in after reading great reviews and had high expectations but still had some skepticism. The food was fantastic. Great flavor with a true authentic taste. The price is very friendly. The neighborhood has been missing a restaurant like this. Service was slightly slow, but was not an issue, just an observation from someone in the industry. The place was also packed with at least an hour wait on a Saturday. With that being said, the service was personal and attentive. Both the bartender and manager paid great attention. I was overall beyond impressed. Could easily rate it one of my favorite restaurants in Denver.

After living in India as a kid, I can be kiiind of picky when it comes to Indian food. Lo and behold, enter Himchuli. The Lamb Saag was great! My roommate has discovered and fallen in love with their Samosas. The garlic Naan was a bit heavy, but I think that had to do with how busy they were and not enough time. Decor was modern and comfortable. If you plan to dine in, I recommend a reservation - not a lot of seating (small restaurant!), and definitely already popular. If youre getting to-go orders, sit at the bar if you arrive early (there is no other area to loiter in, and you Will be in the way). But for take out orders on a Friday night...expect it to take at least as long as they projected. Its worth the wait.

This new-in-town Indian Nepalese restaurant in the Highlands brings great tasting traditional Indian food to North Denver. We had a Girls Night Out there and we luckily got reservations - it was hard to get a seat on a Saturday night. The service was slow, but we did not mind since we had no where to go and the drinks were well made. I had a little appetizer that was like onion rings that were very good. I also had the Sherpa Stew. Everything was VERY good - worth the wait. I hope to go back soon. Make sure to get reservations or go after 8:30 pm on busy nights. As soon as the kitchen gets the timing down - this will be a jewel of a restaurant in the area!

For anyone with dairy & gluten issues (& even if you dont have issues), this is the Indian restaurant to dine at. The lunch buffet would be off limits (it did look fabulous), but menu is clearly marked for gluten free & all dinner items can be made dairy free using coconut milk! So far have tried the lamb vindaloo & chicken tikka masala. Both had excellent quality meat & were yummy. Looking forward to trying more. Wait staff was fabulous & thank goodness for not another pizza or Mexican restaurant on the strip! Amazing experience at Himchuli!

This place is painfully awkward. Its less hole-in-the-wall and more unorganized mess. It took 25 minutes to make my takeaway order of saag paneer and I was the only one in the place. Chai was proper, rice was well-cooked, and the saag wasnt bad; I would recommend asking for less cream though. The staff doesnt seem to understand their menu very well which is odd because it is pretty standard. A little overpriced and their buffet leaves much to be desired.

Really tasty Indian and Nepalese food with great service. Give yourself a little extra time for parking in this area, but its worth the effort: crunchy papadum (chickpea-flour crackers), flavorful aloo saag (creamy spinach with potatoes), tender tandoori chicken, a wide array of fried appetizers like pakoras and samosas, and soft, flavorful garlic naan. I cant wait to try the ($10!!) lunch buffet.

I wanted to like this place, but I have tried it three times now and every time they have messed up the order, forgetting items or giving us the wrong items. I could maybe forgive if the food was good, but its average. Their tandoori is terrible, I dont believe it was cooked in a tandoor at all just pan fried in spices. Vegetable dishes are ok, but nothing special. I wont be coming back.

My wife and I just tried here for the first time. So happy to have this great Indian/Nepalese restaurant right in the neighborhood. Flavorful food, warm ambiance, attentive service and even live music made for a great evening. We love our Indian in London and NY when were there, and now finally have our go-to place in Denver. And the reasonable prices make it even better.

Really good food. Not too expensive, but at absolutely zero sacrifice of the quality. Best food I know. The owner is very nice, and makes us want to come back every time. Its either Nepali food or Himchuli - Highlands Indian & Nepali Cuisine for us. We wont go anywhere else, there is nowhere else in CO that matches the quality of this place.

Dont waste your time with this place. The flashing open sign out front makes patio dining an unpleasant experience. Our server said he was new and didnt know what kind of whiskey they had so I would have to go inside and look. The portions are small and overpriced. The majority of the protein on my lamb and shrimp kabob combo was chicken...

HANDS DOWN one of the best food I have had in Denver. The staffs are super nice and very welcoming. The food from menu and buffett both were good. For those who had bad experience the first time, I encourage you to give them one more try. Any time I want to eat Nepalese food this will be the only place I will visit.
