The Denver Diner has great food, but terrible service. When we went there today, we had to wait at least 5 minutes for our server to come to our table after we were seated. About 5 minutes later, she rushed us into ordering our food, and didnt ask if we want to order drinks. About 5 minutes later, she brought my mother a salad, which was drenched in dressing. If she wanted to eat dressing, she would have asked for no lettuce! When she came back to our table about 10 minutes later with our food, I told her that she messed up my order. She acted as though this was some sort of freak accident, and said that it has never happened before. As a replacement for my mothers salad, she asked for applesauce, which she never got. I finally got my new burger, and drink. It gets WORSE. When we got the check, our server took it, then apparently decided to clean some tables. She left the check and credit card ON THE TABLE she was cleaning in plain sight where anyone couldve taken it, and wasnt paying much attention to it. The Denver diner may have good food, but be sure to get your next order to go.

If youre going to Denver Diner to eat, its best to get the breakfast food. They can sling an egg as well as anyone, stick some bacon next to it, and its just fine, really. But if youre feeling adventurous enough to explore the rest of the menu (perhaps the meatloaf, marked as a house specialty on the menu), beware. Even on the Denver scale (where being kicked in the groin for an hour would get you praised in Westword), this is terrible food. The "vegetables" that come as a side are typically some kind of previously-frozen mix (the industrial kind where the carrots are tiny cubes); the meat all has that previously-frozen texture. So do most of the pies. So does some of the staff. But ... as a place, its awfully handy. When Denver isnt loving horrible food, its closing at 7PM, and this is one of the few places around open all night. The people are generally friendly, the booths are comfortable, and the air conditioning works. So, its a good place. Im glad its here. Im grateful for it. Just ... dont come for the food; nobody else does.

To the people who dont like decor: Its called "Retro" I.E. like the giant Pepsi-Cola bottle cap sign on the wall its supposed to look, and moreover feel, like its "from a time gone by" as my grandfather would say. And it does. From the appearance to the friendly welcome as you come in. From the music to the friendly staff, the Denver Diner pulls off an old school diner wonderfully. And no wonder, as they have been in business for 20 years and the building has been here since the 50s or 60s. The Denver Diner is excellent. If you dont like diners, dont eat here. Eat here and want to complain about it not being a post modern yuppie Starbucks wannabe? Get some cookie dough, a bucket of ice cream, watch a mopey movie and shut up. Go for the food. Go for the experience. Go for the nostalgia. Go because you just got out of the club and nothing else is open. Come back because, everything else aside, you enjoyed it.

We were seated, given water, then ignored for 45 mins before we got up and left. The place wasnt busy at all, and a group that came in 30 mins after we were seated had their order taken immediately. When I attempted to talk to the waitress she said someone would be with us in a minute, but no one ever came. No one even addressed us as we were leaving. Its extremely frustrating because its my birthday, and although I moved to Denver with my husband 8 months ago, I have MS so its difficult for me to get out and about. I had never been to downtown Denver and was looking for a place that would be laidback and easy to get to (close parking, no stairs, etc). The Denver Diner seemed perfect for my needs, but since we were ignored for so long we quickly had to rush to find another place because we had additional plans. Its been an extremely dissatisfactory dinner experience, and if I could rate zero stars I would.

I havent lived in Colorado for 10 years but the one thing I remember from my Five previous years living in Denver was the service I received from a waitress named Debbie. A Latina middle-aged woman who had the spirit of a 17 year old girl and the sage advice of an experienced women. She was always friendly and offered kind words. Of the myriad experiences Ive had in Denver for some reason my memory of this one waitress has had the biggest influence on my perspective in life. I dont know if she still works there or not, but the first thing Im doing after my divorce and moving back to Colorado is going to visit the Denver Diner where I had the most sympathetic and empathetic shoulder to lean on. This review may sound sappy but its the only review by me written for any business anywhere in the fifteen or so years that Ive had an account on Google so food or not I rate Denver Diner five stars.

Went to the Denver Diner for breakfast this morning after it was recommended by the hotel staff where we were staying. Three of us went and waited 40 minutes to get a table. Then waited another 35 minutes from the time we sat down to the time we got our food. The waitress was less than attentive but the place was packed so I cant fault her. I ordered the Fajita omelette with beef fajita meat and hashbrowns. The omelette was terrible. The meat had no flavor and was rubbery. My friend got a Mountain Man omelette which was mediocre but better than the fajita omelette. My brother ordered a Belgian waffle which he described as flavorless. The food would have given this review two stars but the additional wait for terrible food makes it a one star. This place is very overrated and I would not recommend it to anyone.

The owner of this restaurant is the biggest piece of trash I have ever encountered. He almost rear ended me on the highway at a high rate of speed and then proceeded to give me a gesture that he was jerking off. When I confronted him he bragged about being the owner of the diner and wouldnt get out of his car like a COWARD. When i called to complain to the diner I told them to have him give me a call and when he did he called from a blocked number, like a COWARD. When I wrote this on their facebook page it was magically deleted most likely because he is a COWARD. I recommend that you avoid this place at all costs and spread the word about the HORRIBLE ownership.Take your money else where and maybe when he goes under he will learn how to represent a company properly.

DO NOT EAT HERE, DO NOT EAT HERE. I parked here to have a late lunch with my kids and my car was towed by the owner who owns also a towing company in Mariposa and 9th. I wasnt parked 10 mins and my car was towed on a Sunday at 3pm and we were charged $245 to get it out of their lot. This scumbag didnt even care leaving me without a ride when I had two kids under 10 with me. My husband had to drive 1 hr to get the car out of the lot before 5pm Sunday closing time. For the last 3 years this diner used to be our pick to have dinner or lunch after a long day of dancing at least twice a month. NEVER NEVER AGAIN. PARK AND EAT AT THIS PLACE AT YOUR OWN RISK IF YOU HAVE $245 LAYING AROUND.
