My wife and I just moved to the area and we wanted to find a nice restaurant where we could become "regulars." We tried a few different places (no need to disparage names) and finally happened upon Le Petit, where we know we have found our "spot." The Chef is great. Creative, but tasteful. Simple, yet thorough. And his food is delicious. We began with a light dinner salad and the asparagus soup. The soup was pretty amazing. I hope my wife doesnt take this the wrong way, but she finished it in about 2.2 seconds. For our entrees we ordered the Chicken Breast Picatta and the Provencal (sp?) fish. We were forced to share ;). They had a nice full-bodied Chard BTG to accompany our meal which fit beautifully. We rarely order dessert, but we couldnt pass up the Tart Tartin. . .equally as amazing. The service is warm and friendly. Our server was relaxed, humorous and all-around what you expect and want in a server. Sorta reminded us of Kevin Kline. We felt like we were dining in a Manhattan Bistro, not on the Blvd. In fact, given the atmosphere and decor one could even feel like they were eating in a bistro on the Champs. Loved it, and so will you!

This is exactly what I envisaged a visit to a French restaurant to be like: decent food, good wine, and horribly rude service. This is from both the maître D at the front, and the manager on duty that night. Im never going back, and I recommend that you dont hand them your money. I wont yell at them for ruining what was supposed to be a nice, romantic dinner. Instead, I will vote with my wallet, and take my business elsewhere. For those who understand that the dining experience is not only about good food, but also good service, I suggest you do the same. There is a Greek restaurant beside Le Petit Restaurant. The food is fantastic, as is the service. In fact, I find the restaurant "fun" to go to!! I suggest you go there! They have never disappointed.

I and my friends have visited this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised about service of this restaurant. The waiters have delivered an exceptional service, were very friendly and caring about choices of their customers. I want to say thank you to owners of this restaurant for keeping such a wonderful staff. Also, food were delicious and prepared with great french traditions. This very high-quality place which I would recommend everyone to visit and enjoy the food, restaurant environment and great customer service.

A very solid restaurant. Not the best French in LA but if you in Sherman Oaks and looking for a reasonably priced french food, I would defenetly recommend it. I have been here several times and it never disappoints. True French cuisine in a delightful cafe atmosphere including good fish, coq au vin, etc.. Can be noisy so try to sit on the enclosed outside area if available or near the front of the place.

NZ lamb chops were very good as usual, and wait staff is unfailingly friendly. Disappointingly, however, they were out of their classic pomme frites even though very early Sunday night. Water glass was not topped off even once during our meal.
