Flip-flops in Colorado
On our most recent visit, Thursday, November 20, noon, the thing that unfortunately stands out is the horrible staff experience. The dining room was pretty full so we took the booth next to the food trash/dirty dish station and the woman cleaning tables was apparently in a very bad mood because she dropped every dish, threw every loud object she could get her hands on, Im not surprised so many plates have chips on them! I had a roaring headache by the time we left and conversation was impossible. She sounded pleasant but she was an angry beast with those dishes! Made for a bad overall experience. Food was better than it had been for breakfast this summer (which was the last time I was here because, well, the food was pretty awful then--easily our worst family experience here, my kids and husband never want to go back). I like the fact there are more little individual bowls for servings instead of having to scoop out everything cafeteria-style, this was especially nice with the desserts. Wish the salad bar had more offerings (very skimpy and needs to be rotated better (wilted spinach=yuck), check out even Chuck E. Cheese for more ideas, even they do a good salad bar). I love bleu cheese dressing but that stuff was congealed. It could not have been safe. More Asian offerings would be great (usually theres one, almost always orange chicken). Add some spices and some additional veggies to your chicken pot pie, its SO close to being good. Add some Asian noodles to that cold rice offering (which sat there mostly empty and not being refreshed the entire time we were there). And for lunch, how about a small sandwich bar? How about some fish? (I think there was some bit of white fish in water thing, but the serving dish stayed empty while we were there; breaded fish sandwich looked as hard and dried out as shoe leather, noticed not one person took any). Shrimp (even a bit for the salad would be nice)? Soup was awful, so perhaps a better recipe for soup? Chicken noodle? BBQ chicken was the best thing offered, also a terriaki chicken that was only out for a brief time (leftovers?) was really tasty. Nasty tasting bread pudding. No one was taking any so theres no sense making something that obviously is not being made well. Sign said apple cobbler where the bread pudding was, THAT sounded good. Better quality ice cream, that stuff tastes so second rate, food kitchen quality. More meat offerings at lunch. Bit of roast beef? How about some sliced turkey? Cheese slices and decent bread? (Not the little white rolls that had no flavor.) Oh, lastly, the restroom was clean when we got there but used it when we left and it was pretty dirty. At dinner the bathroom is almost always filthy. Not sure if this is checked during the day but I suspect not. The long hallway to the bathroom is also usually pretty nasty (floors especially). Place seemed severely understaffed.

The mass advertising blitz that you all did with your CEO Tony was impressive and made the restaurant look appealing. After not eating at this restaurant for 6 years, primarely due to quality issues, we decided to give it another try. This restaurant was remodeled maybe 3 years ago and I have to say there was a lot of design thought put into it and it is very appealing and wll planned! Well, to my surprise the restaurant was not only very comfortable but the food quality was also very fresh and tasty. We were very pleased with our experience and planned to make this one of our destination restaurants in the future. Unfortunately the next visit and beyond have not been impressive in any way! I think there is a GM management issue at this location. I wont go into it on this review but suffice it to say the other reviews have identified the management issue. (Tony you really need to look into this!!!) I gave this a "3 Star" but it teeters on a "2 Star". The worst server we had in the 4 additional visits was a latino guy that told the table next to us he had worked there since the restaurant opened. (I would not hire him period) The best server was a young lady named "Song". She is welcoming, friendly and on top of her job! Besides the obvious GM issues that exist at this location, the food quality is VERY inconsistant and will again be the downfall of this restaurant if something is not changed. The advertising on TV with CEO Tony states that "hell make it right" if there is a problem is really just bogus. The review that you can do on the companys web site does not even ask the right questions or have an area to ask for someone to contact you from headquarters! So, likely corporate headquarters is not even aware of existing problems much less listening to a guest complaint. I will try this restaurant one or two more times and if there is no improvement my dollars will go elsewhere! Tony....do what you say and get this restaurant back into shape or else you may be shuttering this lost investment just like you did the other location in this city (twice).

It was pretty good considering the price. The price came to $10 with drink. I have a military discount though. Without that it probably would have been around $11.50 or so. Dinner is a couple bucks more. My only complaint was the limited number of main entrees... there were like 3... which would seem like plenty but they were all chicken based. They had a salad bar and soup though. There was also a lot of different comfort food/side dishes. Everything tasted pretty good and I definitely didnt leave hungry...lol. The place was clean and all of that. Good customer service as well. The only main thing I would change is the main entrees. Three is fine, just dont make them all chicken... or all beef... etc. I think they could significantly increase their sales also if they were to create a few specialty items. Something they do extra special. I ate at this one place in Colorado that had so-so food, but they had an award winning green chili. OMG, that was good. I still think of that place and wanting to go back next time I drive through the town... despite the rest of their food not being that great. Anyway, if they created a few items like this and maybe rotated when they were served, they would probably pick up a ton more regular customers. Just a thought.

My family visited this location on Sunday July 24th and we decided it would be our last visit. We stopped in for breakfast and the man at The Omelette station was so stingy with the toppings you would think that he purchased the groceries himself. I got 4 crumbles of bacon and 3 pieces of huge ham that was not even diced correctly. When we asked him for more meat in our omlettes we were met with a rude look, he then added two extra crumbles of bacon and proceeded to put our omlettes on our plates. On top of that the options at the buffet were not very much better. The pork link sausages were not done all the way, the mini waffles were burned and hard to chew and the scrambled eggs were disgusting. We pics through our food and decided to wait around for lunch. Lunch came out and it was not much better, even though it had just come out we thought it would be super fresh, but we were wrong. The fried shrimp tasted like it was prepared hours before.. they were lukewarm. The fried chicken and baked chicken with fresh and good but every other side was mediocre at best. They really need to consider more of a selection, and a better crew for Sats because they were absolutely ridiculous. Golden Corral it is.
