Our party of four stopped in Idaho Springs for lunch on a whim coming back from a whiteout at Loveland and everyone was quite impressed. We got two burritos, fajitas, and I got two types of enchiladas (Chicken w/ Mole Sauce (its a spicy chocolate sauce and gives the enchiladas a nice earthy spice), and Large Shredded Beef), both were excellent. It wasnt the cheapest mexican, but portion size was great and the seasoning is spot on. They start with what tastes like house prepared chips and salsa paired with a fresh tasting cabbage salsa (amazing). The wait staff was very courteous. Overall a great experience and it will likely become a regular stop after a day of skiing. Highly recommended.

We were visiting from NJ and ate dinner at Aztec. Our server was excellent! I am not sure if I have her name right but I believe it was Lima. My receipt says Server: Urban. My husband is Vegan and I am a Vegetarian. She took the time to explain the menu, offered ideas, and asked the chef to make slight customizations to the offerings so my husband could eat a variety of options. The food was delicious, the prices were great, and the service was superior! Other places on the same street seemed offended when we asked questions on what the Vegan options were and were much higher priced for less fresh offerings.

Why didnt we find this place earlier? We always figured that Idaho Springs is limited to pizza and burgers - but there is a delicious, real Mexican Place here! Woohoo! We tried it on a whim, on our way to the mountains, and it will now be our future stopping off point. Excellent salsa, warm chips, zesty enchilada sauce, very nice service, and a large menu. The soft chile relleno was delicious, and my sons nachos were a heaping pile of cheesy goodness. So thrilled to have found this place, and it comes highly recommended from our experience! Enjoy!

The sole reason this restaurant is getting even two stars is that the food was reasonably good. From the second we walked in the service was rude, inattentive and slow. The restaurant was fully staffed and not busy, but we found it challenging to get ahold of our server. If you choose to eat here, be prepared to deal with the rude staff and to be seated for a while due to slow service. I would not come back to this restaurant.

Greatest Mexican food in Colorado, hands down! They have some of the best burritos. I get the "crazy donkey" and its to die for. What I love so much about it is the streak and how you can taste all the flavors. Its like a party in my mouth. They just got new tropical iced tea and Im now in heaven. It goes great with my burrito. If I could give a restaurant a hug, I would seriously give Azteca one!

Wide variety of lunch specials at really great prices. Included chips, salsa, and de gallo. The food was very good and we even ordered an extra chili relleno smothered with very tasty green chili. Desserts were outstanding too. Service was fast and the restaurant/restrooms were clean and the staff very friendly and helpful.

we just happened to land up at this place after looking it up on google... the food was absolutely yummy!!! The Pollo Sinaloa and Chicken Fajitas were out of the world... we went with our 3 year old and the hostess was more than accommodating with our special requests.... a must visit if you are in the area...

Only giving them one star cause its the only way to leave a review. To say Ill never be back is an understatement Ill never eat at any of the other ones either. Waiting 20 min for tea and 40 for food was ridiculous and taco Bell down the street was fast and friendly.

Nice little Mexican restaurant in Idaho Springs. Its a nice change from the Colorado pizza place up the street. Its not a big restaurant but we didnt have to wait long. The food and drinks are good too.

This place had some delicious food. Nisa, our server, was fantastic. She helped with four order. There is a big octopus vs shrimp debate happening. The chicken mole is delicious!

The service was good, food not so much. Very bland and generic tasting. I wouldnt waste your time stoping here. There are better options a few doors down.

The margaritas were a little sweet for my tastes but potent. The salsa was good and the flavor of the ceviche was excellent. The picture made me laugh.

This is our go-to place coming back from skiing. The Pollo-A-La-Cazuela is great! We have never had bad service in at least a dozen visits.

The waitresses are extremely rude, wont even give you the time of day to say "Well be right with you", when she had two whole tables. RUDE.

Not the typical Aztecs experience or decor you would receive in a larger town but the service was good. Food was average.
