Just another average Asian Buffet. The food selection is limited with only two full rows (total of four smaller rows, two on each side) of food and one row of dessert/fruits/salad. There is also an area to the side for Mongolian BBQ and some sushi, both of which I dont usually even look at. I guess the highlight of this place would be the crab and the fish. Dont get me wrong, neither tastes amazing, but theyre the priciest and the most decent tasting. I love tilapia and salmon, so thats what I usually go for. My parents like to stack up crab on their plates. Some other options include fried rice, chow mein, chicken, shrimp, broccoli, egg rolls, fried shrimp, dim sum, and a small variety of soup choices. Side note: I really would NOT recommend the shu mai, theyre always so dry and tasteless.. Service depends on who your waiter is. Usually its just okay, but today the waiter and waitress we had were attentive and polite. Also because the restaurant was a little empty, they were quick in clearing our tables so we have room for more food. World Gourmet Buffet can be a little pricey, but usually you can find a coupon online or in the newspaper and save a few dollars.

I appreciate buffet-style dining. Non-committal. Can sample different things and can control portions. I have been to several buffets over the years and have had mostly very good experiences. I happened to have been in Fremont and it was lunch time. I read the (poor) reviews and decided to give it a shot anyway. All the bad reviews are accurate. Hot food was warm, at best. Some items were borderline cold. Sushi was ice cold, in a bad way. Staff was silent, nearly rude. Price was higher than Ive ever paid for lunch. I do not expect extreme, high-quality cuisine at a buffet. I do, however, expect food which is edible and presented at the appropriate temperature. I will absolutely not be returning.

First time i have eaten at this place and i have to say the buffet had a large variety of food like people say and the taste is some what mediocore, but whats making me give them a low rating is the service, its horrible! Was here for a reception and i went to go get my food, as i sat down waiters didnt bother about going around to ask what drinks i want, when i needed a refill theyre never there and i have to get up myself and ask and it takes awhile for them to give me my refill! And also the dishes had food crusts left over, it was DISGUSTING i had to put it away somewhere and get a new plate! But i get paranoid about the next plate being dirty, never eating here again until service is improved

I do not recommend this place to anyone who isnt from here. This restaurant was a mistake as soon as I went to the buffet table. The food was very mediocre, especially the crab. They dont even remove the heads of the raw or cooked shrimp, have to do it manually. I was shocked at my bill that was nearly 50 dollars. Nothing there was worth the price. I could have gotten bettr crab at Red Lobster for 15 dollars cheaper. The service was terrible, plates stacked up because the server was too busy watching a basketball game. You can believe it that tip was not left. I am never ever ever coming back again....

My wife is Asian, Chinese, and we ate there last week and had a great meal. We happened upon it by chance. Wide variety of asian dishes and quality was great. The name "World Buffet" and the restaurant not having food from around the world as one other reviewer must have been upset about, does not bother me. The food was primarily Asian and of good quality, hot when we were there and the service was great, price was reasonable....what more do you want in a buffet?! There were plenty of Asians there as well as other ethnic groups. They must be doing something right.

I tried this place on a weekday for dinner with my family; I will never go there again. All foods, that should be hot, were barely warm; some of them were completely cold. I saw the precut sushi kept just behind the sushi bar, they really tasted stale. All dishes were very greasy. At the end when I tried the precut pineapple, I found few pieces that have gone completely bad. I agree with ‘Nikkos’, the name, ‘World Buffet’ is deceptive since 90%(+) of the food is oriental. The waitress we had was very nice though.

My first time ever checking out this place was on a Friday night for dinner. The food was AWFUL! It tasted as if it had been sitting out for hours. Everything was stale, cold and the food tasted as if it was from the day before. There was nothing there that tasted good...I was extremely disappointed! I have also been to other Chinese buffets, such as the one in Foster City (Hokkaido), and there is no comparison. The one in Foster City is way better, the food is much better quality and it tastes really good.

Worst place to throw a party. The workers were very rude, and very disrespectful while we were doing prayer. We can hear them laughing and giggling in the back while the pastor was blessing the food. One of the workers came in and told us that the party was over while we were still eating and that was very unacceptable. If I had to rate this restaurant, I would automatically gave it a zero if there was one! Please DO NOT GO HERE !!! WORST customer service EVER

The Mongolian wok had many fleas hovering over the vegetables. The shrimp dumpling was mostly a cold hard shell, with a small section of it seemingly steamed. The general tsao chicken was not even lukewarm...is that safe to eat? The hot & sour soup was good....but were in a bin, in a manner that customers need to move other bowls aside to get one (ie I hope other customers hands are clean when they touch everyones bowls). Desert was ok

I just got back from a Wed night dinner in Fremont with the family (chinese wife & mother in-law); I went because I had a coupon even after reading past reviews. Terrible food, the worst I ever had. I will not go again even if it is free. Really terrible food. I said this when paying the bill, and they said they heard this before. I hate to even give it one star, but if I dont, I will not be able to post.

Some food were there for a long time and degraded in quality, but they were still good too eat. Clean and tidy overall including the restrooms. Some items didnt have nameplates on them, then again other buffets dont even put any at all. Very large variety of food top pick from, didnt get to try them all though. They took our plates quickly and refilled my water too.
