COLORADO SMOKEHOUSE at Flintridge and Academy is horrible. I went in there last night and ordered take out. When I got home the "hot link" sandwich was under cooked, bologna tasting (and thats kind). I ate a couple pieces out of 12 to 15 and realized it was disgusting, no problem right just take it back and get a refund or an exchange....... NOPE! Was told because I tasted it and brought it back the next day he wouldnt offer me anything. I asked the guy if he was serious, that he is going to let a $6 sandwich turn me into a negative customer towards there business.......YES. So if you go into this place and they serve crap, they will not make it right. Funny thing is Ive had this sandwich several times and they just started making it themselves...... AMATURES! why do you think so many restaurants fail. I do have a choice of where I spend my money and it will not be with you.

Just went here for the first time tonight and it was disgusting. There was no flavor to the meat at all. The beans were just awful and tasted like something from a can or worse. My friend had some catfish bites and they were horrible and under cooked with no flavor. The cornbread was dry and bland. This place uses absolutely no dry rub or and kind of smokehouse form of cooking. The BBQ sauces were just alright. I would rather have used sweet baby rays. The best thing I had there was a bottle of bud light because they didnt have blue moon. All in all I would say this is poor excuse for bbq. I honestly dont know how anyone thinks this place is decent. Ill go to Famous Daves next time, at least I know what to expect and their food is always good.

I have been there several times. Most of the time the service was great (one time the waitress had friends eating there). The "burnt ends" are great - when available. Almost every time we have been there, they were out of something we wanted to order. And yes, I have brought a lot of people here for a good meal. This is one of the better BBQ places in town. Never crowded on Sunday noon. Some evenings too crowded to get in. I try to arrive early in the evening and early in the week - no waiting and faster service. Their sides do not come from Sams Club (like some BBQs here in town). Sometimes over seasoned (good) and sometimes not enough (bad). Unfortunately, the sides are almost always room temperature.

Really nice staff, no matter who waits on me. The restaurant itself looks really cool inside, and is a cool place to eat. The problem is that the food just isnt that good. Ive been here three times, and Ive tried the Brisket sandwich, the Pulled-Pork sandwich, and the last time I went in, I got the Catfish fillet. The meat is okay, they dont cook it in sauce or anything so its pretty bland without their sauces, which are good. The reason Im giving this place 2 Stars however comes down to how disgusting their Catfish Fillet is. It was terrible. I ordered two and both of mine were SEVERELY burnt. They were also just about 4-5 inches long. I wont be back, sorry guys.

I really wanted to like this place. The waitresses were very friendly and I kinda liked the dive type setting. Unfortunately, the food was barely mediocre. The brisket tasted like I was trying my friends crock pot experiment and why was there powdered sugar on my corn fritters? Not like a little bit, completely covered. Corn fritters should not taste like day old refried donuts. I am a little offended that they charged me 17 dollars to taste kitchen nightmare level food. Unless your stopping at this place for its bar, Id suggest skipping it. I will not eat here again.

Ordered the 2 meat and 2 side plate this evening consisting of ribs, chicken, collard greens, and baked beans. The ribs were quite tasty and better than what I make myself. The chicken was pretty good too and better with a splash of sauce. Collard greens had a unique taste that grew on me with each bite. Baked beans were served barely above room temperature and were adequate. Overall a very good experience and I hope this place succeeds. The food is much better than Dickeys and Rudy.

This is my favorite barbecue in Colorado Springs and trust me- I am very familiar with the competition. I love the service, the food, and most importantly the selection of different sauces. They have several successes in the sauce line-up (I could be biased because I am a Chiefs fan, but my favorite is the "Kansas City"). One minor critique is I wish they brewed the iced tea. Very minor. I will definitely be back, this place is easily worth a weekly visit.

The beans and the fried mushrooms, pickles, and okra were good. The burnt ends were bad. It was like they had overcooked lean portions of their brisket until it was dry, then tried to make up for it with sugary sauce. The sauces were all a little off. The hot ones were a little too peppery and the vinegar sauces seemed heavy on the apple cider. I liked the mustard sauce. Everything else was average. Good music playing, but the bar tv was on Nickelodeon...?

I discovered this bbq place about 6 months ago and absolutely love it. The variety of sauces is great and they are all delicious. The brisket is my favorite with the carolina vinegar sauce. I love to go hang out here for football, everyone is friendly and willing to tell you all about how the food is cooked. The servers are super nice and cute! It has a great atmosphere for families and an awesome bar with local beers on tap. Im so glad this place opened!

I am not impressed at all. I got s 3 meat plate and a pulled pork plate. The brisket was bland and had really no flavor, while the rest of the meat was overly salted. My side of mac and cheese had so much fat floating in it, I poured it out and it was probably a tablespoon in the literal cup. Sadly it was a waste of 30 bucks. I would have much rather gone to DIckeys down the street. The only thing that was nice about this experience was the service.

Friendly enough staff but horrendous bbq, the brisket was dry, and had no semblance of smoke flavor, the pulled pork was wet, not moist, wet, it too had no smoke flavor and little seasoning, the cornbread, dry and flavorless, the chicken, dry and overcooked, their sauces were solid, but good sauce cant save bad meat. The beans were bland and the mac and cheese had so much pepper you couldnt taste anything else. How they remain in business is beyond me.

Ordered fried mushrooms for appetizer, they were sliced mushroom pieces in a breading so full of pepper I couldnt taste anything else. I also ordered the Mac and cheese. I received partially cooked noodles with pepper, no cheese. Peach cobbler had green peaches and partially cooked cake batter. Tried to talk to the waitress about the food, her reply was, I dont care, I didnt cook it.

The brisket was very tasty and I enjoyed their range of sauces. However: 1) It was a bit pricey for my tastes -- $7+ for a sandwich with no sides 2) The brisket was pretty fatty compared to other BBQ places we frequent 3) The cut of the brisket (cubes), combined with the fat, made it impossible for my wife to eat her brisket sandwich as a sandwich 4) I didnt care for their coleslaw
