What a neat place! Bucks in Woodside is a mythical Silicon Valley outpost where stories of wheelings and dealings have taken place over the last fifty years. Regardless of business deals, this place wheels and deals some delicious breakfast and lunch options. When you enter, youre thinking food, but then you immediately have to think, "What did I just walk into?" The place is decorated top to bottom with knick-knacks and movie relics and more. Even the carpet is an alligator pattern that you wouldnt notice until you catch a red eye staring at you. Anyway, its super kitsch and so enjoyable. Service ebbs and flows in terms of speed, most likely so you can chat and soak in everything around you (P.S.: Get up and walk around so you can take it all in-- theyve even got a silicon ingot and wafer in the back-- so cool to see!). The food is solid. Get a 2 x 2 x 2 or a 2 eggs meal -- theyre both so filling. Side note: Coffee is $4. Be prepared to drink plenty, and this is diner coffee were talking about, not Blue Bottle. So, food options are great, service is great, and the place cant be beat. Goin back soon.

This is definitely a hidden gem. A few of us decided to grab drinks and appetizers after spending the whole afternoon in Filoli garden. And boy, Im glad we went. The food was delicious, the server was kind and courteous, and the best part is the decorations. On our booth, we can see an actual copy of Microsoft Windows 1.0 framed on the wall. Theres a California plate named GOOGLE, and a note saying I wasnt smart enough to buy Googles stocks, but Im smart enough to buy the plate. Other than that, you can see a few other Silicon Valley memorabilia. Ill leave it out for you to discover yourself. If you enjoy food and appreciative of the Silicon Valley culture, youll definitely love this place.

Bucks is one of those hidden gems... filling for both the eye and the palate. Eclectic decorations and great Americana comfort food. I wish the beef wellington special was on the menu all the time, even if the price was a tad bit high. It was delightful and melted in my mouth.(One of the few times I will break from my gluten free diet restrictions) Also Nadine is the best server/manager ever! Its nice to see when management also helps out with tables instead of sitting behind a counter like at some restaurants Ive seen. Shes honest and works hard at what she does! Remember that you should always reward hard work with good tips!! Hope to see you at Bucks!!!

I went to Bucks for the first time yesterday, and although the food was not so great, I still had a good time and might go back with my kids. The decor is quirky and eclectic, and there is enough stuff on the walls to keep you interested even if you dont have an interesting dining companion. The food was medium quality; I would compare it to Hobees in Palo Alto. I ordered the bar steak sandwich, which came on toasted white bread. The steak came cut into thin slices and was overdone and a little tough.

Had lunch (more like brunch) here with a family member on a recent weekend. Its definitely true that this place is often overrun with people carrying laptops and giving pitches about their new startup or nonprofit to local VCs, but its still pleasantly casual. The food is not mind-blowing but its definitely solid, especially for breakfast and lunch options. Service wasnt great, but I didnt really come for white-glove treatment. Worth a visit for SV residents and visitors alike.

I think this restaurant is such a unique experience. The atmosphere is amazing, worthy all of the old memorabilia and such. Its also really fun for kids to find all of the fun objects around the restaurant. The food itself is decent: some of it excellent, some of it okay, and some of it not so good. However most things are pretty good. In my opinion, the food is classic but with a twist. I think that can be good or bad. Overall this is a really fun restaurant with poetry good food.

This place is like cheers, where everybody knows your name. The crazy stuff on the walls are fun for kids and adults. We go to brunch every other week at Bucks. Our kids love it, and it has such a great family atmosphere. The menus, which are updated once per season, have a tremendous amount of humor and insight. There is a scavenger hunt for the kids and always keep them occupied. Cant say enough good things about Bucks!

My 8 and 6 year old sons love eating here. The older one gets a plain burger and douses it with ketchup. The younger one gets a plate of bacon and dips the strips into honey. I get the chicken dish with lemon sauce and capers. The dishes tend to be large and a bit on the heavy side. The service is always terrific in my opinion, but I can see why some people wish it were faster. The menu is hilarious.

our waitress definitely wasnt overly friendly, and service was slow. and when our food came, i noticed almost right away that she had forgotten the avocado on my burger, but she was gone and didnt come back for at least twenty minutes, so i just went without. and the burger was great anyway! although i still cant help but feel that it would have been made better with avocado. what isnt??

The Silicon Valley group went here on our second night in San Fran. THE RIBS WERE INCREDIBLE. Unfortunately I couldnt finish everything on my plate beCAUSE THERE WAS SO MUCH IT MADE ME SUPER FULL AND HAPPY. Although Jayden managed to finish everything haha. There were lots of awesome and interesting stuff on the walls - it made the place seem homely and lively. Need to go back there again

The decor and silicon valley establishment vibe of this place makes it a must visit. Starting from the fun to read (and steal) menu to the weird bits and pieces on the wall as well as the special menu items that come and go (ask to get on the mailing list for something you like) its a great time in a nice location. The food is nice, but unfortunately, the coffee is pretty terrible :(.

You get one chance to make a good first impression and my first impression is bad to the point of never going back. No excuses for sitting for 20 minutes and then being told that someone "messed up" and didnt submit your order. As for the food, I cant comment as I walked out disappointed and still hungry. Found a much better lunch at the market across the street.

Dont go here in the mid afternoon when they are switching from lunch to dinner menu. Very disorganized, poor service. We had to wait too long to get our order taken then be told we couldnt order of the menu we had been given when seated, had to look at a whole new menu that lacked our original choices. Waitress distracted our whole visit.

Today was my first time here. I was with a group of eight. We arrived at noon in separate cars. Parking lot was very full. This is a very unique interior, love it. Service great. Food great and large portions. Fast service even though the restaurant was almost full. I highly recommend this place. They have been here a long time.
