Today, September 4, 2016 at about 4:00 PM. I was traveling down the small Mesilla road on the west side of the building in which the Dog House is located. Upon passing the drive through window and continuing to pass the driveway area a black Acura Integra Coupe began pulling out. I honked and sped up because the car was approaching my driver side window and appeared to not see me in the road. I applied my brakes and looked through my mirrors where I saw Guthrie Ornelas who was driving flipping me off. I rolled down my window which is when I yelled at him for nearly hitting my vehicle and added some harsh language. At that time the Guthrie Ornelas, a man, got out of his car and approached my driver side window. He began to call me crazy while at my driver side window. I felt my physical safety was at risk. I raised my hand with my palm facing outward and told Guthrie Ornelas to get away from my car and rolled up my window while he was still verbally assaulting me. I made a u-turn in the street and proceeded to the Dog House to address a manager. I saw the black Acura turn down the street towards Avandia De Mesilla as I exited my car and began approaching the building. At that time, I requested to speak to a manager and took a seat outside on the patio furniture. I reached out to my boyfriend and requested that he be there with me as I addressed the situation as I did not feel comfortable addressing this alone. Shortly after I got off the phone two managers appeared, one being a female and the other being Guthrie Ornelas whom I was just in the altercation with. It was evident at this time that Guthrie Ornelas had turned around and came back to the Dog House to confront me, considering I witnessed him leaving the area. While I was seated he came up to me again and started telling me that I was crazy and how he hadn’t done anything wrong. His actions and defensive posturing made me feel threatened by him. I didn’t respond to Guthrie Ornelas verbal abuse and simply raised my hand with my palm facing outward and informed them I didn’t want to address the situation until my spouse had arrived. At that time Guthrie Ornelas who was confrontational towards me left to get another manager that was at the Andale’s location. As they returned, my spouse was parking and exiting his vehicle, and the man who had been verbally abusive towards me began speaking with my spouse as they approached the building. It was apparent that Guthrie Ornelas was attempting to manipulate the situation before I felt comfortable and I had a chance to speak about what just happened. While they entered the patio area, I took a picture of them where you can physically see the manager, behind my spouses back, continuing to make threatening and confrontational gestures towards me. I began to recount what had just happened to my spouse without addressing Guthrie Ornelas that had been confrontational towards me. All the while, the man audibly continued to deny my recounts of the situation and discredit me. He protested my claim that he had flipped me off and approached my window. He attempted to discredit my claim of him approaching me while I was sitting in the patio area and turned to the female manager and asked for self-validation, where she supported his claim. Her disdain for me is evident in the photos I took of her and because of her body language and posturing I felt threatened by her as well. As my spouse and I continued speaking about the incident, I had to requested for Guthrie Ornelas whom caused the incident to leave multiple times, after already asking for him to leave multiple time throughout the entire confrontation. After the third request the female manager motioned for him to finally leave the situation. In the conclusion of the discussion my spouse presented two situation I

The food was good but the service is horrible. The green chile chicken enchiladas are wonderful but the service I received was unbelievably poor. Ive tried the restaurant a couple of times and each time the staff act as if they dont want to serve me. The last time I went other patrons even commented on the way I was treated by the waitstaff. The last time I went, here are examples of how we (I and my dinner companion) were treated differently than other patrons: 1. I and my dinner companion were not served until people who came in after us were helped. 2. When the hostess sat others she took their drink orders. Our drink order wasnt taken until the waitress came about 5 minutes after we were seated. 3. I asked for extra napkins of the waitress multiple times and she didnt bring them. I finally asked the hostess for them and she snatched them from the counter. Once she saw me looking at her then she said that I interrupted her cleaning a table and thus the reason for her attitude in getting me extra napkins. (It was this visible display that warranted comments from other patrons.) 4. The waitress would check-in on other tables and gave drink refills. She never stopped at our table except when we asked others to get her for us. Each time she came she acted as if it was a bother for her. There was a point at which she wasnt even attempting to feign courtesy. As I said, Ive gone to try it more than once to be sure I wasnt just experiencing the waitstaff on an off day. However, the consistent biased treatment I received from the waitstaff and hostesses reminds me of the discriminatory treatment I faced during the 70s and 80s.The obvious racist, anti-Black treatment I received when patronizing the establishment far outweighs the quality of the food.

With all the positive reviews posted, we entered this restaurant tonight prepared to be amazed. Well, Virginia Im afraid there really isnt a Santa Claus. However, if you like green enchiladas where the cheese isnt melted and the meat for the beef tacos is tough, then this is THE place for you! The signature green enchiladas can be ordered three ways: 1. They come rolled as part of several combo meals. 2. Can be ordered rolled à la carte or 3. Theyre an entrée dish served stacked. Ordering them as an entrée dish, we asked if we could get them rolled vs. stacked. The waitress said no problem. Unfortunately, when we dug into the dish it was very obvious that none of the cheese in these babies was cooked. So, when we notified our waitress of the problem, she advised that it was because of how we ordered them. Oh, really? She went on to explain that its very difficult for the kitchen to get them cooked fully when theyre rolled. Would we like her to put the dish in their salamander to heat it up? Ah, no thanks. How this kitchen gets the rolled enchiladas cooked for the combo plates or the à la carte choices on this menu is now a total mystery. The signature beef tacos are presented beautifully; plated with a green salad, grilled onions, cubed beef, and three green limes for squeezing. The corn tortillas are wrapped in foil and you put them together yourself. This is a fun way to do this dish; however, the meat was tough and the limes had no juice, but the grilled onions were really good! We dont usually ever write up a review like this one, really. Its just too bad that though this restaurant might deserve high praise on most days, it certainly fell short tonight. ;o(
