So this is the newest addition to thai food in the boulder/longmont area and its close to home so I was really excited to try it: We arrived around 5:45 on a Friday night and were immediately seated. Our waitress took our drink orders immediately..five minutes later we had our water and thai iced tea. Placed our food order; Tom Yum Soup, Pad See Eew, yellow curry, and mango sticky rice dessert. About FORTY MINUTES LATER...our soup arrived. Id give it a 3 out of 5. Ive had better but Ive also had much worse. I think it needs a little more spice and a little more mushrooms/chicken. A good 20-25 minutes after we finished our Tom yum soup, The cook (i think) came out with what appeared to be our food, tried to give it to the table directly next to us, (they said it wasnt their food) and despite my shouting "hey I think that might be our food!" he completely ignored me, or didnt hear me and took the food to another table in the back of the restaurant and literally the second he put down the food they started to eat it. Le sigh.... So I waited about 10 minutes for the waitress to come back so I could let her know that I think this random dude who works in the kitchen gave the wrong table our food. She hadnt come back so I went to the counter to discuss my grievances. She confirmed what I suspected, was very very very nice about the whole ordeal and told us they would whip up our entrees for us "in like 5 minutes?" Well I appreciated her concern and the way she handled it, I was pretty certain after waiting 45 minutes for ourSOUP appetizer that there was no possible way theyd have more food for us in 5 minutes and considering we had ordered that food at least 1 hour before...so we declined and said we would like to just pay for our soup and leave. In the end we were told not to pay for it, which was nice I guess. In summary: the food looked promising..the couple who had the honor of shoving it down their gullets seemed to enjoy it, and the staff was extremely nice but theres no way it is worth waiting 1.5 hours OR MORE for. Also, I feel the prices are pretty high considering this is Longmont and I am used to paying 20% less where I used to live in San Francisco for SUPER GOOD Thai food. To be fair the restaurant is very new and once they work out their growing pain kinks they may be worth checking out..until then I cant recommend Malee Thai.

Loved everything about it. The homey atmosphere, the freshness of everything I was served... People here complained about the wait, but first off, its not that bad (15 min at most), and second, its totally worth it. Its not a fast food joint and they cook everything from scratch. The veggies are as fresh as you can get, and even the soup that I ordered was not pre-made like in most places. I ordered Tom Kha coconut milk soup, and it was absolutely delicious. I dont think Ive ever tasted anything like that before, its very unique. Lemony, with fresh veggies and an aftertaste of a coconut...Yum. I also got Pad Medmamuang stir fry (mild), and it was one of the best stir-fries Ive ever had. So fresh, juicy and perfectly flavored. The homemade ice cream was really tasty and I left totally satisfied (they say it tastes even better if you eat it after a spicy meal. I didnt order anything exactly the Thai style, but it was still awesome). In a word, its a small but very homey and delicious place.

I went to this restaurant because it has a variety of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu and Ive been unable to eat at some Thai places because they use beef broth for everything. The restaurant is very small and the people there are friendly. I ordered a small bowl of Tom Kha soup which was good although tart and I ordered Pad Pak Ruam stir fry "American Hot" and it was very good. I think Ill go for Thai hot next time. The veggies were just cooked not overcooked so they still were crunchy and I had tofu which had been sauteed and it was good. This is the first time I have liked the way a restaurant prepared tofu, most of the time I cant eat the soggy squishy mess they give me but Malee knows how to cook tofu. :-) It did take a bit to get the food but not terribly long even though they were short staffed and had a new waitress. I loved the flavor and freshness of the stir fry I ordered and the wealth of menu options for vegetarians and vegans. I will be back.

Went here because it got so many 5 stars. I usually dont write reviews but I want others to avoid this place, especially since there are other good thai options in Longmont. All four things we ordered ranged from mediocre to inedible. The fried rice ball aps had a mushy texture and lacked flavor. I ordered the basil stir fry medium spice and it was so spicy it was inedible, after two bites, my mouth was in excruciating pain and my eyes watering. The waitress was nice and I sent it back and ordered the pad thai mild. The pad thai was like an american noodle dish with a little of thai sauce on top. The cashew stir fry was a bunch of steamed veggies with very little sauce and flavor. I live in Longmont and will be sticking with Urban Thai and Thai Kitchen, which are both excellent.

Malee Thai is a decent Thai restaurant in an old, quaint building. The people working there are very nice and it has a homey atmosphere. The food was a little hit and miss. The Pad Thai we got was not especially good--it had almost no sauce or flavor. On the other hand, the yellow curry had great flavor and was quite delicious. If you go I would recommend any of the curries over the noodle dishes. We did have to wait about an hour for takeout and there was only one other table of two people in the restaurant. To be fair we did order six meals, but waiting that long for takeout was a bit frustrating. Overall, I would recommend Malee Thai if youre in Longmont and want Thai food. They have better curries than Thai Kitchen, but worse pad thai.

Dont let this small place fool you, amazing food! But really, dont all the small places off the beaten path have the best food? Really great Panang Curry flavor (its how I judge all of my favorite Thai places). The ingredients were super fresh and the "medium spice" was just right for me but consider light spice if youre unsure. The owner came out and served my food. He then later checked in to make sure everything was tasting great. So I had great service, but its honestly all about the food. Casual business lunch, dinner and take out - I can see how Malee Thai is perfect for all occasions. Welcome to Longmont Malee Thai!

We ordered a take out order and everything was quick and on the time they said. The front person was helpful and polite. We really enjoyed our Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. We got one dish mild and the other medium. I liked the medium better and found the mild lacking flavor, but that was because of how I specified the dish. I would certainly recommend this place and will be eating here again for my next Thai food cravings. Ill just make sure to get both dishes at a medium spicy level.
