Arya is a Persian place in Cupertino. They call themselves global by throwing in some Italian and American dishes but to me, they are inherently better off claiming their food as Persian. They kind of competes with Kabul, Dish Dash and Chelo Kababi in the neighborhood for reasonable Mediterranean fare at $$ prices. The restaurant is spacious, well decorated and overall- very welcoming. From both my trips, there were items that stood out as extremely well done. The menu looks less vegetarian friendly than what it is. During my first trip, we ordered the sampler platter appetizers which were great. The pomegranate lemonade was very interesting. The second time around, I opted for the safer drink bet- the lassi like Doogh. They also offer complementary bread with a side of a mint based spicy chutney that is pretty good. I ordered my main vegetarian lunch dish – a vegetarian platter with the Adas Polo (persian rice with dates, lentils, raisins and saffron), Persian side salad with diced cucumbers, and vegetarian kabab. The flavors in the rice are alone worth a trip to the place. It smells and tastes wonderful. The raisins, lentils and dates make it an exotic dish. The rice is well cooked and particles are distinct. The Vegetarian Kabab (less mushroom for me) is also very good and very flavorful without any heat. Overall, my group was incredibly happy with the food both times. I can heartily recommend Arya as a good lunch place for vegetarians in the South Bay. Rating: Ambiance: 8.5/10. The place looks very Eastern with hookahs greeting you at the entrance. Nice ambiance overall. Service: 8.5/10. Service was very good and attentive. Food: 9/10. Both trips, I loved my food. Just loved the flavors. Price: 7.5/10. Arya is not your cheap lunch place for sure. But you get a good lunch for sure. Restroom: N/A Overall: 8.5/10. I enjoyed my two lunches at Arya. I would not hesitate recommending it and definitely plan on making a trip again.

Wow how terrible. Never really thought I would be writing a review about Arya Restaurant/experience giving its a negative review. Actually I really dont like to write negative reviews at all. But our experience was so negative that it really put a horrible taste in my mouth and in my familys mouth which puts us in a place of never going back there again. Went there for Persian New Years which of course cost more money than usual. In the past they have served a really great food wonderful portions on such occasions. This time the portion sizes were less than one fourth of what theyve served before and they were not good. Our waiter did not want to really serve us or take care of us. We figured it was because we didnt order alcohol perhaps! When we would ask something of him he would say no or I dont know or not come back for a very long time. To top it off when we got the check they had added 20% gratuity. For what serving us food thats not worth it.... for terrible service.... When asked why they said "its Persian New Years!" So they can just add and force people to pay because they own an establishment and had a special occasion!!?? Even though food was not good.....service bad ....very much over priced. Just HORRIBLE.

We have been going here for many years. My wifes family is Persian and we have eaten at Arya hundreds of times. We have had big family events here and the food used to be great. The owner Mike and his wife Fera are the nicest people. That said, you go to a restaurant for the food. I dont know what happened but the food has gone way downhill the past few years. For example, we ordered three Lubia Polo today for delivery via doordash. Lubia polo is supposed to have meat and green beans in the rice. That is why it is "Lubia polo". What we received was rice with 5-6 tiny green beans and maybe one or two tiny pieces of beef. We ordered Lubia polo and got regular rice! I called Arya around 5:45 to let them know. I spoke to Maryam, who told me "I will let the kitchen know. Thank you." I asked again if there it was supposed to have green beans and she just said "Thank you." It was clear she had nothing to say and couldnt care less. After over seven years of going to Arya, we see no reason to return.

We made dinner reservations to this restaurant on a Sunday. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were greeted courteously and were led to our table. I was very impressed with the elegant ambiance. We were served complimentary bread and thin pita bread, which came neatly wrapped in a napkin and corriander chutney to go with the bread. The bread was fluffy and we relished it. For appetizers, we ordered Dolmeh, which looked very interesting. We have never tasted anything similar to this before, but we simply loved it. My husband and I shared a Combination Platter of chicken and beef, which was great and sufficient for the both of us. We topped off the meal with the Persian Mixed Dessert. Neat ambiance, fast and good service, delicious food! Looking forward to return to try more from their menu.

I went with a date and 2 other couples. We tried a mix of foods, including the "Soltani" Kebob, the scallop kebob, the eggplant. The food was very good. The Soltani meat was tender and tasty. The rice portion was not as big as some other Persian Restaurants, but I think it was adjusted to American taste. The scallop kebob was tasty, but we only got 3 (or maybe 4?) scallops. Large scallops. But not many. They had belly dancing that night, which was different and entertaining. Oddly enough, they had an old "Sinatra" style band before the belly dancing. Interesting contrast! It was fun. Food was good. Drinks were very pricey. But we will go again.

It the worse restaurant Ive ever been in my life. You have to spend more than 25$ per person if you want to be there otherwise the owner who is very rude will kick you out. They did that to us. They were pushing me to spend 25$ per Person or I have to leave. I was like I cant eat that much food but it seems like they dont care. In addition, I was looking at the menu and those price was higher than the same food in other restaurant like Negin in Hamilton Ave. Long Story short, They do care about your money not the costumer happiness in there. If you want to have worse night in your life and through your money in a trash can go to Arya restaurant.

We went to this restaurant sat night, Aug 27th. The restaurant was nice, food was excellent and entertainment was great. We had a really good time time and would go back again and recommend it highly. My only complaint is that the waitress did not offer or inform us about their homemade / house bread and brought us cold bread in a basket. Bread is the cheapest food on the planet, why not just offer it, or charge it, people dont mind to pay. Overall it was a very good experience, and prices are reasonable. Most Iranian restaurants charge the same.

My husband and I went to the restaurant often since 2015. We enjoy sitting at the bar so we can watch sports. They have two TVs at the bar. The bartender is usually the same person. He is very friendly. My husband likes the flat type of bread and the green dipping sauce a lot. Both of us dont really care for the Middle Eastern food much but this restaurant offers a wide variety of food in the menu. I have tried most of their seafood or pasta dishes. They are delicious. I have never had a bad experience so far.
