I got it into my head to try and visit five of the recently opened ramen places this month, with Slurp being the first on my list, given its proximity to my office. Located in a nondescript alley near R&G Lounge, I was met with no wait whatsoever around noon, making for a nice change of pace given the waits for ramen everywhere else. Rather than trying their base tonkotsu, I instead decided to give their black tonkotsu a shot. The verdict? Your typical average SF ramen: nothing like the amazing ramen youd get in SoCal, but definitely not bad if youre in the area and are fixing for some ramen. Their broth, while flavorful, was lacking in depth, complexity, and richness, which led to the black garlic oil overwhelming the flavors of the dish a bit. The ramen, egg, and chashu were all solid though. Theyre more affordable than The Ramen Bar, and far less crowded than Ramen Underground, so if youre in the same area, theyre well worth a shot! ***Accessibility Info*** Venue - The restaurant itself is located up a slightly steep grade, but, once youre past that, they have remote operated doors, and a good amount of space inside, with bar seating, and, of course, more accessible two tops and four tops. Bathroom - Didnt check them out.

Had lunch here multiple times, always with a coworker or two. Tried the different types of Ramen and thought they were all spot on, likely the best in the downtown fi-di area in my opinion. Had a bad experience with a wait staff. She was always really nice during our previous visits but the very last time she seemed to be on something as she started to get upity when she got change for our bill - she commented something that was really hard to understand and acted like she should not have to make change for us. When she finally did the change was practically thrown on the counter on the spot where we dined. Unfortunately I would likely never go back due to the weird rudeness. Would rate 5 stars for the food and 1 star for service.

Yay, a new ramen spot where you dont have to wait 20 minutes for a seat/to get food! Its just up the alley way from R&G Lounge. I didnt have time to eat in on the day that I visited, but it looks like a nice spot. It fits maybe 30 people with tables and bar seating options. I got my tonkotsu ramen to go ($12) and the soup was packed separated from the ramen and rest of the dry ingredients so it didnt get soggy, which is nice. I liked the tonkotsu broth. I think they over-seared the tonkotsu a little, but it was still good. I hope this stays as a hidden gem (selfish, I know) :D

This is my go to spot for delicious ramen without the wait. I kinda didnt want to leave a review to let others know how awesome it is! They have ample seating for singles and the service is fast. They will sometimes run out of a dish late into the night, but that just tells me all their ingredients are fresh. Ive been here multiple times and they have consistently met and sometimes exceeded my expectations. Please note, there is a single stall bathroom. Fortunately, the place is not that big, so you wont have to wait long.

This place has totally decent ramen & very friendly wait staff. While Ive had way better in Japan, this place is worth the price. I had the spicy miso tonkatsu and would actually recommend getting the less spicy options. My wife had the less spicy vegetarian ramen and hers just tasted more flavorful. Mine was really spicy but it needed more salt. The only other thing I would add is that the noodles are good, but nothing special when compared to the real thing in Japan. Good overall though!

3.5 stars. Tried this great little ramen place near FiDi and Chinatown a couple of times for lunch since it opened a few months ago. Better than most of the other choices in the area. Didnt need to wait either time, which was great, though it was empty. Service was prompt and courteous. The tonkotsu ramen is the closest to Daikokuyas in L.A. Ive had in the Bay Area.

夏でも最高気温が20度越えない時もあるSFでは、ラーメンが食べたくなり、トライ。豚骨醤油ラーメン美味しく頂きました。チャーハンは、ちょっと微妙でした。店内は、非常に清潔できれいでした。

Fantastic flavor, lots of options. Chashu is brilliant and tender, you can pull it apart by gently poking it with chopsticks. Tonkotsu black (with grilled garlic oil) is my favorite, not too salty and not too heavy. Comes with enough noodles already to fill you up, in case youre considering the extra noodles. More than usual places. Hidden treasure!

My favorite so far is the shoyu ramen, which is a chicken based broth, not as rich as the fatty tonkotsu (pork) broth. The location is nice because its tucked away on commercial street so you dont get too much passersby. Its mainly ppl who know where theyre going, and it does get crowded.

Ordered their spicy miso ramen and was pleased with the amount of spice (as someone who likes spicy food). The pork was really soft and the softboiled egg was just right. The seaweed had a slightly odd flavor to it, but it was a pretty minor thing overall. Nice service.

Pretty run of the mill ramen joint...nothing in particular stood out and the menu was somewhat limited. The "spicy" tonkatsu was fairly mild and the toppings were pretty basic. On the plus side, there was no wait to be seated as this is off the main drag in Chinatown.

I had the spicy miso tonkotsu. The broth was good, but the noodles were standard factory produced fare. The pork was at best ok and lacked any real flavor nor was it particularly tender. Nicely located and still a decent bowl of ramen, but little to set it apart.

I love making and eating ramen. Ive had it everywhere. The ramen rivals David Chang. This place is fun and vibrant. The kids working are all smiles and they seem to enjoy being there. Good job!

The most important part of ramen is the broth. The broth here isnt bad but not the best. But this is probably the best in this area. The chicken karaage was pretty good too.

Great first time Ramen experience. Definitely a hidden little gem. Great portions, nice little beer selection. I And the spicy miso with corn. Sunrise ale was great.

Good tonkatsu broth. its a bit silly that the veggie ramen is the same price ($13.50?) as the regular ramen. overall its fine with speedy service but nothing crazy.

To my surprise, my meal was very good, I had the ramen with black pepper oil, enjoyed it very much. Hope to make this place as my regular lunch time hang out.

Tasty ramen and gyoza. Really enjoyed the toppings, especially teh kikurage mushrooms. Expensive, but you wont find cheaper ramen in the area.

I first fell in love with tonkotsu ramen in a little basement shop in Otsuka Tokyo. This place is every bit as good.

No vegetarian options. Everything has pork. Had to wait outside for a table since there is no waiting area.

Great place for a nice hot bowl of ramen for lunch! Not too crowded during the lunch rush.
