Miserable ! The owner/manager is a complete idiot. Ordered Pad Ke Mao, a VERY common dish available from numerous street vendors in Bagcock and available in any of the numerous Thai restaurants Ive eaten at all over the U.S. Was told the "chef" refused to make anything not on the menu. Obviously, they dont get the concept of trying to please customers. When I complained to the owner, first he said they didnt know how to make it. I called him on this obviously lie and then he told me they didnt have the right kind of rice noodles, so obviously he did know how to make it. He also said Thai restaurants dont serve that in the U.S. I told him that was B.S. and said lets take a look at menus for Thai restaurants on the internet and he would see they all serve it. He turned his back and refused to continue the conversation. Having worked as a server, assistant manager and manager in several restaurants, I was taught, if the customer has particular allergies, or simple requests, and its not difficult, or time consuming for the kitchen to accomodate said requests, you do it. Thats why its call the food SERVICE industry, you idiots. BTW, their Tom Kai Gai soup was VERY medicore. I realize Tracy, Ca., is not as food hip as some other large metropolitan cities, but its apparent its citizens do not know what good/great Thai food is supposed to taste like.

I loved Thai Cafe for years, my family and I would take ever single opportunity to go there to eat but something really nasty came from a recent ex employee. it came to our attention that the waitstaff was directed to reuse food that was sent to the kitchen. If you didnt eat all your steamed rice it was put back in the cooker. Didnt use all your extra salad dressing? back into the container it goes. Didnt finish your curry? thats ok, the next table will. there has been multiple occasions where we had the salad kai or fried rice and didnt finish it all and asked to take it to go and when we got back home all of the chicken was gone and come to find out, a friend of ours had the same experience. on top of that Thai Cafes dining rooms cleanliness is terrible. if they keep their dining room, where the customers are, that disgusting imagine what is behind the scenes that we dont see. needless to say, i will not be setting foot in there ever again.

This resturant has excellent food. I have been there numerous times and each time the food is just as good. The Salad Kai, the beef in red curry, the fried rice, the shrimp appetizer - all excellent. The price averages per dish, but I have never spend more than $10.00 for a lunch dish.

Tom Yung Goong was the high point of the meal; curry was good but not outstanding. Family atmosphere, attentive service, flavorful and enjoyable Thai food.

Hey, this place may not be some swanky Rodeo drive eatery, but it is definitely great food good people, and a "comfortable" atmosphere.
