I went here back in 2010 and havent been back until recently. The experience was EXACTLY the same. At least theyre consistent. Wow, this one is hard to review. Perhaps Ill start by making a list: Pro: *Good food - the food was delicious and the portions very large. Price - for the amount of food, the price was excellent. *Friendly service - despite the slowness due to the crowds, the service was very friendly. *"Neighborhood-y" feel - if you like the feel of a neighborhood place with lots of regulars, then this is a good place. Con: *VERY crowded - If you arent a regular, expect to wait. I noticed that regular customers who came in AFTER us got seated BEFORE us. Not a good way to win new customers. *Slow service - I am not used to having to wait for a cup of coffee or water. To be fair, most of the slowness was due to the place being packed rather than "bad service" but slow is still slow. *Cramped - even despite the crowds, the place is small and cramped. Some of the isles (and the path to the bathroom) is so narrow that I can see people who are even "slightly plump" not being able to get there without brushing the dishes on the tables of other diners. Summery: If you are in a rush (long table wait) or if you want to linger over coffee (I dont mean to rush you but is this ready...), then this is definitely NOT the place for you to go and enjoy yourself. However, if you like a lively neighborhood spot with good food at good prices, then give it a try. Its worth going at least once for the experience. I can certainly see this being a fantastic place to go (perhaps sitting at the counter) for a summer afternoon snack or late lunch when it is their slow time..

The good: The food here is absolutely delicious. I always order breakfast when I come, but the menu is pretty large and they serve lunch / dinner as well. For breakfast, the pancakes are fluffy, yet cake like, and have plenty of flavor and are great with some butter and syrup. The portions, depending on what you order are also generous, and I typically get the hungry man special, which comes with just about everything you would ever want to eat for breakfast. The service is also generally very friendly, and quick given how busy they get on weekends. The bad: The prices are a bit high for breakfast food, and they get absolutely packed on the weekends. You can expect to wait 30 minutes plus if you come during prime time. This location is very small, and there is no parking lot so you may need to drive around to find street parking (and pay a meter). The verdict: If you arent in a rush, definitely come to Deluxe Town and have an unbelievable breakfast with friends or family. The menu is very large and there is something for everyone, and you wont go wrong with the hungry man breakfast. Bring your appetite and good company and enjoy your weekend!

I used to frequent this diner and always had a good experience. However my experience yesterday was inexcusable. - In an empty diner, we waited forever for service and the server was not at all friendly. - Each person received their indidually, the last of us a full 10 minutes after the first of us had finished eating. - The portions were tiny, my mother-in-law who eats like a bird walked away hungry - Part of our order was forgotten - The part that came was wrong - The childrens menu was a rip-off - When my allergic wife pointed out that her pancakes were supposed to have no butter, they took the plate, scraped off the butter and flipped the pancake over as if not seeing the butter could trick her allergies. Inexcusable! We are never going back.

My mission for the 2012 motorcycle season was to find the best breakfast hash in and around the Lowell, MA area. I’ve travelled almost 100 miles for breakfast, but I love hash! I call it my "Hankerin for Hash" motorcycle tour. It’s been mostly diners and I usually sit at the counter. The Deluxe Town Diner in Watertown, MA was the coolest diner and had the best hash that I have ever had! It’s a little pricey ($18 for breakfast for one with a good tip), but it was excellent! The hash was more like shredded corned beef, but excellent! And the sweet potato pancakes with pecans were fantastic!

Yes its diner-cramped and diner-well-used, but the service is diner-friendly and the food is diner-good, because its THE diner~ They have a wondrous menu spanning all manner of breakfast and other-meal-y delights, and its always impeccably prepared (consistently perfect eggs on my Benedict). Portions are on point; they give you enough that youre not sure if you can finish it all, but you do, but just barely, because its so good (offer not valid on The Deluxe Colossal Hungry Person Special; theres no way youre finishing all that).

Good atmosphere, good food, good place to eat. One bug I noticed: The place page shows the diner in the correct place, but if you are browsing the map for "fork and knife" restaurant icons, the icon is shown in a wrong place (a graveyard ~0.6 miles East on Mt Auburn). This looks like a duplicate listing or a bug, and was very confusing for me the first time I tried to find the restaurant. If youre having trouble finding it, the diner is located at the GPS coordinates: 42.370979, -71.157992

Great diner fare, especially for breakfast and lunch. Stick to these choices, or to their well made salads, for a satisfying meal (their dinners, from ribs to stir fry, can disappoint). Wonderful variety of pancakes, and good vegetarian choices. Tips: Arrive before 10 a.m. on weekends to avoid a long wait for brunch, and dont expect to dally long during their busy times; the proprieter will gently prod you if your server doesnt get you moving when your plate is cleared.

Good breakfast joint. My lady says the pancakes are solid and they get extra points from me for making their corned beef has from scratch! Decently priced, havent had everything on the menu, but happy to go their for bfast. They move people through there pretty quickly, but it can get crowded and if its the winter and you are near the door its cold! Havent had lunch or dinner there, but have heard it leaves something to be desired.

Wide variety ranging from comfort food to a little more adventurous, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast all day. They usually have gluten-free bread and pancakes, which is a plus for me. If you can have gluten, try the babka french toast for a real treat (Im told). You can order a pot of tea, choosing from a good list of loose teas, and the server will keep coming back to refill your coffee if you so desire.

We went here for the first time yesterday because of all the great reviews. Man was this place banging!! There was a 20 minute wait out the door. Our waitress was friendly, the food was good and there was a lot of it. We sat at the counter, so we were able to watch them cook our food. This place puts out food like a well-oiled machine but it is well done diner food. We will definitely be back for seconds :-D

Prompt, cheerful, knowledgeable service: "If you want your toast well done, ask for burnt." Sure enough, it was perfect. Breakfast was exactly what it ought to be in a diner. Salty sausage, eggs over easy with runny yolks, crispy home fries with nice brown toast. And there might have been a sprig of parsley around somewhere. Free refills on very drinkable coffee. If you go on the weekend therell be a line.
