This is the worst meal Ive had in Denver. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and my boyfriend had the traditional 2 eggs, toast, and potatoes. Both of our plates were heated inconsistently, like they had come out of a microwave. Some of his potatoes were ice cold, mine were too hot to touch. The gravy was luke warm and gross, while the biscuits were hard. I think the poached eggs were the only things they didnt pull out of the freezer. Over all it was an incredibly disappointing meal, topped off with mediocre service as everyone else has mentioned. A random woman in street clothes (the owner maybe?) finally picked up the bill so we could pay, and it was returned without a pen. I had to flag someone down to pay for the awful meal. There is no way we will ever go back.

Worst restaurant experience in my more than 30 years in Colorado (maybe anywhere, to be honest). Not worth the wait and certainly not worth the headaches. On top of horrible service and management, the food was subpar at best. Plus, as a breakfast place, they dont really cater to children and have a wait staff that seems inexperienced. Nonetheless, this place is unable to handle high traffic, high pressure situations that require a sense of general organization and a working knowledge of how people want to be treated. I hate complaining and I really try to ignore everyday mishaps, but this place is a colossal failure. Go to IHOP or Dennys--guaranteed (at the very least) decent service.

Overpriced and just plain horrible. My father was in town, tried to get into Snooze on Colorado Blvd, but it was too crowded. This place was half empty, but it still took about 30 minutes for the food to come. We had to ask for place settings AFTER our food arrived. I ordered an omelet smothered with pork green chili, and it came with no green chili. When I complained, they brought be a side of diced chilis, not pork green chili. My $10 omelet was dry and overcooked. Could have had a better breakfast at Dennys, for half the price.

I stopped in for a to-go cobb salad. The process of assembling the salad took 15 minutes as only one woman was behind the counter. Forgiven, maybe to-go isnt this restaurants thing. However, its the stingiest salad Ive seen in all of LoDo! Mixed greens only fill 3/4 of the bowl, 3 slices of avocado, 1 crazy overcooked hardboiled egg, 1 ounce or less of slippery sliced chicken, a scant tablespoon of bacon, same of tomatoes, and a teaspoon of blue cheese crumble..... for $11.88. Please! How miserly! Next!

The pancakes of from the egg shell were very good, however not extraordinary. They were above average for buttermilk, but what was truly delicious and worth going back for are the Swedish pancakes with Lingonberry Sauce. The pancakes were perfect, and the sauce was one of the best Lingonberry sauces I have had. Also, the coffee is worth pointing out. It was very good coffee from Boulder, Colorado, was no additional cost, and they will give you a coffee in a to-go cup for free as well as you leave.

Friendly staff and relatively quick service. My issue is with the quality of food. Ordered a coffee and the mug had lipstick all over the edge. Ordered eggs Benedict and the eggs were raw. Looked like snot running off of the English muffin. The whites were unbelievably raw. Both were brought to the attention of the server who apologized but offered no solutions. Spent $50 on nothing. Will not be back.

Experienced The Egg Shell one morning while staying at a nearby hotel. The food was excellent, and so much so, we had breakfast there the next morning. Would highly recommend the Denver Omelette and the stack of pancakes. Also found the servers to be very friendly and helpful, greeting diners with a smile and pleasant conversation.

Visited the Egg Shell at its new location and we were very disappointed. Starting with our server on her cell phone in plain view as we waited to give our order. I needed to wear my coat since it was so cold inside. Then the food was tasteless. We used to go to the Egg Shell at the old location and enjoyed their food.

Light and airy space to enjoy breakfast. The granola crusted croissant French toast was really good as was the banana bread French toast. Appropriate sized servings, not some monster meal. Coffee was good and staff was friendly. It wasnt very busy, even at 9:30 on a Saturday morning which was nice too.

Waited 30 minutes to be seated when there were open seats. After being seated, we waited another 20 minutes watching servers bus tables and refill coffee while no one came to even set a glass of water down on our table. I dont think they even realized when we got up and walked out.

Terrible service. 4 tables of customers at 1pm on a weekday, at least 5 people working there, and it took them 15 minutes to come ask us if we were ready to order. Food was poor -- how do you serve terribly burnt toast with a straight face?

We thoroughly enjoyed our first meal at the egg shell. The outdoor patio is a lovely space and our cheery server was prompt and attentive. The real show stealer was the shooting star skillet... Loaded up with tots and cream cheese. Delish!

The atmosphere is nice and that is about all we liked. The server was slow and seemed annoyed when we asked questions. My husband had the cornmeal pancakes and found them inedible. I had the greek omelette which was ok - nothing great.

Great breakfast spot in downtown Denver! I arrived on a weekday morning just after it opened at 7 and found a clean and quiet spot with a broad menu, a friendly and attentive staff, and enough tea refills to wake me up.

Great menu, fresh take on traditional menu items and super friendly service. I ordered the half order of potato pancakes with egg (perhaps the presentation couldve been better, but...) it was delicious.

Very attentive staff. Friendly interactions. Quiet location with moderate foot traffic. The food hit my taste buds out of the park. 5 stars no doubt, perfect place for brunch. Try the mimosas.

Had breakfast here a few weeks ago. Not great. Unfortunately. Over priced, and the food wasnt up to par. I doubt that I will give it a second chance.
