I was very disappointed considering how much hype they put on their menu (references to the Food Network or similar). I tried the green salsa hamburger that was between two flour tortillas because it was one of the hyped dishes. It was all presentation, but no flavor (HEB green salsa is better). I tried the Ruben, and again, all presentation, but no flavor (no Russian dressing, which is what gives most Rubens their distinct flavor). Their Key Lime pie was very heavy, and just appeared to be lime flavored cheesecake (not the classic light textured Key Lime pies of Florida or the east coast). Their cream pies tasted essentially like Jello pudding with whipped cream. Their cinnamon rolls looked inviting, but were very white (undercooked???) and doughy. The cinnamon crust was a shallow layer on the bottom of the roll, beyween the roll and a paper wrapping. It was impossible to scrape the cinnamon crust off the paper without removing the paper and eating it, too. The white filling in the cinnamon roll is tasteless and nondescript, and it is not clear what it is (lard with some sugar, maybe??). I have eaten in restaurants all over the US and the world. The hype for this one is undeserved, and I cant recommend it.

I need to make a confession. In my seven years at Aggieland, I finally paid a visit to this diner just a few days before leaving this town. The moment I entered the dining area, I regretted not having come here earlier. The interior augurs a sense of homely comfort and yet has a historical appeal. The menu has tons of equally inviting and hence perplexing options. This was one of the first places to be featured on Food Networks show and I decided to try one of the featured items - the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with grilled mushrooms. It was just a few days before the start of the new school year and even at 3:30 PM on a Thursday afternoon there was a continuous stream of people flowing in. The service was reasonably fast and looked delicious. The steak was juicy and cheesy, just as it should be. The bread was surprisingly soft and made for a killer combination with the meat. I wish I had room left for their much talked about homemade pies and that I had ventured into this place much much earlier. Its totally worth the 15-minute drive from the heart of the city. PS: Take a moment to check out the newspaper they use to layer the serving plate. You might be pleasantly awestruck, I was!

This place has some interesting history it was actually bought from NewYork and transported way down here in Texas. Food quality was excellent. Some of the best deserts and pies you will ever have. Ive had the biscuits and gravy. They were very different from what Ive had before. Then the breakfast pizza was well... different as well. Its not like any other restraunt Ive been to before. Whatever you order, its going to be great. Portions are large, beware. The service is good but not the best. I still left a good tip because it was such a cool place. They have a bar next door where you can bring your own liquor. There is also a large covered outdoor area to eat and play games. There are lots of games to pick from. Different, interesting, good, and a good time. I met an older couple here who talked with myself and my friends. It was pleasant conversation and they shared the large pretzel they had ordered. Thats just unheard of where Im from in Houston. So if you go here, relax, be polite, and enjoy the company.

It was my first time eating there today. The host was pretty nice. Me and my boyfriend waited about 45 minutes which wasnt the worst because they had a musician and board games in the waiting area. When we finally got in we got really rude service. The waitress we got didnt look us in the eye once and spoke to us like we were stupid. She was very impatient and didnt come by to check on us the entire time. She made us feel very unwelcome and we will not be going back due to the way we were treated. We had a good while to look at the menu so when I asked to order a starter with our entrees she rudely kept telling me to order a different item. The food was fine, wasnt extraordinary. Nothing I havent been able to order elsewhere but I have no complaints. Only gave a second star because the manager comped our meal when we complained about the bad service we received from the waitress.

Stopped in on an evening whim and there were no lines or wait. I live relatively close by and it had good recommendations . I ordered the liver and onions and they were very good. It was smothered in onions and with real mashed potatoes. Good home style cooking. My first experience was good. Came back for a pizza and beer. Now they are brewing a couple of their own beers. I had a Belgium and one of the better ones I have tried in BCS. The pizza was very good and all hand made. They will even put anchovies on it! This is turning out to be my local go to for beer and fantastic sangrias and its just down the road here in SoCol.

Disgusting. Staff was friendly, but the old diner section was so dirty! Bugs and cobwebs in the windowsills and grime on the floor that looks like its been there a while. A dead fly was stuck to one of the condiment containers on the table. That place needs a deep cleaning with a powerwasher. Food was okay. It took forever and it came out completely cold. I had the Philly cheese steak and if youve had the real deal in Philly, dont waste your time. Blakes steak, food truck is 100 times better. Will not refer anyone to eat there and will not go again. Bleh!!!! Yuck.

I loved the food here but.....the people who work there are super rude! I felt like they had a grudge on us when we sat down. Jessica was our server and she just keep complaining about her job openly in front of customers and how she is going to be out of there in some weeks the whole crew was also cursing in front of their customers and there were families around. Then one of the workers in the back slammed our food on the table. I feel like this is a great place but the customer service is horrible. No tip for Jessica.

Hullabaloo was recommended to us by a friend. Once we arrived I had to convince my wife and kids to come inside as it is not your normal spit and polished chain restaurant. Once the food arrived and the family tasted it, there was no more convincing needed. The food was outstanding and the big cinnamon rolls we took for our breakfast the next morning were also wonderful. Definitely would recommend anyone from vegetarian to meat lover to try this out of the way diner. It is worth the drive.

A must-visit when youre in College Station! This little trailer restaurant was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. Their pancakes are bigger than your head and their breakfast potatoes are so delicious! Arrive early if youre trying to get breakfast on the weekend- theres likely to be a line. However, you can wait in the attached bar and dip on a coffee or mimosa and play board games while you wait.
