Wife and I came for lunch, very nice atmosphere and lighting. Welcomed when we came in and taken to our table. Order sushi Ono, Halibut and Yellowtail, perfect!!! The fish was cold and well presented and the rice held very well. Also ordered Oyako don rice chicken and egg over top hot dish, slow to come out but very good and good flavor. This is a simple dish Recommand if you dont have a large appetite share. Negative thing is wanted oyster but they were out but we will definitely recommand eating here.

The only reason why I go to Sushiya is because it is better than the other sushi places in SLO. They have mostly good service and always great food. I had a really bad experience where it took them an hour and a half to make us 2 tempura ice creams. We told 3 different people about 5 times what we ordered and how long it was taking, and the desserts did not get to us until 1.5 hours after we ordered it. It was very obvious we were aggravated but they still charged us full.

I understand that sometimes mistakes happen and orders get lost, but when nobody noticed for an hour and a half! Thats just incompetence. No one even asked if we wanted a refill on our water, I thought maybe our waitress had left and forgot to tell anybody she still had a table. Never mind the fact that we were the table with an 18 month old teething baby that just wanted to eat and go home, and to be honest, the sushi isnt even that good

Our sever only came check on us once. Ordered sushi roll for the side of a combo. They didnt didnt bring the sushi to us. We couldnt find a server and when we finished eating our server finally came and I had to ask for the sushi roll we ordered.. Anyways, we just didnt take it since we were done eating our food and we just left. We only gave $1.38 for tip. The service was terribly horrible. However, the food was good tho.

The service is bad. I recently went in to meet up with some co-workers for an after work get together. I was about a half hour early, and the waiter seemed genuinely irritated that my girlfriend and I were too early. The place was dead! We sat at the sushi bar in hopes to get an appetizer or at least something to drink while we waited. No one ever asked if they could get anything for us, so we eventually just left.

Not good. We ordered shrimp tempera with veggies and got fried mystery fish instead. Also ordered Korean bbq and got a cut up fried patty instead. No air conditioning. Ice tea had a bad taste. The raw fish was warm. The sushi wasnt cut all the way though so I had to rip it apart with my hands. Our first waitress was an airhead. Dont go here. Ill update if I get food poisoning.

If you like great service, fresh sushi, delicious food this is the place for you. A great place for friends and family. For those special dates, eat at the bar and they cater to you. For the non sushi eaters they have a great selection for you also. The wines and sake are divine. Enjoy!

Mostly rolls not sushi. The aushi ends up being $2-$3 for one single peice. Honestly its just average. The taste was average service was a little above average but so were the prices. Definitely nothing to write home about Ive had better elsewhere (other countries other states) for less.

The quality of the food was great, however the service was just ok. The servers were polite but never checked to see if our drinks needed to be refilled or if we received all our order ( yes & no). Oh, and they dont do tepanyaki anymore, however they still advertise it on the web.

Our service was horrible. We had to ask for everything, to order, for drinks, our bill. We waited 10 minutes just to order our sushi. The food was great once we finally got it. The worst part was that the restaurant was not even crowded. There were 4 other tables with people.

They messed up my order by 1) forgetting to give me one of my rolls and 2) not giving me any of the rolls I ordered. The service was okay however they were all looking my friend and I up and down. Really no excuse for why they messed up so bad since it was empty.

Ive only been there twice but both times i was impressed... great sushi and extremely good service. Everyone was friendly and accommodating.... if i lived in SLO it wud be my go to sushi joint. I make it now a point to eat there everytime i come visit!!!

The sushi is on-spot. I sat at the sushi bar. The food/sushi/roll choices were vast. Large portion sizes, great roll selection, the chef let me try fresh wasabi. What a treat. This is my favorite sushi stop in San Luis Obispo. Coming back again.

If the food doesnt get you the hospitality will. The owners are all incredibly gracious and make a point of thanking us everytime we go. The food is awesome you need to try the teppan.
