The food wasnt so terrible that I wouldnt eat it, but there wasnt exactly something that would make me come back. The sushi bar people mentioned had only four or five choices while the remaining varied only slightly (Ex: Sprinkled with fish egg vs. No fish eggs) My dad said the some of the fruit they had was canned. I dont know how to tell, but the pineapples werent sweet at all. I wasnt that hungry that day, so we may have been better off splitting a pasta dish from the restaurant down the street. Not as terrible as some reviews make it out to be, but I wouldnt drag anyone here. P.S. Daddy did not like the decor. He said it was getting dusty

So the service rocked even for a buffet place... Came in here with our service dog, guy working did not make a big deal of it :) He situated us & brought me ice tea. Came back checked on us!! Food selection is good! Hot & sour soup rocked and most the food was great. The sushi side had a little too much rice for my taste, but you cant beat the choices offered for the price. And if you catch the sushi lady, shell even take special requests :)

A really fantastic place with various foods and yes, reasonable price. Only $11.70 for per UCSC student and you can have as many as shrimps, beefs, veges, dumplings and even susis. A small place with a nice TV and the people there are friendly. Overall, it is a really good place to have a buffet in downtown Santa Cruz!

Very good selection of food at a very good price. Exceptionally good iced tea served with just the right amount of ice. The eggplant dishes were very good as were the meat and seafood dishes. Tables and buffet were clean, friendly employees were visibly working to keep up the cleanliness.

I really want to like this place, but it is pretty hit or miss. (and usually miss). It was better back when it was L8 Buffet. There was no sushi back then, but yhe sushi now is usually kind of meh. If you want sushi, you should really hit up one of the many decent sushi bars in SC.

The food is GREAT! :) The chow mein, chicken, and fish has a really good taste! The employees are also really nice & caring. Yes, of course, sometimes the food is cold just like every other buffet, but the employees are always watching out when theres more hot food to be needed.

Horrible!!, I was chugging down water when I found a dead bug in my cup and I told my waiter about it and she tried to say it was a watermelon seed, like no hoe I know what I seen with my two eyes, like girl dont lie to my face about what I saw. Literally ruin my appetite.

The food was disgusting not hot or warm...you barley had any choices. The table my family was seated had was sticky and the hospitality was unprofessional. For the price I paid to go there was ridiculous. We spent only 30 min there and left. Not Happy at all

When I went before New Years Eve, it was really bad. All of the food was cold, the rice in the cooker was crunchy like it had been cooked and left out. Also, on the television (on a Friday night) was a childrens channel.

Dont let the decor fool you. Food is awesome. Great sushi buffet and coconut shrimp is delicious. Once they spruce up walls and floors they can charge double and it will still be worth it.
