Today was not a good experience at first, i love this restaurant i would spend my money here before i go to Dennys or ihop, but today we decided to sit at the bar and eat . the waitress was a young lady and we sitting got or drinks waiting for her to take our order , how about she takes the order of someone who just got here after me . so we looking crazy like ok when she going to get to us? Then she takes off busying herself with other things instead of tending the customer then do whatever. I always come. Here and this is my first bad experience, but its got me rethinking about future visits.

This building was formerly dollhouse restaurant and all was not well. New Owners have definitely got it right! From the clean open remodel to the downhome/diner style deliciousness, Hits The Spot Diner absolutely does just that!! The owner is the man in the back cooking 7 days a week, I try something new everytime I go in and I swear this man can do no wrong in the kitchen. I promise you Im not exaggerating, the food is amazing, its a comfortable place, my iced tea never runs dry, and you wouldnt know it reading this review but I am usually incredibly difficult to please.

I love this place,but I always eat the same thing.I am stuck on their wonderful Steak and Eggs,,it comes with real hashbrowns,(homefries) like back east. Then you have your choice of toast,pancakes,french toast.or biscuit and gravyThe steak is always cooked as you order it.and the price is....wait for it....$7.75!!!i have brought my Brother from Gunnison,my Ex husband from Texas,and they still rave on it!!lol,and just to rub it in ,I tske a picture and send to them.Big portions,great Service from Irma,and Erin,thanks hit the Spot.

Plenty of great skillets and breakfast options here. This restaurant is very inexpensive! You can expect to pay about $20 for 2 great size plates with drinks. I really like the pancakes here, fluffy inside, beautiful toasted outside. I knocked a star off because the wait staff is hit or miss, either that or they are understaffed. I have no experience in the food industry, but as a consumer I am a little unimpressed. And the place can certainly use a deep clean filthy windows blinds, and debris under table.

The food is awesome. The wait staff however needs training. They are disorganized and play favorites with the customers. Regulars to the cafe were seated before us and some that ordered after us were served before us. Needs a lot of help in this area. Even though the food great and prices reasonable, the wait was way to long to be seated, getting menus, ordering and getting our food. I will not return.

After two days of driving and a late concert, my significant other and myself were hungry. We saw this place had good reviews and decided to try it. There was a little bit of a wait on this Sunday morning as they were slammed. The wait was more than worth it. All the food came out fantastic and I felt regretful that I could not finish what was on my plate; the portions are HUGE!

Good Lord are their pancakes delicious. The green chili is a wild card. Sometimes its too hot, sometimes its not hot enough but do not let that dissuade you from enjoying their laid back vibe and very good breakfast menu. I cannot speak for lunch seeing as i have never been able to get myself to order anything but breakfast.

My biscuit was totally burnt and the back in my burrito was also burnt. There were hardly any eggs or hash browns in the burrito too. The steak was cooked well done in my friends skillet even though he asked for medium and the toast was barely toasted. I certainly wont be returning here.

Just ate here for the first time this morning. Was impressed. Breakfast potatoes were the bomb. Green chile was on point, I smothered the eggs and potatoes. Steak was big and cooked well. Service was good. They were very busy but my order came out fairly quickly. I will be back.

Came at 11:00am on a Monday. Two servers were serving 20 tables but our drinks, food, and bill came quickly. Food was good, big portions, and cheap, ~$20 for two people. You can sit where the kitchen is viewable also. Staff was nice, didnt get our Servers name. Will be back.

This little diner really does "hit the spot". Its got the old school feel of a real mom and pop shop that you can just get all the great breakfast foods at. These little diners are few and far between, I think, and its great to have one in this neighborhood, off Colfax.

I always try places twice, well both times they burnt my pancakes! Also my husband asked for an omelet without onion, and our server replys with, "we cant do that because it is a pre-made mix." Well why not just make handmade omletes like the menu says! Wont be back.

Stumbled in here; now ecstatic over the Greek skillet. Much love to the kitchen. And our waitress, Krystal, was perfection. Ask for her and you will be very happy with your entire experience. So glad that the place we were trying to go to was closed for the day.

Great food! I had the Chorizo skillet and it was delicious. Came with a side of biscuits and gravy, which was also right on. The portion size is very generous, but not overwhelming. Prices are very reasonable (you can definitely leave stuffed for under $10).

After what seemed to be a forever wait they delivered good portions of hashbrowns. And eggs to order. Seemed slow, food was good, and therefore the 4 star. Known for breakfasts. The burger fell short within my party. But whos fault is that?

This awesome little joint is worth checking out! Reasonably priced and amazing food that was cooked to perfection! Could use a deep clean though. Tables, menus, condiments, and even some of my dishes were not that clean my last visit.

I love their food. Their chilli cheese fries are my absolute favorite. Service is good. It can get so busy sometimes though. The best time to go is when they open at 6am, its just before the breakfast rush.

Wife and i ordered steak and eggs. We ask for the steaks to be cook medium rare one was well done the other rare. Eggs was to be cooked at medium. Eggs were slimey. Toast was not ev en cooked.

Best diner in Denver. Love the food, love the prices. Its always busy though, so try to pick off-peak hours to go, as there is limited seating. Go for breakfast and you wont be disappointed.

Can use a deep cleaning. The sticky tables, menus, and not so presentable wait staff can make you lose your appetite. Its kind of a "ghetto" Chicano atmosphere, but the food is delicious
