My Husband and I went to Bombay Clay Oven on a dinner date on 6/13/15. I ordered a spicy dish with chicken. Almost half way through my dish I bit into a bad piece of chicken. I immediately spit it into my napkin and notified the waiter. The waiter apologized and asked why I thought the chicken was bad and how it tasted, He asked if I would like a different dish but at this point I had lost my appetite. The waiter spoke to the manager and returned to our table once again and questioned why I thought the chicken tasted bad. The manager never came over to the table despite being at the bar (within view). The bill came at full price minus my yogurt drink. I already had a buy one get one coupon but the fact that the manager did not even offer to discount the ticket based on the bad chicken was very off putting. We will not eat at Bombay Clay Oven again.

I came in here with my dad were from Albuquerque and the decorations and the styling of the restaurant is great loved that part but looks arent everything we were expecting a lot more from the food the beef sheek kebab were old you could tell and the rack of lamb was burnt from the outside and overcooked honestly the only good thing their was the raita. We also had a order of chicken tikka masala which was not good at all it looked like it had good coloring in it and it was more sweet than spicy and no taste of salt at all. The naan bread was good but not traditional at all it looked like it wasnt cooked in a tandoor at all. Trust me my dad owns a Indian restaurant and hes been a Indian food chef for almost 11 years. Over all bad experience at the end the check came and it was 103.59 which was not worth it at all.

Just recently, I had a hot, saucy date at the Bombay Clay Oven, …so to speak. One of employees accidentally spilled red sauce all down the left side of my face, hair, dress and coat. My date blotted the oozing liquid off of my arm and face then I quietly walked to the restroom to wash my clothing out so the sauce did not stain. I had to track down the manager to ask him to dry clean my coat. Accidents happen, I know that. However, I do feel that the manager should have been over at my table with an apology. They only item they would comp us for was the coffee because it took 30 minutes to arrive at our table! I will say the food was very good, however, the service and experience ranked as one of the poorest I have ever encountered in my lifetime of 50 years.

While planning a trip to the city, I chose this restaurant based on its good reviews. They told me the food was great and the service excellent. My experience was a much different one. The drinks and bread were good, but I cant comment on the rest of the food, as we were never served any! We waited an hour and a half - yes 90 minutes! - and were not served our dinner. No excuses, no apologies, no amends. We were simply ignored for an hour and a half. Finally, we left money on the table to cover our drinks and got up to leave. Only then, did we get any attention, and when I told the host why we were leaving he simply said he was sorry for the wait. Dont go to this restaurant unless you arent hungry and have all the time in the world. Youll need it.

I read some of the reviews to this restaurant, but thought that it couldnt be as bad as what some people were saying. I was totally wrong! We went for a little dinner on a Monday evening. Got there at 7:00 ... did not leave until 9:30! Not because we wanted to stay that long. We were one of 3 tables of people in the restaurant. It took over 20 minutes for somebody to approach our table to take a drink order and over an hour for our meal to be served to us. We had to flag somebody (anybody) down for refills to our drinks, got no guidance on what would be recommended for food, and not a single person came back to our table to see how the meal was after it was served. Will definitely NOT be going back, and will never recommend it to anybody!

I am an Indian and the dishes I had at Bombay Clay Over is far from being authentic. Me and my friends ordered Masala dosa, Combo biriyani (chicken and shrimp), tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala. We had first asked how many dosas would come in the order and we were told 2, and it turned out that one dosa was just cut into 2. Biriyani was not good. Overall quantity of all dishes were very less compared to their price and what is available other restaurants at least in Fort Collins (to be fair). I would say tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala was comparatively alright. But, they ended up not delivering the naan that was ordered and I was not happy with the general service either, especially that of a man who seemed like the manager.

Though Bombay appears classy at first glace, it has cheap underbelly. Soda was flat, iced tea was fake. Lentil soup had no lentils, tomato soup wasnt made in house. Naan was soggy. Other food was okay, but mass produced. WAY over priced for a cheap (as in lousy) meal. 3 servers frantically covered the entire restaurant. Each one swooped past to hurriedly take our order or occasionally dump water in glasses. No one stuck with us to offer real attentive service. Wouldnt listen long enough for me to finish my sentence. If you want quality Indian food, go to to a small local restaurant where the food is authentic and the service is personal. No quality here. All about making a buck.

I am a vegetarian and went to this place for their Saturday buffet. The food was alright compared to other Indian restaurant since the choices were very limited. They had couple of appetizer items and two curries spinach saag(no paneer) and Egg plant potato. The egg plant potato was horrible but the spinach saag was very nice. Their dessert selection was good Gulab jamun(little soggy but good taste), mango custard and rice pudding. For 8.99, I would have liked to have some chat items and some more vegetarian items in their buffet. Their ambience was good and I liked their Indian style booth seating area.

We enjoy coming to the Bombay Clay Oven as frequently as possible, and bringing new friends with us to enjoy the experience. The wait staff are very knowledgeable, the service is excellent, and the food is reliably good - no matter which entree we decide to try. Our staple is the Bread Basket and Trio of Dipping Sauces, which is another reason we bring friends - it is too much for two people to eat!! And finally, we are always asked if we are happy with our experience!
