We loved the menu for dinner, and went back for buffet and unfortunately the food options were very limited, and missing lots of known Indian food. It was Missing lamb curry, chicken curry , sambusa , and lots of other known Indian food. Most food were very cheap. and most of the time the dishes were empty and we had such a hard time to ask them to bring some food out . Specially chicken tandori that they would bring 2 pieces at a time. And were not even fresh and hot, I believe they were warming them up. It was either frozen or left over. Any way not recommending the buffet at all , but dinner that u pick from menu was really good.

Had the worst experience with this restaurant today. Their customer service is horrible. I wasted my time, gas and energy going to the restaurant to pick up my order. An order they said they never got even though it showed on my end that they did and GrubHub also confirm Shalimar received it. I sat there looking stupid waiting to know what was going on. I finally asked about the status of my order and they said they didnt get it. They did not care to help nor fix the issue even after I showed them they received my order 35 mins ago. I will never go back there. They didnt value me as a customer.

I have been coming to this restaurant for more than 15 years, I and all my friends agree that it is the best Indian food in the area. I have no idea why anyone would complain. Each time I return to England I go to one or more Indian restaurants, and the Shalimar compares well with all of them. Personally my favorite at the Shalimar is the Beef Vindaloo. Highly recommended.

Update. Below is my first review of the place which was for dinner. We went back for a lunch buffet and it was a pain to get them to bring some food out, almost as though we were causing them discomfort. Disappointing. The best Indian food weve had in a very long time. Highly recommended.

Best Indian Food in Los Angeles . Been going here for years , Anywhere else is always a let down so I just keep coming back . Gotta goto England to get as good as this place and thats just 2 far ;) Not Fancy Not Expensive just amazing food.
