THE WORST RESTAURANT HERE ON PLANET EARTH This Outback Steakhouse is a total disaster. I must say, You can get better food out of a trash can. The waitresses were a bunch of snobs, hateful and hostile drama queens, and the food had way too much salt. The next day I could still taste salt in my mouth. The waitresses are nothing but a bunch of manipulators, gaming the customers on the tables, the food, and the drinks. The restaurant was only half occupied and they were unable to seat the customers. I waited and waited for my drink, that was already made, 10 minutes goes by and the drink is still sitting at the bar. So, I get up and go over to the bar to get the drink, then they rushed the drink (around the other side of the bar) (out of my view) over to the table, now I am at the bar and my drink is at the table, so they can game me one more time. We came here to have a nice dinner, and to have the waitresses play whack-a-mole with our food and drinks in completely unacceptable. These people are sick in the head. Also, the food had to be sent back because our steaks were raw, not medium well, they ended up tough as shoe leather, and it took forever to get the bill. It was nightmare dinner - horrible, the worst dinner ever. Apparently, the waitresses are suffering from a severe case of narcissism and they are working full-time on their egos. The food, the drinks, and the service was total BS. These people are completely and totally dysfunctional. (prima donnas) 1 They gamed us on the table 2 They gamed us on the food 3 They gamed us on the drinks 4 They gamed us on the bill 5 They gamed us on the service These people are truly some despicable human beings. Never Again.................

Waitress had no personality. She brought the wrong drink to the table. She forgot to bring the bread. I ordered the Victoria Fillet cooked medium, got a different cut of meat well done. I told her it was not a fillet, she argued with me and said it was, but offered to bring another if my fillet was not acceptable. A long time later a fillet came to the table. It was obviously a different cut of meat from what was brought before--twice as thick and a different shape. By the time this piece of meat came Id eaten my sides and my dinner companion was finished with his meal. I cut into my fillet and blood ran everywhere. It was cooked so rare it was actually completely raw on the middle. I touched the center and it was cold. The outside was almost burned. My dinner cost $40 and basically only consisted of mashed potatoes. When we left the bill was confusing because they charged us for the original meat and the raw fillet. I showed the manager how the second one was cooked and she said I shouldve let them cook it longer as if it was all my fault. I told her they shouldve gotten it right the first time, or at least the second time. Complaining in public is embarrassing. I will never go there again.

Food was good, service was not. First my 2 kids and I were seated with menus. All 3 menus did not have a kids menu. So I went back to the entrance to ask for kids menus. I was told, "Its on the thing on the table." By this, I am assuming they mean the digital device. I sit back down. A moment later our waitress stops by, hands full, asking if she can get our drink order. As I am asking my kids what they want, I can hear the waitresss cell phone loudly ringing. She slowly starts to lean away from the table, clearly wanting to answer her phone. So I quickly place our drink order. She ducks out of sight and returns a minute later, repeating our drink order incorrectly. I repeat our drink order. The food arrives.... Well, some of it. My kids food arrives, and the gentleman serving asks if I ordered anything. I tell him that I ordered soup, salad, and an entree. He looks confused. The waitress arrives and says mine is almost ready. Of course, now my kids are completely done eating before my main ever arrivas. Like being a single parent, entertaining children at dinner isnt hard enough.

this is the letter i wrote to the outback web site: Last night we had the singularly unfortunate experience of dining at your restaurant. The entire experience was bad. It felt as if your restaurant wanted to get us in and out as fast as possible with as little courtesy as was needed. Our waitress seemed distracted and our table seemed to be an after thought to your staff. I think the shining example of how truly awful the experience was can be summed up in this manner. Part of our order, our appetizers, were delivered to the wrong table. Our entrees were delivered to us and when we asked “Where are our appetizers?” we were told “Oh, they were sent to the wrong table.” After that your staff seemed to want to get us out of the restaurant as quickly as possible. Which at that point was ok by me. I want to assure you that last night at your restaurant was just that, the last night we will ever go there again. And I will make sure that I relate this very bad experience to everyone I can. I should like to suggest you change your motto to “Outback, no rules, not right.”

Love the place, but one star for the diarrhea. I keep going because I like the food. Have gotten diarrhea last several visits and have narrowed the culprit to their soda machine. Not the ice, the soda. Other people in the party had ice in their drinks that were not soda and they were fine. Its not the food, I have tried multiple dishes with no problems, but drink the soda (regular coke) and the result is diarrhea. I doubt the plastic hoses in the soda machine ever get cleaned or replaced (like most places), but there is a problem with the ones at this Outback Steakhouse in Thousand Oaks Ca. I post this review in hopes that management will fix the problem because like I said, I love this place. Good food, good service....but frequent diarrhea. If anyone else has had this experience please post your review as I doubt one negative review cause the problem to get fixed.

Ate here this month, January 2011. It was without a doubt one of the WORST meals I have ever eaten. The steaks ordered by the four in our party were inedible! Italian shoe leather would have been an improvement. How they can call this steak is beyond my comprehension. Two of the steaks were sent back, the manager came out and offered to recook some more but the damage was already done. The manager did take one of the steaks off the bill which to me is an acknowledgement that the quality was bad, no, very bad. The wait service was Ok but the food quality overrode everything else. Drinks were watered down and very weak. The place was busy so maybe people accept this kind of food quality but there are better places to dine for the money. The steaks were not cheap, just of very poor quality. The ranchers in the Midwest would find the meat laughable.
