electronics intolerant crew, but great food, great location...one of my favorites in my neighborhood for years. But why do you guys have to be such jerks about electronics? I get you dont want someone camping out for hours with a laptop using it as an office, but seriously, you keep up with being jerks on simple things like listening to music on headphones when alone or using an ipad to play a quick game of chess or scrabble while eating breakfast....you are going to lose business b/c someone else will be all to willing to open up the competition a block away. If I am allowed to listen to a friend talk to me while eating....why cant I listen to music????? And why am I allowed to do a crossword puzzle out of the newspaper, but I cant do a crossword puzzle on my tablet??? And why am I allowed to work on a sudoku puzzle with my husband, but the minute it is on electronic format...no way? You guys need to understand your food is good, but not good enough to blanch the increasingly bad taste you are leaving in my mouth. Your prices certainly do not encourage us to tolerate this kind of behavior. You need to rethink this! And, isnt it bad enough you make us sit on top of one other so closely, who wants to have a conversation and share it with everyone within 12 inches of you. Your place is really just conducive for eating while reading, listening to music or working on a puzzle. I feel uncomfortable having a conversation stacked on top of people. You better wise up...I have already stopped coming b/c A couple other places in the hood have great food, better prices and tolerant and kind staff. Check out Masterpiece Deli and Vita!

Good but NOT a coffee shop. Cute ambiance, good service, and solid food, but not a coffee shop. Signs up everywhere in all caps saying no working, no laptops or meetings during normal hours. Wouldnt be a problem except that it is advertised on Google as a coffee shop with great tea and coffee so I walked over (45m) to work on a report. After seeing the signs I decided to eat and find a different place to work. However, given that only 3 tables were taken and all 7 outside were open (in the middle of winter) I asked if I could sit outside in 40 degree weather to finish my tea while typing. Although the waitress was really apologetic the answer from the owner was no even though Id just paid for breakfast and taken no more than 20m at the table. While I understand restaurants need to turn over tables, advertise online as a restaurant rather than a coffee shop if thats the case.

I went to gallop cafe for lunch today specifically for the $1.50 mini margs as advertised on their website. Apparently they do not serve those anymore so I was forced to either have an $8 bloody mary, one of their pricy cocktails or the only drink special available which was 2 for 1 venetian mimosas. I went ahead and ordered the mimosa to come to find out it was in a tiny flute with very little champagne. Good thing there were 2 because it was a cheek-biting $7.95! I couldnt imagine paying that much for a glorified shot glass of oj and a splash of bubbly. Would have given 4 stars if they offered the mini margs. Food was decent. I would only go back during happy hour which would be the only time it would be worth it.

Sat at the bar and ordered breakfast sandwiches. Effectively came out as an omelette on a croissant which is alright but not exactly what I was expecting. Roasted potatoes were cold, we never got coffee or water refills. There was seemingly a singly barista, a cashier and a food runner/busser and they could clearly have used an extra person as there was a line out the door most of the time we were there (not sure why, really). It took a good 20 minutes after we finished eating to finally have to get in line to pay for our food. The cashier was a foot away from us the entire time and couldnt carve out enough time to give us our bill. Not impressed, will not be returning for their sub-par food or service.

The owner was remarkably rude. My colleague and I had ordered >$30 of food... And then because we had our laptops out - as soon as the food was delivered and brought the check, the owner comes up to us with a little sign about some absurd electronics policy and says to us: "you cant get work done here. You have to leave" We then tell him we ordered plenty of food and there were plenty of empty tables. But he says, "itll get busy soon so you need to leave." Remarkable. I have never seen someone treat paying, quiet customers that way. Its like he doesnt care that hes lost a customer for life.

$4 for half a cup of cocoa and 20 minutes of sour atmosphere; not money well spent. Needed to kill an hour on a rainy day so I stopped in for a cocoa and tipped generously. The moment I got out my lappy, the entire waitstaff told me computers werent allowed and they could make my drink to go if I wanted. I opted to stay and read but 20 minutes later they hustled me out the door--my drink still unfinished--because it was time to set up the poker tables for a tournament that wouldnt start for another half hour. Presumably the empty table they had already set up was lonely.

Mediocre but so much potential. Got a veggie omelet that was made with little love and even less in the way of flavor. Although the flies sure did want to fight me for it (door was wide open so ....). The space itself is great, and I enjoyed the music. NO WIFI so...I guess they dont want you sitting and lounging for the morning to get work done. When I asked for butter and jam for the toast, I was given those high fructose corn syrup jellys that you find at Dennys or Village Inn. I would have picked another place had I known about the blandness, the flies and no wifi....

We werent greeted upon enetering. Seated ourselves. Sat for about 20 mins without anyone saying anything to us. We continue to see people get waited on then finally a couple turns to us and says we have to place our orders at the register. So we go get the menus and as were looking it over another couple walks in is greeted seated and given menus. We politely got up from our table replaced the menus and walked out of the restaurant. And not once did a host or server say anything to us. I personally wouldnt recommend this place of poor customer service.

We came in for our first visit with a group of 5 and were very rudely greeted by the girl with long brown hair and glasses. With very little space to stand she kept a asking us to get out of her way while we waited for a table to open up. Once we were sat, we learned on our own that we needed to place our orders at the counter and the line was already out of the door. She had 10 minutes to tell us that we could place our orders while we were waiting but never thought to mention it. We all ended up leaving and were openly greeted at Tony ps!
