I was really excited when I saw the new location open up in my neighborhood. My wife and I used to eat at an Egg and I in Colorado Springs regularly. On a Friday, I was able to take my 3 1/2 year old daughter for brunch. The waiter quickly took our order and brought us our drinks. Time went by and a few other customers were seated near us (not very busy). I watched as they ordered and were brought their food, meanwhile no food was brought to our table. The manager and a couple other waiters walked by us several times without as much as a word, making eye contact - I couldnt believe they didnt notice that we had not been served yet. After an hour of waiting, I finally got up and left and nobody said anything or seemed to even notice. After going somewhere else to get lunch, I came home and made a phone call to the restaurant to make my complaint. I was trying to give them a chance to make it right. I asked for the manager who sounded a lot like the person who took our order. He seemed totally baffled by the situation and assured me that if had he been working the area, it would have never happened, hmmm. He asked me for my email address and confirmed it, and said he would send me a coupon. Several days later now I still have not received anything.

I really loved this restaurant..........The food is pricey and if you ask for substitutes you get charged extra.......yet, my friends and I came every week and I brought my family here every weekend. The wait staff is fabulous! I think Ive known the owner, Theresa, over a year. My daughter and her family came on a week day. They requested a table with a window over looking the fields on the west side, instead of the messy construction on the north side. The hostess refused their request. My family will ALWAYS wait for a table to be cleared if we want to sit there......the hostess, Debbie, told Theresa that they wouldnt wait for a table to be cleared........NOT true. Today, we returned to The Egg and I......upon paying our bill, the owner started arguing with my daughter and son-in-law over the situation. What she did was wrong............very wrong.Theresa gave me a $10 gift certificate, but I was so embarrassed and uncomfortable. As sad as I am to say this..........we wont be back. To the wait staff..........thank you for all the smiles and good times.

My experience at The Egg & I was several weeks ago before Valentines. It was wonderful! It was pretty crowded but my husband and I got seated within about 10 minutes. The waitress was great and the food was wonderful. I had the Strawberry/Banana Waffle with eggs. I also had the ranch potatoes. My husband had an Omelet made to his specifications and grits and toast. He said it was the best omelet that he had ever had. I agree. My waffle and everything else was great. His birthday is this coming Wednesday the 21st and he told me that he wants to go back to The Egg & I this weekend for his birthday. By the way, the Manager came by and checked on a couple of times as well. I think everyone should try it. I would like to try it for lunch some time, but I love the Waffle so much that I have to get that when I go!

My experience was terrible here. The food was good, dont get me wrong but I walked into the restaurant and stood there in front of 3 employees with my family and was completely ignored. And then one of them speaks up and all they say is "this way" not "How are you guys?" or anything friendly like that. Than our waiter comes by and asks if we want anything to drink and only one of us said water and he rudely interrupted my girlfriend who was trying to order coffee and says "okay water all around" and walks away. On top of that, there was only 1 other table inside of the restaurant and they took an hour to even ge our food out. Terrible place. Needs to be shut down. Or restaffed because the owner seems like a stuck up you know what too.

Remarkably slow service, understaffed on a weekend, wait ended up being 3x longer than they said, took forever once seated, hour and ten minutes from when we arrived until food, was told we would be seated in ten minutes, and didnt feel it was acceptable for a breakfast restaurant. The wait times seem consistent with recent reviews. Had to try to chase a fly and fruit fly away from our food the whole meal. Food was good at least. Waiter did comp the whole meal which was appreciated given the experience.

My family and I have eaten there a few times, but today will be my last. We decided to place a to go order and about a third of the order was incorrect. This is by far the worst mess up Ive seen from here. To date, I have yet to have a to go order correct from here, but its typically not too bad. While the food is good, the fact that something as simple as getting an order correct shows a definite lack of management in the restaurant and reflects the quality of the employees hired.

This used to be a wonderful place but unknown issues must be causing its downfall. We went to the restaurant on a Tuesday morning at 1030 with only half the restaurant full and yet people waiting to be seated. There seemed to be no staff available and customers looked upset. It is good food but definitely not worth the lengthy wait to be seated and food prep time which is very slow. There are other restaurants of equal to better quality around. Management needs to be changed

Went on a Sunday and was told the wait would be 20-25 min. After over 30 min of waiting we went to check in with the hostess. After being ingnored completely for at least 10 min, the hostess finally gave us her attention to tell us that it would be minimum 30 more minutes because every table was full. Poor management skills and poor customer service. Never even had a chance to try the food, but I can assure you we wont be back.

This restaurant seems very poorly managed. We were told the wait would be 20 minutes, even though there were open tables around. it took about 40 just to get seated. Once seated our order was placed right away but the food took over an hour to arrive. We were told the check got lost in the kitchen. No breakfast food is worth waiting more than 90 minutes for.

Good experience. Ive noticed that this place has gotten bad reviews for service. We went on a Wednesday morning. It was moderately busy, but we got good service the whole time. The food was good as well. Specifically the biscuits and gravy, yum! Getting into and out of the parking lot is kind of confusing. Overall it was very good.

AVOID THIS RIP OFF!!! $7.00 FOR 1 PANCAKE!!!!!!Food was ok. My son wanted a pancake with his breakfast. When I received the bill they charged me $6.59 for the pancake. JUST THE PANCAKE!!!! The owner was there and refused to do anything about it. My family and I will never eat here again.
