I went with my small group of friends on Friday night for some karaoke. The decor in the bar feels very "rustic Colorado." The staff was friendly and very pleasant. While it was disappointing that there was no upstairs bathroom, it wasnt too hard to go downstairs. That being said, the stalls in the womens room dont have fully functioning locks. Which is a bit worrisome. Getting to the bar upstairs is difficult. The tables are placed super close to it, so that when people are at them, you really cant get to the bar without someone knocking into you. Besides the small dance floor, theres only one other way to get to the karaoke stage--a very narrow walkway crowded by a long table. Their karaoke set up isnt bad. Its not great, but its not bad. Being able to use their computer to look up a song and input your name was a nice touch. Felt as though people were able to spend less time looking for a song that way. The background instrumental (karaoke music without the lyrics) was WAAAAY too loud. Ended up changing my song because screaming into the mic for a slow song kills the feel of it. In my experience, bars that care more about selling drinks and less about the karaoke event typically drown out the mic with background instrumental. Tl;Dr: Taking off two stars since womens bathrooms dont lock--and are on bottom floor. Getting to the upstairs bar and karaoke stage is a challenge due to poor layout. Karaoke background instrumentals were way too high.

Karaoke was super cliqueish and not fun. Went here last night for my birthday with a small group of friends. We had heard they had fun karaoke, so we went to try it out. Now, none of us are Mariah Carey and we all know this, but karaoke is a good time as long as you just go for it, right? Apparently not at this place. There was a small group of people that were decent enough singers, and they seemed to all know each other, including the DJ. They sang quite a bit of songs each throughout the night. Our group was clearly not welcome. When one of us would go sing, most people would death glare and refuse to applause. Because it was so unwelcoming, I made my husband go up with me when it was my turn. When his turn came up a few songs later, the DJ told him he couldnt sing because he already went and to get off the stage. Um WTF, dude, all your friends can sing 5 and 6 songs a night but we only get one each? Super rude and embarrassing. Suffice it to say, we will never be going back here, and definitely telling all of our friends to stay away. Only go here if you are friends with the DJ and can put up with a bunch of American Idol wannabes acting like divas all night. Lame.

The night life here was way better than I expected. We had only planned on showing up for an hour or so and ended up staying all night! The type of people there were pretty chill and fun. There were some cos players and people of all ages 21+. The atmosphere was wonderful and very historical. I do wish they had a bathroom upstairs but oh well. The guy who did Kareoke was amazing! Best DJ (is that what you call them still?) I have ever seen doing Kareoke. There was a nice range of singers but some were amazingly good. They have three pool tables that are a bit old but the staff was very friendly helping us when the balls got stuck. They have a smoking deck out back where some people chilled out singing and such and everyone was very social. They have food, we didnt eat but a lot of other people were. Drink prices pretty average. A couple deals. Overall a great place and I will be going again!

First off I live on the westside, I know all the bars around here. Meadow Muffins has zero seating on friday and Saturday nights, so we wonder just across the street to t&b's. The bar is killer. Until closing time, instead of saying hey the joints closed, I had some 1980's haircut dude looked like dave mustaine from megadeath, rip a glass right from my mouth as I was drinking. With over 50 people left in the place he said bars closed. So go to have a good time, look out for the beer nazi, dave, he must be in a hurry to hit on the two hot blondes who work there, I bet the guy still lives in his grandmas basement.

We came to this bar from out of town and we sat for 2 hours and did not get a chance to sing. We asked the DJ 3 different times if we could sing and he said yes all three times and even said I would be the last one never happened. I even offered the DJ cash to let me sing one song and not even money could persuade him to let a new person sing over the locals who had a few turns on the microphone. I wasted my whole night giving this place a chance. If your just coming for a drink they drinks are cheap but so is the place it self. I hate leaving bad reviews but this was just total BS.

I have been floated in and out of several groups of "friends" over the last few years mostly due to work BUT the place I recommend and frequent myself without any hesitation is TnB. Lindsey! Heather! Tony! Kirsten! Yeah I spent a few bucks once or twice here but Im going to put my money into something I love NOT a chain or a legendary local ma & pa shop gone sour with entitlement and greed. If you want to feel welcome, be welcomed & leave legitimately eager to come back to see the gang then Thunder & Buttons is more than worth it.

I left a comment on their facebook page, but since it wasnt positive they decided to delete it, so writing a review instead. One waitress to work the entire floor. The food was poor, I had to send my dish back and lost my appetite. Then me and my husband enjoyed vomiting for the whole night from food poisoning from the calamari. I had to keep running back and forth to the kitchen to get my order fixed since there was only one waitress around. Poor service, poor food, food poisoning. Enough said.

Great service. Clean place. Even has carpet. That should be a no, no in restaurants. But this place is very clean. I ordered the Cottage Pie. 10 bucks. Very tasty. But seriously very little meat. They charge 10 dollars for small scoop of mash potatoes and gravy with very small pieces of vegetables. It was very tasty. But no meat. The burger was very, very thin. Very clean tasty food. But if you like your meat. Id eat somewhere else.

Nice local bar and grill. Located in Old Colorado City (Colorado Springs), this place gets its name from a guy that used to race his two bull elk and wagon up and down the main drag, of course their names were...Thunder and Buttons. Great beer selection and good food with friendly smiling faces and a great atmosphere! If you want some local color, this place is a sure bet! Highly recommended!

The place was a cool place to have drinks with my family that was in from Chicago. The service was good and so was the food. I thought it would be busier to be honest. I also thought the bar would be bigger. More places to sit. I only gave it 3 stars cause I didnt see the whole place. I didnt go upstairs, where bingo was being played. Ill go back again for sure.
