We ate here for the first time during Georgetowns Christmas market. The restaurant was crazy busy. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated and they hosted two 12-person groups while we were there. It took longer than usual for the waiter to first visit us, but service was fine after that. My wife had the salmon burger with home fries and I had the veggie omelet, which is basically a crustless quiche. The main dishes were delicious and a good portion size, although someone with a hearty appetite would have been left wanting by the omelet. The side dishes were less exciting. My wifes home fries were bland. My pumpkin spice waffle was tasty buy not warm enough to even melt the whipped butter on it. What really made our visit special was the gluhwein (hot, mulled wine). Having lived in Germany, that is an essential part of the Christmas market experience for us. I would happily eat here again, but I would try other restaurants in town first to see what the competition is like.

I have been going to the Happy Cooker since the early 90s and it was always my go to when in or near Georgetown for breakfast or lunch. Recently it has really gone downhill. I went to lunch with my hubby recently and was shocked at the staff. We sat outside on the patio to eat and were shocked when the greeter (tall dark haired young man) lost his cool when a few separate parties seated themselves outside. He actually forced an elderly man to abandon the table he was sitting at, stand at the entrance for several minutes only to finally seat him at the same table. He was very verbally abusive. Food was also bad. The chicken on my ceasar salad was not fully cooked and was obviously the bagged frozen chicken you can buy in the freezer section. The lettuce was also warm and limp. I didnt eat it or send it back because it took so long to get and didnt have time to wait on a new lunch. Sadly, probably my last trip to the Happy Cooker.

The service was pitiful. 4 of our meals were excellent, but two were terrible. Am being nice to give it 2 stars. They had no childrens menu, so we ordered my son peaches and they were gross. They were brown and tasted terrible! My father ordered Chicken A La King. It was three pieces of bread with yellow sauce and one cruton sized piece of chicken. We would have complained to the waitress but we never saw her again till she gave us the check. When we told her she said, oh, sorry and plopped down the check. I had to ask to get the peaches off the bill. She never offered. She clearly didnt care especially since there were 6 of us, she got an automatic tip. Of course the 6th person was my son that had only cheese- that they charged him double what it said it was on the menu! Will never go back despite my meal tasting great. Made a good day bad...

UPDATE: I spoke with the owner Michael about my experience at length! He was a great listener and has already made changes to how Gluten Free food is ordered and handled. I plan on giving them another shot! The communication has been fantastic and I really appreciated them taking my experience seriously! I ate here because they had Gluten free waffles. I made sure to let them know ahead of time I had celiac disease. Part way through my meal they informed me "they forgot" and gave me regular waffles. This will make me very very ill for months to come. If you have food allergies DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR HEALTH!!

Long wait times, had other freshly arrived groups passed ahead of our own until asked and then got a few apologies as we were finally seated. The speed of the food was just as poor, had to once again remind the staff that we did exist after tables seated 15 to 20 min after us got their food before we did. When they finally checked, our food had been sitting up there and we were treated to cold soup and a lukewarm quiche. Food was on par with the service and wasnt worth the wait.

My family and I had breakfast at the Happy Cooker. I could find no fault with anything during the meal. It was well prepared and served. The food was very good and there was more than enough to satisfy any person. The service was just as good. The establishment was clean and well maintained. I recommend this eatery and would eat here more often if I did not live on the east coast. My rating: EXCELLENT.

We stop for breakfest every year when we go over to the western slope. The food is excellent to say the least. I had a cinamon roll in addition to my breakfest meal this time. I had apples like you would find in a apple pie on top of the cinamon roll and it was outta site! The service is great and the staff are friendly. Love this place and highly recommend eating here.

Me and my husband went there for breakfast, when we got there no one greeted us and the waitresses just ignored us. We had to chase a waitress to ask wether they made to go orders, she rudely responded yes didnt even bother to offer us a to go menu. After 15 minutes of being ignored we left the place. If you like to be ignored this is the place for you.

This place is awesome! Its so unassuming and not much to look at, but the food is great and the service is friendly. It will be a regular stop for us on the way up or down the mountain. Pro tip: If you like spice, try the green chili. If you like sweet, try the homemade cinnamon roll with spiced apples. So good!

My Dad, husband and Ma were there just as it was getting busy. Our waitress was busy as possible and she managed to take care of everyones needs with grace. The plate presentation was spectacular and food was equally.. We were delightfully pleased. Kudos to all employees! Sincerely, us from Illinois..

Im not sure where to start. The food was terrible biscuits were dry the gravy has no flavor and omg the Bloody Mary will leave a bad taste in your mouth the rest of the day. The positive is fresh fruit on the plate which is the only edible part of the meal. Save yourself and eat somewhere else.

I was really surprised by how much I liked their food. Ive tried a few different entrées and each one was better than the last. When I want a big breakfast burrito, I know where to go! Very casual dining room with a friendly wait staff. Its a local favorite, and theres a good reason for that!

I had French Dip and Dinner salad, wife had Meatloaf sandwich. The plates had good presentation, nice portions and very reasonable prices. Our server came just the right time intervals. The food was excellent. It was also packed for lunch. The other food I observed looked good also.
