Dont believe the reviewer who said that Anarbargh was his "worst dining experience forever." My guess is that it was posted by a competitor. Have a look at the major review websites and youll see that Anarbagh is very highly rated by most customers, to say nothing of newspapers and restaurant polls that call the restaurant either the best in all of LA or something close to it. Ive been eating at Anarbagh for at least a decade, and what they serve is the best Indian food Ive ever had ANYWHERE, at any price. Their lunch specials are substantial, they include excellent soup and a large piece of very tasty Naan (I prefer it to rice)-- and the price is dirt cheap! My own favorite lunch special is a standard with me, Lamb Curry, and never has it ever been less than delicious. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, the ambiance is much better than average (I take my girlfriends there for a good first-date impression!), and the cleanliness is excellent. I should mention that I was there earlier today, and I ordered a glass of their house red wine. It was an exceptionally good wine, and Ill ask them the wines label and type when Im next there, probably within the next week. I wish there were some way to assure you in person how good this place really is, but if I gave out my contact info it would be quickly abused by rogue data mining bots. What you may want to try is to look up my name in the phone book or Google it for a phone number. If you call, please remind me that your call is for my assessment of Anarbagh restaurant. Suffice it to say that if you eat at Anarbagh, especially for their lunch specials, you are in for a treat! Arthur Goulet

I am quite surprised at the poor reviews. Though I am sure poor service can happen on extremely busy occasions, I can only assume these reviews are either from a jealous competitor or from someone with no class. My family and I have ordered from this restaurant many times. I have gone to the restaurant to pick up the food a number of times and occasionally we have it delivered. I have always been greeted and treated with respect and have never once witnessed rudeness from a staff member to a customer in all my visits. Sometimes I order from the car as I am pulling up out front and therefore have to sit at the counter for a bit while the meal is prepared. This gives me plenty of opportunity to experience the staff and the attitude of the management. They are quiet, respectful and elegant people. They are not loud, do not ask personal questions, and treat their guests as would an upscale restaurant. They even remind customers about the parking meters in front. I left my credit card and the manager ran to the car to catch me as I was driving off. This is exactly the level of service that one should expect from a decent establishment. The food has always been perfect and we have never once had a bad experience at this restaurant. I cant say it will never happen, but so far, so good.

First, the food here is AMAZING!! Best Indian food around!! The big question would be, is it worth the wait???? I often come here for lunch and have never had an issue. But dinner last night, OH MY!! We were seated immediately, waiters were friendly, got menus within minutes, and ordered right away because we knew what we wanted. And then we waited, and waited, and waited ..... our iced tea was empty and it took MANY attempts to flag down a waiter to get more ... the two lentil crackers lasted as long as we could make them, but not nearly long enough. The people behind us kept asking for the coffee they ordered and the check (it took 3 requests). After about 50 minutes our food came. And it was great. But I felt horrible for the family sitting across from us ....they got their food as we were leaving, and they had been seated before we came in.

My wife and I love Indian food and we have tried almost all the Indian Restaurants on Ventura from Sherman Oaks to Woodland Hills. We always wished we could find one with great service considering we spend proposterous amounts of dough at these places. Finally, Anarbagh provided the best Indian waiter we can find. Shohir made us feel welcome, he was prompt, courteous and had a great smile (very hard to come by with Indian Waiters). During our visit at Anarbagh, another waiter demostrated the typical ANGRY Indian waiter syndrome, but it didnt matter much because Shohir made us forget that bit of experience with his A plus service. If the owner of Anarbagh or other Indian restaurants reads this, please use Shohir as the prototype for your waiters, so that the entire experience at your restaurant is not overshadowed by ANGRY Indian waiters.

Anarbagh was recommended by a local friend as a great restaurant after my husband & I moved to the area. We were sold on the food after only the 1st visit & continue to frequent whenever we can. I highly recommend Anarbagh to any diner, whether an experienced Indian food fan or a 1st timer, both will always walk away satisfied & craving more. The service is fantastic & very child friendly. We now let the servers bring their own recommendations to the table & they even cook "low-fat" dishes for me after learning I was dieting (still DELICIOUS)!!!! My husband always ate the vandaloo, after sampling the tandoori shrimp he now can never decide & we usually end up with both. Atmoshere/ambiance is great, restaurant is very clean & well maintained, I cant recommend this restaurant enough!!

Anarbagh is by far my favorite Indian restaurant, and probably my favorite retaurant in general. To begin with, I love the fact that you can choose how hot you want your food. It makes it perfect when my whole family orders, because those of us who like it spicy can have it that way while everyone else can have it milder. Additionaly, the people could not be friendlier. They always offer us free beer while we wait for our food when we pick it up, and remember us each time. They are always very kind. Their menu has excellent variety, but I find myself ordering the Sag Aloo each time I go. I could eat it every day for the rest of my life and be as happy. I highly suggest trying it.

I was visiting LA over the weekend and my local friends took me to eat Indian as some of them where vegetarians. I was pleasantly surprised when i went to Anarbagh and found out that just like here in New York this "Indian" restaurant turned out to be a Bangladeshi One with Superb Food and Service. I just Wish the Banglas would start writing Indian And Bangla Cuisine, I mean everyone from London to New York knows that most "indian" restaurants are owned and cheffed by Non Veg Banglas, it makes complete sense. I mean I wouldnt trust a pure vegetarian to cook up my tandoori chicken......So go Bangla food......u rock!

Im a big fan of Indian food and have eaten at a ton of different Indian restaurants, even in London which has some pretty good stuff. Anarbagh is better than any place Ive ever been, hands down. Weve taken a lot of people there and they always go back on their own. Cant say enough about it. Its family owned, almost all of staff is related in some way and theyre truly stellar. Definately one of my favorite restaurants of any genre (and how can you give it 2 stars just because youre a vagetarian??!! I highly recommend the saag paneer or vegetable byriani, MMMMMMM!!!!)
